The dev team realized early on that players might encounter problems with glitches etc. That is one of the main reasons for the Anima system so it can't be removed entirely, or changed too drastically (my apologies if someone else has stated this earlier in the thread, I didn't get to read it all)
At any rate, Anima is a necessary system at the moment, but I'm inclined to agree with the OP and some other posters here. Once we have chocobos and airships, It would be nice if the Anima system was scaled back a bit to encourage players into a more authentic FF experience.
I prefer the following:
1) Make the 'return' function cost a bit more and have a 30 sec or more charge time.
2) Limit all other Anima use to the Aetheryte crystal menu - (ie, you need to be at an Aetheryte to use it)
3) Remove the teleport party aspect to Anima usage (casual/solo players won't need it) and introduce teleport spells to the game (which will suit party/hardcore play).
4) Remove the ability to teleport people to crystals which they haven't yet visited by other means.
I think this will go a long way to balancing out our transportation methods after chocobos and airships are introduced.
