Or dont allow it at all, CC casual games are fun because they are not party based, if you start putting in parties in there it's ruined, if you want premade vs premade though have at it, enjoy the hour long queue because no one will bother

I have matches with nearly 20 kills in casual. How is allowing me to group up with 1 or 2 friends (who are not even pvpers) going to change anything? Casual has no matchmaking and the matches are wildly unbalanced due to its open nature. Just let us play with friends. Aint no one "premading" (I'm sick of people considering a group of 2 or 3 as a premade) into casuals taking those matches seriously.
People already do this all the time is casual. They sync queue with friends, then throw if they get put opposite. It's really fun for everyone involved.
I too feel the suffering when you are stuck with players without hands in CC. I would love to play with my friends, why they don't just have the matchmaking put premades against each other idk. It's a fun game mode and those times we can queue up and get put together or even vs each other it's really fun. It's misery playing with people who don't try at all.
It's utterly infuriating to see someone with 0 healing done and 20k damage if you're lucky. Quite frankly they should be reportable for afk since to me it's just them blatantly doing sweet F all to farm exp for the pass and nothing more. They move around to not get booted and that is literally it. That is more toxic than someone who is actually trying and getting a bit salty imo. At least they are trying to win in a competitive mode vs the afk leech farming their pass exp.
Unless they have it to where you can queue custom games undersized custom games aren't viable either. Except for those that are currently scrimming for the upcoming tournamens or for those that are running their own tournaments what 2/3/4 person group is going to wait for a big group to do a couple to a few games at most? It's easier to get a group together for a savage raid than it is to get 2 small group together for a couple of CC games.
Very concerning that pvp has to be a very restrictive compared to pve for the sake of "fun".
Just accept that premades won't be joining CC for the forseeable future. It benefits nobody except the selfish players who want to curb stomp solo queue players so they can get their series XP grind done efficiently.
Premade vs Premade queues will take forever, the only solution to fix a queue problem would be to pit them against nothing but pure solo players. That puts the solo players at a disadvantage because the premade players will more then likely be communicating on discord rather than with crappy chat commands.
Premade compositions will not be fun to play against. It will be about as fun as fighting a DRK premade in frontlines, and while its possible to get some whack compositions currently in CC if premades were allowed it would be full to the rafters with them. Give the PvP community an inch, and they'll take a mile.
"But my team could suck at the game!" Then why aren't you asking for a PvP tutorial to be implemented? Do you think new players are likely to want to continue doing PvP if they just get curb stomped at every available oppurtunity?
"It's not fun." Go queue with your friends in frontlines. Nobody is stopping you. Or is it because frontlines isn't fun? Maybe we should also be pushing them to make frontlines a fun game mode too.
"Casual CC doesn't matter." So we should just implement changes that make it worse as a whole for the community at large, who either; Don't have friends that like PvP, or Don't have friends to PvP with. Do you think that premades are going to increase the participation in PvP at large? I don't.
I strongly think that a seperate mode for premade vs premade should exist instead, perhaps allow people to create custom games. Ruining casual CC isn't the solution, and asking square to implement premades into PvP competently, given their current track record with PvP changes is nothing short of huffing a large dose of copium.
Casual shoul let duos or trios. Ranked should remain solo q tho
Like the games dont get manipulated anyways... i already see when just my wife n me que at the same time, most times we're either in the same party or at least the same match... i imagine if you fill enough jobs you can manipulate quite well. even with randoms i sometimes got parties where the others basically didnt attack at all lol
Or like, you know, people who want to play with their friends in an MMO. Basically the entire point of the genre.
I think it's very obvious most of the people here have legitimately never done any other competitive game in their life. if it were functioning correctly (and it's not, so it's another SE problem because they designed the ranking system poorly) the matchmaking system would very quickly throw people who are stomping randoms into games with really good players and it wouldn't be one sided anymore. That's supposed to be the actual function of a ranking/matchmaking system: To determine your personal/group skill level and match you in a way you'll win about 50% of your games.
But yeah, if you want your game mode to be dead, keep it so people can't play with others. SE is just wasting dev time doing basically anything else until they change it, barring the first few weeks or so when people just play for rewards and then never touch it for 4-5 months.
Riddle me this: if the way you're supposed to play CC is truly with completely random people, why is SE hosting official tournaments with full premades? They could've totally drawn random people to play in groups of 5.
Pre-mades should be allowed in the casual mode for sure. If they want to keep ranked solo queue only thats fine
I'm just going to ignore your ridiculous assumption that nobody here plays competitive games.
First, how is CC dying? Explain. Because I can queue into casual at all hours of the day, even ranked sometimes. If you want to implement a ranked system, fine, combine casual and ranked CC. But I still dont want premades, and again, How is square going to competently introduce a match making system given their track record with PvP over the past year?
I don't care about you, or what you're doing in series XP, or honestly about your blockhead takes. You already proved in other threads that you don't care about other people in PvP. You only care about what you want, at the expense of everyone else who you claim is a "selfish loner" because they don't want to play premades, or who you think has a "skill issue" or is "bad at PvP". I'll put in a good word at the circus for you. They could use more clowns.
There's no reason to not have the ability to group up, at least in Casual Mode.

Couldn't help myself.. xD
On point of thread- a) I don't think SE has a big enough player pool to offer quality match making filters beyond the most generic ranked filters without costing a decent amount of extra lag time and b) watching how many people mistook OP demanding the normal queue change has been a sort of bingo game..
Casual should be open for groups, its results are irrelevant and it already mixes top 100 with first timers.
Ranked should stay Solo, want to avoid groups and have bit more balanced matches? Queue Ranked to play with others on similar percieved skill level and no group advantage.
Easy enough, but for some reason people think Ranked is a stressful boogeyman. It's already more balanced and fair to lower ranks than Casual is and the level of play is lower until mid/high ranks.
That is something i am actually against, duos could be fine but trios can easily focus enemy players down one by one. Which would be a really unfair advantage.
I would leave solo queue as it is, for people who just want to play with randoms. Everything else would ruin the fun for others.
Would like to see an arena mode tho where it is just 2vs2 or 3vs3. But ofc then SE would have to really balance the jobs and create something that can actually kill a good whitemage.
People didn't read your post, you get called out for asking to want to take over solo queue, then you get suggested to partially take over solo queue and choose to defend the originally posted idea that it would probably be better not to take over solo queue.

Just enjoying the consistency through adversity and support :)
Arenas could be cool, I imagine they would do better if they are via phases or tournaments or something on a schedule in order to reduce the player divide in queues. I don't have the data but a 5 minute average queue for PvP is pretty great, if they can keep that then whatever.. ignore me lol. If they can't then scheduling arenas might work. Though one thing I hope they can avoid is sequestering unique rewards /only/ behind cycling content. I don't like leaderboards in general but I could see cool reward that is signature to the winning players, but then later releasing a non-signature slightly name changed variant of the armor (I'm not really a believer in exclusive stuff, just seems like a huge waste, but timed exclusive or honorifics in item names is fine).
I mean it would go against everything i want from PVP, my goal isn't to stomp newbies into the ground. I want an enemy team and teammates that are basically on my level so the competition is fun and fair. So groups in solo queue, no matter what size, would be something i absolutely despise, cause it would be no fun for me either and i believe for the newbies who would get blasted it wouldn't be either.
From the start i always wanted challenging fights, not the chaotic mess we have atm where half of the group runs into the full enemy team one by one and nobody knows how to regroup. Being able to queue in a group in solo queue would be the opposite of challenging.
And yeah arenas would be really neat, even if it is just for fun and not rewards. Would totally love a queue for even 1v1 just to battle some random players, i know we can do that in the arena already but it would be nicer to actually do it randomly, plus nobody stands there all day...
Eh I walked out with gold rank season one and got 245 kills and airship mount im good :D
In ranked you get also thrown into matches with random players? Which can all be bad, same as the enemy team? How is that different from unranked?
People will still not regroup, run one by one out of spawn into their deaths. Pull stupid stunts and do stupid things.
So it is the same as unranked, just with the added frustration of you getting punished extra.
So yeah, PVP ESPECIALLY RANKED IS JUST A LUCK BASED RNG ROULETTE. And since everyone is doing it cause there is literally no difference to unranked matches you have A LOT of bad players in there which don't care about actually playing pvp.
If casual allowed groups because "the results don't matter" then it needs to also allow AFKing.
Feast was dead for vastly different reasons, mostly the horrendous wintrading scene. Or that it wasn't sustainable at all, not to mention that there weren't really many rewards people could get from feast. All of which has changed already and made PvP in XIV more popular than ever before.
And duos/trios can obliterate enemy teams easily if they aren't coordinated. If i had a ninja sidekick all the time i would win every match cause that's just how it would go, lol. No thanks, leave the solo queue alone. For both ranked and unranked.
There basically was a cabal of wintraders on the NA DC's, who got slapped on the wrist. Lets not even talk about people using third party tools.
That alone would be enough to discourage someone from wanting to rank to top 100 when PvP is so poorly moderated, and penalties are not high enough to discourage illicit gameplay. Not to mention the casual population of our game who already have a low opinion of PvP. It just makes the image of FFXIV PvP even worse than it already is. If people think augmented hellhound weapons are going to change that, sorry to say but probably not.
CC queues are fine as they are, we don't need premades. If they're going to change anything they can just merge both casual and ranked and put in a better matchmaker, and assign rank promotions/demotions based on ingame performance. Assuming anyone has faith in SE implementing any changes to PvP with their current track record.
Mentioned before, and someone else did too, but top 100 systems are 24 / 7 forever and ever always going to be TERRIBLE systems whenever there is an additional human component and especially when there is value. Strongly feel SE should stop using them to do anything exclusive beyond at /best/ a special portrait option.
Even if they had 100% record on stopping cheating whether that is actual hax0rs or win trading, it will still invite a very unique level of dedication that, imo, can be easily cynically described as "no-life'ing". It's at minimum either an unhealthy or unfair system or at worst both unhealthy AND unfair lol. They're just bad, and it's not because of their mechanics- it's because of people being people. Comparative systems for the fun of it, sure whatever- but they shouldn't be used for anything beyond a cute novelty.
Reminds me of the Ishgard leaderboards and the insane numbers, and obvious bots, that were involved (though that system did just use it for novelty, so /shrug haha). Just a bad system to take seriously due to components out of the system itself, and I'm disappointed every time SE thinks to use it in PvP for anything above a portrait.
Because casual pvpers totally don't exist *eye roll*. No one grouping up in casual queue is taking the matches seriously. People just want to play with their friends.
I also doubt your "I'd win every match" comment lmao. Ninja's are not this god tier ya'll love to make them out to be.
