Agent Londin G: Hello and thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Customer Support. Just a few moments while I review your question, please.
Agent Londin G: How may I help you?
You: Hello
You: I am just seeking assistance about the Final Fantasy XIV Legacy Campaign.
You: The original announcement was somewhat vague, but said that a customer needed to pay for 90 days of service before 2.0 launches.
You: Since I started playing in the middle of May, I should qualify.
You: However, an announcement came out today that in order to qualify, I would have to use the 90 day billing cycle.
You: I was signed up for the 30 day and was just billed yesterday for it
You: I changed my account to the 90 day cycle, but then I read that that will be discontinued on the 30th of this month.
You: So, will I be billed for the 90 days next month or will I automatically be switched to the 30 day again and therefore be disqualified?
Agent Londin G: So long as you register for the Legacy Campaign before June 30, 2012 you should be fine.
Agent Londin G: 90 days of service must be paid for prior to the launch of the Legacy Campaign beta.
You: Is there a separate Legacy Campaign signup that I'm not seeing somewhere?
You: In other words, is it something that I have to actively sign up for? Or is it automatic?
Agent Londin G: It's automatic.
Agent Londin G: Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
You: What about the billing cycle?
You: This is a quote from the clarification announcement from today:
You: Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.
Agent Londin G: Okay.
Agent Londin G: Right.
Agent Londin G: Where's the confusion?
You: So, I signed up for the 90 days one day after being billed for my first 30 day cycle. But the 90 day cycle is discontinued on June 30. So, even though I have signed up for the 90 day cycle BEFORE June 30, the option to be billed for 90 days will no longer be available once the next cycle begins.
You: So, it's impossible for me to have paid for 90 days of service by the end of June
Agent Londin G: Switch to a service that keeps your account active.
You: Okay, so the announcement today is essentially saying "If you started paying for this game before June 30th and you keep paying for service for at least 90 days from that point, you will qualify?"
Agent Londin G: So long as 90 days of play are paid for prior to the start of the beta.
Agent Londin G: Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
You: I think my confusion comes from the use of passive phrasing is what caused the confusion.
You: Thanks
