Sad that it was too much of an ask to manage just two DoTs on WHM. WHM—you know, the easiest healer in the game. I’m not even talking about Cleric Stance dancing. Just simple DoT management. I’d give anything to have a second DoT with a different timer if it meant my rotation wasn’t DoT > nuke spell ad nauseam > DoT refresh > maybe I get to throw out a heal now in a semi-competent party.
The issue with things consistently becoming more and more easy is that it doesn’t teach improvement. If anything, with things constantly being changed and nerfed, it advocates the mentality of “cry loud enough about it and the devs will nerf it for us” versus “maybe I should practice juggling both Aero and Aero III. It can’t really be that difficult with practice, can it”. That argument was literally made about the current story mode trials in another thread. While not about job design, it’s still applicable to what has become of the healers since I started this game, in my opinion.
But putting all that aside and getting back on topic: the fact that WHM’s MP issues weren’t acknowledged at all in this patch truly astounds me. It needed to be acknowledged, and it just makes me wonder if the developers are out of touch with this concern, or simply don’t think it’s worth addressing. I really think they need to look into the complaints, and maybe add some sort of mana regeneration. Preferably at a pre-50 level because oh my God, the mana management on pre-Assize/pre-Lily WHM is terrible. It would benefit at level cap while providing early-level cushion when you don’t have resource-free healing available.
I guess at least Yoshida acknowledged that DNC’s personal damage was too low?
