Saying don’t rush isn’t a solution.... some people have lives like jobs, family and such and also a team. Sure they could raid the PF but what if said team is what suits that life and family. The consistency and schedule is what allows them to raid/play. So saying “don’t rush” to someone with limited time isn’t the first place? I am one of those people, I do schedule play time to ensure I can spend time with friends and family around work and not spend too much time on the game also. My solution was to make an alt and go back to enjoy the story when I’m not pressured by the need to be raid ready. I look at it like this. And if you think your group realistically has a chance to be world first, but in order to get first, you don't have enough time to watch cutscenes in the normal mode one time, then you do what you must. Otherwise, just be real with yourselves as a group and go ahead and take your time with NM before doing that "hardcore prog." It doesn't take that long to go through once. Or rush anyway for whatever reason, that's your call.

Reality is that delaying savage even a week really doesn't have many cons and only benefits. The cons are almost all related to world first groups as the ability to gear while progging, and not having time to check mechanics in normal, adds depth to the race. But that's about it. Please enlighten me if you have another angle to this.
Also, you don't just "take your time" with it. If you have a static with other real people making real life commitments to free up time, it's your responsibility to be raid ready. If your time is limited it means you need to rush through the msq and replay it later on an alt. That's not cool, and a fair complaint. I personally end up taking day 1 off work because I don't want to go through that, but it would be great to not even have to deal with it by delaying savage a week. -

Also to the point of your post. The only decent argument has been that it delays the release of tomestones. But that argument runs thin. If you rephrase everything to "can we release normal content one week early" that argument falls appart since we're no longer delaying anything. In essence both scenarios are exactly the same, because it's not a delay if it's planned.
The fact that the first savage tier is staggered and works fine is a good indicator that this could also be done with later tiers. -

Not everybody crafts, prices sky rocket on raid supplies on first week 1-4 weeks, you can spend over 5 or more mil(DC dependent) for pots and food for only a tiny amount as well. Its easy to say just save up. 2 weeks will help due to the fact mainly battle content players like myself can farm tomes and sell to crafters as the crafted mats are always from the previous tier tomes which can usually get you 1-2mil easy...so yeah.Quote:

But "delaying/waiting" aren't it since patches are already delayed, you can just twist that around and present it as some content hitting early. Exactly like how mmo devs introduced rested EXP instead of implementing decreasing EXP. Exactly the same thing, just presented differently. -

No it doesn't. That's a massive exaggeration 80%? I'll love for that to actually be true. Might just be your region/dc or w/e but that don't fly over here. Crafted gear don't drop until after the 3rd or 4th week and it sometimes barely goes down and some pieces, more so if its BiS (Best in slot) those stay expensive. More so if the crafters catch on its the best piece to have over the tome gear which is usually the acc like rings.
But you know what? I'm gonna keep this thread bookmarked and come back to it if it actually does drop by 80% to see if your clams are true when the new crafted gear does drop.

People keep conflating world racing with week 1/2 prog. If your aim is the latter, then getting in as much time as possible becomes a significant benefit.
I was in this exact situation with my 5.2 static. Two members worked all day and I and the Scholar were our only omni-crafters. Since the majority wanted to jump into Savage that evening, it meant we all needed to skip cut-scenes otherwise we wouldn't have the time. So what happened? The two who worked had someone else log in for them, rush the whole story and I skipped everything myself so I could focus on crafting. All because we wanted to shoot for a week 1 clear.
Considering the devs delay almost everything, I fail to see why a week delay for Savage is such a big deal. Look at Ishgard Restoration. They're turning off the game for five hours tomorrow just to update the next cycle instead of patching it in with 5.3 proper. Why? Because it'd make people who want to race for the title have to ignore story otherwise they'd have no chance of catching up. Only twelve players actually get anything out of that competition, and it has a decidedly smaller population than Savage. So once again, why can't Savage have a week delay?
Except they already do this. They outright said HoH was delayed back in 4.3 for no other reason than "we didn't want to overwhelm the playerbase with so much content." That's just one example. Ishgard Restoration is another. Do you really think they're still working on it three weeks before launch? They're sitting on it because they don't want people feeling rushed.Quote:

Thats about ~3 minutes per person per week. Or less than 30 minutes a static if only 1 person is crafting for your whole static.
And that's assuming you still do normal the week savage drops before you do savage.
There's no point in delaying it.
There's barely a point in delaying the first raid tier. -

So there's no good reason to rush through something that can be done in an hour or two in duty finder without rushing and skipping through dialogs and cutscenes, which means it can be done faster than that in a static, especially if you have "basically the whole day."
So I see no reason why other people have to wait a week to accommodate for people who can't wait an hour or two (and realistically less than that) -

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a week delay. It would certainly help with watching the cutscenes and getting your gear together. But also I would like to not have to rush to craft stuff and spend hours collecting it on the same day.
Even if it's just a day, I would like not to feel rushed by statics who want to tackle it asap. -

Why are so many people dogpiling on someone who wants to be able to enjoy both the story and the raids? You shouldn't need to sacrifice one for the other. Just delay savage release by one week so everyone can enjoy both.
