We talking about SE here. The XIV seam seem under staffed and under funded already but lets spend time and money on graphics only a fraction of the player base going to use or care about. Besides couple threads that usually have the same people post in I have not heard complaints about it other places online or in game people going "you know this game really looks like crap I wish they would improve the graphics".Quote:

And...yeah, that's what I mean by it's not as simple as just adding the high resolution versions to the game and calling it a day. This is, quite frankly, common sense stuff. -

What made 1.0 a fiasco was not that they put too much effort in graphics but that they did so when hardware was poor and unable to run it well!...
What made 1.0 a total failure was the fact that the game was much inferior to the current XIV in terms of gameplay, it was otherwise said boring and far too limiting, the pace was too slow to keep people interested, Yoshi-P saved it and now we want to have even better graphics, I don't think it's too much to ask and SE might end up getting even more money out of new players, they have to keep the game competitive after all!...

I'd enjoy higher resolutions as much as the next person; however, if the team really is understaffed and under funded, then it really boils down to money/business. They have to consider both the number of people who would actually unsubscribe entirely over graphics as well as the number of people who are running hardware that could even take advantage of the higher resolution textures. Pouring the time and money into it just because people like options isn't exactly practical, and when it comes to mitigating the number of people unsubscribing from the game, graphics aren't going to be high on their list of priorities.
