• Crafter advertisement
• Run seller advertisement
• FATE party for Atmas or w/e
• Primal farming for light
• Farming parties in general

I'll even throw in another chance of proving me wrong: go into your server's PF and tell me how many learning parties are there. Then come back in a couple of hours, then for a couple of days. Tell me how many learning parties you saw ever being made there.

I've run and joined plenty of learning parties. They fill up really quickly. Maybe it's a server thing? *shrug*

The thing is, sneaking into farm parties to get a clear is kind of counter-productive. It makes veteran players less willing to accept people that have the soldiery bonus because they've been burned by it in the past. :|

And on the same line, I expect everyone who does join a farming party to have a basic grasp of the mechanics and their class, 100 soldiery or not. People may think I'm being harsh but honestly; if you're doing less than darklight-BiS DPS (and this is very easy to tell in titan or just glancing at their animations), you're just looking for free carries.

I don't care much if they have their clear or not. As long as they know what they're doing. While it's pretty rare, there's some people that know the fight well, they just haven't been able to get in a party that could clear the fight. When that happens and the rest of the party is fine as well, we even get some extra soldiery for it! On the other hand there's people with several clears I can't warp my head around how they managed to get their clear to begin with because after a few pulls it's clear they're aren't completely familiar with the fight. I rep people as needed (cleared or not) and suggest them to get some more practice in before trying to farm it, as nicely as I can. I feel bad kicking people >.<

I really like working with players that actually feel anxious about getting it done rather than players that go zzzzzzzz to mechanics cuz they beaten it 20+ times.
I.e tanks that get hit by the bow 1 shot mechanic in shiva ex. And say oops i zzzz lol wasn't paying attention my bad.
Also at least the ppl with sol bonus are actually "honest" about how comfortable they r with the fight than players who stay silent but have "cleared" already.

When I was PuGing 1 slot in my static kill groups before FCoB unlocks, I've given at least 4-5 different players their kills. What they did? They /t'd me and asked if they could join. They told me they hadn't cleared it but got the boss down to X%. If you've gotten a boss to sub 20%, you've seen the whole fight, you just need the practice to ingrain the mechanics within you.

As such, I feel if someone has a "no sol bonus" message, just ask their leader, and see if they'll let you in because hey, you never know. Of course some people won't give you the time of day. If that's the case, those aren't people you want to associate with anyway.

Lol. The funny thing about that is that I couldn't join their minimum i125 T10 farm party on PLD (my main, and the class I've played all through FCoB including several T13 clears) because I use crafted accessories, which drops my item level to 123. I could, however, join on my SCH (i128) or my MNK (i125), neither of which I've set foot in Final Coil on.

Item level isn't the end-all be-all of your character, and I wish more people would realize that.

We are on the same server. Right now I see a T13 learning party on our server it is 7:09pm est as well as clear parties.. Well those 2 people who have never cleared kept dying in phase 1 after about 3 wipes the group disbanded because of those 2 people. Which is the reason why people want to wait for people who have the clear to join.

There were 3 different t10 learning parties up simultaneously about 2 hours ago on Hyperion, plus 2 farm parties, one t12 learning party, one t11 learning party, and a farm party for each of t11 and 12 as well, all missing 1-3 members right before the one I was in filled and we went in. Now yes, I do more often see farm parties than learning/clear parties, but it is by no means rare for a learning party to go up in PF and fill. Sure depending on what roles are missing from the initial posting that it may take 20-30min to fill up, but it still fills. Sorry if your server isn't like that.

I'm on Behemoth and I make learning parties from the occasion, sometimes it takes a while, sometimes, its quickly, just depends on the duty. Create one on peak time and you should be fine I guess...

Or maybe sometimes people want to farm a raid for quick repeated clear for specific loot and don't want people trying to get carried in them who will do nothing but slow down everybody else or even cause them to not clear, but I guess its better to throw a fit about the evil elitists who don't want to teach you an entire fight as if you were entitled to their time when they're repeating t10 for the 500th time for a piece of loot. The obsession of people in this forum with the eternal shadowy phantom of the Mean Scary Elitists is beyond absurd.

I like helping out players learn fights and getting them clears... in learning/progression/clear parties. Shouldn't have to teach one of the fight's most basic mechanic in a party that was set up to get multiple clears for loot. It's mostly frustrating waiting (sometimes over an hour) to get a party filled up hoping to farm something only to see it fall apart after a few pulls because at least one person that isn't familiar enough with the fight to clear it constantly snaked in and causing people to ragequit. Also probably why the soldiery bonus message is so shunned by some people even though some player with no clears yet could probably farm it anyway. I don't mind derps though, shit happens. o:

The no solidery thing is stupid. It is not a good indicator of whether someone is good or not. Especially with the case of alts. I have cleared through t13 on my main but then I wanna farm loot on my alt who hasn't gotten first kill yet I can't because of the bonus message. So I gotta waste my time in no kill groups all over again even though I'm 100% on the fight. And I've seen lots of people without their first kill of a fight do a heckuva lot better than so called farm pros. For anyone reading give more people a chance and get over yourselves.

But, if it wasn't because he wanted loot and he just didn't want to raid with a MNK, he's an idiot. MNK is borderline OP in Final Coil if your group wasn't/isn't overgeared for any specific fight. Dragon Kick is that amazing.

Best thing about it it's that people assume that because a person has cleared something he's skilled and apply the negative concept the same way. They keep forgeting that THAT soldiery bonus they once had it and they clearly performed well in order to get it, or they bought it.

Again... so many get an "FC clear" and immediately set up farm parties. It's a disaster. Farm parties are first and foremost a static thing... as they greatly benefit from knowing the in's and out's of a group's composition in order to clear content numerous times as efficiently as possible.

Lucking out on mechanic RNG (and possibly even being carried) to attain a clear does NOT make one automatically ready for farm parties. As such, the "no SOL bonus" can be a bit misleading... though I do see it's benefit in some cases.

There's always a story or context behind something. I put up 100 soldiery as an absolute deterrent for those who have not even touched the fight. It'll also say alot to me about an individual if they feel the need to sneak into a party that explciity has a no 100 soldiery tag; If they cant even be bothered to send me a tell or let the party know after joining, I'm going to assume they just wanted to sneak in to get their clear.

I think people leaned on their static's voip and callout macros too hard in their progression. T10 "farms" were horrible because people could never react on time for their mechanic. I also believe there's many people switching roles and being blind to dealing with certain attacks they didn't have to pay attention to otherwise, gotta ride that N>G.

I don't think anyone here is stating that the no sol bonus is a GOOD method to setup farm parties and to try to get experienced people, it is however our ONLY method. I'm fully aware of farm parties where no one has the bonus and it's one giant mess and you wonder how these people even cleared satasha normal.

The only other option is to say to someone hey link at least 3 items that drop from this run or you can't join, and we all know how many times we've done runs with zero drops.... friend of mine cleared t9 120+ times to get his bard coat, saw it drop TWICE in all of those runs, the first time he derped and walked out before it went in his inventory so then his never ending bad luck started and 100 runs later he got that coat. We will never let him live that one down, and I will never forget his cries of joy that he can finally have that....for a fucking glamour.

I love doing t10-T12 in PF now on my monk, I main a tank for my static and all I can say is playing a melee dps feels so much more...relaxing? I have no idea why I'm not saying its easier but I found myself just having fun trying to beat my own DPS everytime.

I agree most of the time when I join an EX DF group - especially in Levithan - People do GENERALLY want to win.
I also note that practice groups have a higher % of win than anything I've seen.
I've been in 5 of turn 10 FARM runs all which failed this week - because people have a mind set that once they beat it - its a "faceroll"
Compared to the practice ones that I've been in 5/8 which have won because they NEED it to progress.

Last I checked you do get sol for winning. It's called the win reward.

It's more focused.

With tank, you have to worry about:
Dodging/Handling mechanics mechanics
Knowing when you need mitigation
Your own DPS output
Your threat (Sometimes AoE)
Your rotation (WAR)
"Emergency" Cooldowns such as holmgang/Hallowed (Though T13 wrecks you on this, you need those up at specific points so you won't be randomly popping it to 'save your life' like the other turns.)


When DPS'ing, you:
Handle/dodge mechanics
Worry about your DPS
Your rotation

Yep. Relics are very soldiery intensive. x4 Spring Water at 1600 each, 9 books at 500 each, 75 alexandrite at 400 apiece (you can get these elsewhere too, but still), and the quenching oil and Thavnairian Mist to get Zenith. :3
