Seems to me like some are upset about 3 star items being brought back, because some people are getting them for free.

I always thought quick ventures will be reliant on the lv on your retainer.
I don't mind them getting these things, but a lv. 12 botanist should not give you a primal weapon or high lv gear.
Perhaps if they were lv 50 with an ilv of 70 and beyone then it'll be more accepted.
Thank you for actually reading my post and seeing my point. I'm not as upset that they can get these items at all. It's just they can get them at such low levels and are not even that rare (I've gotten 4 lvl 70 items between crafted, pvp, and primal weapons in a little over a week). And if the drop rates of these items goes up as the retainers level up then the market could get flooded with these "rare" items pretty fast.
You seem to forget they're also a crafter. Pointing out that some items are overpriced in comparison to the worth of the materials necessary for them + time required to HQ does NOT mean they want things to be dirt cheap.
You're still reading into things that aren't there in a vain attempt to justify your personal dislike of the quick venture RNG.
Looking at the board, even the "retainer brought back" items are up for 800k-2.2million, no one is buying them because they're viewed as "overpriced." I said nothing about dirt cheap, and they are easy to come by, it's just at present time a lot of crafters weren't even fully melded in order to do so - However they are in no way wort 2-3million, for example, that sailor suit and dress? Yeah that's in no way worth multiple millions based on item acquisition.
This - And I can even make some of the new 'popular' items.
Getting a retainer to bring you back a really awesome item is like winning the lottery. Should we ban the lottery? xD Not to mention, just like the lottery, as time passes people will grow tired of spending ventures in hopes of getting said items, and stop doing it. Once people figure out how to craft items, their value might drop too, making it not worth it.
But yeah, getting ventures is actually my main job in the game right now. -.- So tiresome...let's see..I spend 2 every hour for about 12 hours on 3 retainers...72 per day... I can't keep up.. /faints.
I don't know if any retainer has brought back a sailor suit, but it is widely known how to obtain items for it already and every server surely must have a 3-star weaver by now? So considering how easy that material is to get, that item DOES seem overpriced..on your server.
Retainers HAVE already brought stuff back from T6-9....
Oh and really, it's no big deal...if ANYTHING, it's actually helping the crafting market because now people know 'oh hey retainers are bringing back housing/rare etc items....maybe I can find a deal'. So more people are actually browsing the marketboards now, looking at the more 'pricy synths' and buying stuff at ALL prices. If your crap isn't selling, it's not because 'oh gee retainers can bring it back too' it's because 'I'm not paying that much for it/I can wait/I can craft it myself/screw it I don't need it'. The retainers however, made people curious enough to start looking for stuff they haven't been able to make/find on their own on the boards=sales all around (if priced right).
To me it doesnt matter if low level retainers bring back quality items now and again, this way you dont have to be a hardcore player to have a chance at getting one.
This makes it an even playing field, if youre complaining about people who pay for extra retainers having a higher chance, well, they pay for them, as do I.
I think it will bring the market to life again, also it is interesting seeing these items which have been added since the new patch.
I have a level 50 CUL and cant even use a retainer for that class, am I complaining? Nope.
As for why do low level retainers find nice things....
Well they go on Ventures, nobody knows what they do, who they do it for etc
At then end they get rewarded and in turn give us the reward for their hard work.
Now lets Fantasise about all the crafters in the realm of FFXIV (NPC's) - Well maybe they make and give away items to our retainers for deeds, we mad at NPC giveaways now also?
Be serious, nobody has a real advantage at this point, low level means EVERYONE has a chance at an interesting find, leave it alone
EDIT: SE already stated that crafting had little to no relevance in this game and should be seen as a hobby/timekill
Just thought I'd have my 2 cents. I have all crafts levelled to 50 and I fully intend to attain mastery books for all of them (eventually). I have to ask why this bothers you so much? It's not a reliable method of earning anything, so it's not like there's suddenly a huge surge of items coming in. The steady trickle we are getting is actually benefitting us as much as anything else, as they can also bring in rare crafting materials such as mariner cotton or dress fabrics.
You're welcome to bemoan whatever you want, but do avoid trying to speak for crafters in general. Many of us are perfectly happy with this.
You're just hearing a lot about cool stuff because it's cool and of course people are going to post about it. However, most of the time the retainers bring back mundane things and no one posts because they are mundane. You don't post on Facebook every week when you get paid, but if you won a mil from the lottery you would. And if other people did, they would be posting it too. That doesn't mean that everyone is winning the lottery; it's just seems like it because people are being vocal about it.
OP, I think you're overreacting to something that is not actually happening very often at all. I tried the quick venture thing numerous times and received nothing but trash.
I've done over 50 Quick Ventures and have nothing to show for it but fish, cheap furniture items, etc. It is all RNG. Just because you see a thread with primal, ilvl70, blah blah blah. It was all based on luck/RNG.
The system is fine. Find another inconsequential thing to complain about.
I get lot of fish, one of my 3 retainers got me a pvp book, and that's all, dont complain on random stuff, they are not getting chosen highest ended gear every hour
i hope one day retainer comes back with a high allagan sword and shield :) <3 come on baby you know you want to beat t9 and get me epic loot :)
why we not use this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ng-interesting...
what about the retailer who brought white raven armour fragment?
T9 world first?
I've gotten mostly furniture and fish.
Best things I've gotten are: HQ Alchemist AF top, white raven fragment, ilevel 55 pvp equipment
To me, retainer venture is really the LAST thing to fix, minor problem
This is all set up so players buy more of them (retainers). Players asked for it, now pay for it hehe
Having cash shop in games in any form will always affect the game design. People just don't get that in their heads.
Uh huh...because two extra retainers is game breaking. Whatever shall we do...everyone who spent $4 extra a month is going to magically get super powers and....two extra fish per quick venture. I really don't see how some extra slots to sell stuff, some extra storage space and two extra venture slaves is going to "affect game design".
Are we going to hear about how Fantasia is "ruining the game design" once that gets added to the Mog Station? Because...you know...somebody wanting to spend extra money to change their race/appearance totally screws you over, right? People really need to stop complaining about this stuff already and realize that each little bit of money that SE takes in is more money that can be put towards new content development.
The lore even backs this being possible. Dalamud after Bahamut was released was scattered throughout Eorzea. Guess who was absorbed by Dalamud prior with only his weapon remaining. Greg has the weapon now.
So fragments of his armor could be everywhere. Besides its just a component for furniture, which the piece is tradable.
Wait...you're complaining about a good thing? WHY?!
I had my retainer bring back an Astral Ring. A nice 50,000 Gil in my pocket. But that only happened once - I was incredibly lucky and got it on the first quick exploration I sent my first retainer on. Other than that, though, I've been getting low-level crafting trash material. I'm not concerned if someone gets a neat little trinket every now and again; that's the main reason people do retainer ventures anyway.
I think the system is fine as it is.
:D
Please stop feeding this troll post and just let the thread die of natural causes.
