When I mention third clan, I imply that SE should treat it like the Highlanders. A clan that is actually visually different from their cousins, including their animations. This means that the third Elezen/Miqo'te clan will have their own animations as well. I've also given up on wanting a playable bestial race in this game as SE has pretty much stated it's never going to happen for two reasons: lore and gear designs (the third reason is too stupid to even mention), however I have said I'll concede if SE make a playable Beastman glamour. Simple fix. Have Viera be either desert or Arctic living races predominantly. Why does it have to be an exact clone of the XII race? Why can it not have a different lore, origin home, etc? Why are you suggesting the devs adopt such a limiting mindset when they can create the bunnies as much as anything else. I'd be very happy if they replaced the Roe slot with Vieras. o3o Every single roe fem is just so ugly, IMHO...

Oh, I forgot to mention, but these aren't concerns expressed by Yoshi P. A user in this thread just brought up those points/suggestions. I don't agree with them though.

I'm just going to keep suggesting that a third clan of Elezen or Miqo'te would be better, especially if hands and feet for 'Viera' will be human hands/feet (as that really does make it sound like all you want is the rabbit ears, hence why Lambdafish said "So what that boils down to is you JUST want the ears"). Why terribly recycle a race (again) when you can add onto a current race and make them more appealing for others?

Just an idea: For viera customization, I was thinking maybe adding different marking patterns on the ears would be nice to have.

I'd only support it because if someone playing as a Viera in game gets deaded by fire spells, I can call them viera sausages, and this makes me smile.

I know a lot of people want them and I'm actually convinced they will make it into the game at some point.
But I have to say that I'm a bit fed up with the human-beast looking of the ff race.

This is a dragon-like specy
The Aura we currently have are just tall humans with scarce scale here and there and horns. The scales around their neck and face look more like Jewelery than actual physical feature.

I don't know... if every race we're gonna have are just sexy humans with animal ears and tail... what's the point?

While i myself have no issue with cute effeminate male Viera, i draw the line at children. A child like race should not be introduced for many, many reasons, better to have both genders of any proposed race be fully adult and depicted as such.

The art depiction child like Viera should be left for the child portrayal of the race in game not as a playable option. This is just my thoughts on this, however i feel it would be more hassle than its worth.

As an NPC it is fine, as a playable race? Yes it is. You do realize that Lalafell proportions were made specifically so that they cannot be considered children biologically? Their head size in relation to body proportions denote them not being of the human race and not subject to child protection laws concerning children if all forms of media.

I would say that none of that is ok, is absolutely disgusting and should be reported immediately. People like to bring up the idea of since it's already happening it's ok to add ways to facilitate and encourage depraved/ disgusting acts by introducing even more options to fetishize. That mind set is not only sad (in that one gives into abohrant behavior in doing so rewards it) but incredibly short sided (allowing the spread of said behavior to flourish).

Request have been made to adopt children, play as them, take them on adventures. However it's posed the fact remains, adding any child like race poses issues to the company for how the child is depicted in those situations (attack, dismemberment, death, capture, torture, ect...). to say nothing of the review by ESRB standards in general rating of content. A change that can in fact cause it's ability to sold and offered in certain regions to put into jeopardy.

I think the viera in this concept art should be considered. I like how they look. I don't really care what weirdos decide to rp, as long as I don't see it.

All of the FF14 races are basically humans with different body proportions, and sometimes with different ears, and some extra features . (Tails,scales, eyes)

What realy differentiate them :Body proportions, height, posture, unique animations. This is enough i think to feel them realy different and unique.

If they do this with a Viera like race, we can get easily a new race ,that fits perfectly in to the game. I support a new race.

You know, that isn't a bad idea. The character in that picture looks to be about the height and weight of alphinoe and alisae (I hope I spelled their names right), so I think if they made Viera about their size, it would turn out pretty good. I just don't think they should make Viera big and intimidating. When I think of bunnies, I think they're cute, not scary.

Let me get this straight, as you seem to dismiss my concerns as scaremongering and negativity, my concerns are based on the development teams own words.

The key thing here is Yoshi Ps worry about balancing it to be the same as FFX and making something that fits with the style of game that we have. This was seen in triple triad and Yoshi P sees that people saying "omg I love blitzball, we want it" (change blitzball to viera and we have this thread), and then as soon as they put in blitzball, people turn around and go "eh, its not how I remember it, they shouldn't have done that".

I don't have an issue with Viera being in the game, my issue is that I am echoing this exact argument above but replacing the word blitzball with Viera. This is especially apparent when people say "no, its ok to change it, we don't mind", newsflash: the community will mind and the developers implementation may be different to how you expect if you say that, especially if they change the name.

Also my solution was just a suggestion, I didn't change goal posts or change my concern, my concern is still about player expectation, HOWEVER I know for a fact that you are far more likely (like going from "not in a million years" to "reasonable request") to get the fran hairstyle and Viera ears headpiece as glamour options, I gave you that idea so that you had a chance at getting Viera, not because I was concerned about resources. You are welcome :rolleyes:

I don't want to get too personal on this topic, but Senn, you seem very much set on the fact that Viera will be implemented into the game, and you won't stop until it is. The devs have not made any kind of hints that this will happen except a piece of concept art that was rejected, and I really don't want you to get your hopes up over nothing and I'd rather we wait to see what the devs vision for the coming expansions are, and give them a bit of creative freedom when it comes to the world that they want to create.

I'd only play one if they were short and cute like in the second picture. I don't care if some weridos think they look like kids and want to make drama out of it. The same thing happened with lalas and thankfully those weridos stopped posting. lol
