That's purely a personal problem. Just because you have too much on your plate doesn't mean everyone else should be limited. You need to limit yourself.

A tiny handful people probably would do the event 24/7. There's always a few nutjobs out there. There's only so much that can and should be done to account for them. Most people wouldn't be able to stand doing it that often and would be more than happy to limit themselves to a few runs a day, or their life would dictate that they do so. Also, not everyone has the same schedule every day of the week. They should be free to play at their own pace. If someone can only do 1 run a day during the week, but has time for 10 runs on Saturday then they should be able to do it that way.
It is a personal problem yes, but when everyone have different playtime a day, an event with no time limit and still requires a static will become hardcore only.

When abyssea was out, there are a lot of Abyssea static group going on, and they spent 4~6 or even 8hours a day in abyssea. So if someone with 1~2hrs a day of playtime won't be able to join those groups, you don't want someone who come for only 1/4 of time and log off mid-run no?

Cool down time or time limit per entrance means those ppl with 1~2hr a day of playtime can keep up with ppl with too much time.

It's not about arguing whether meeble burrow 20 hr cooldown time is good or not, just saying that any event with no cool down time means if you want a static you'd have to keep up with hardcore's pace.
