You can enter the mog house of a friend simply by partying with them. the other person enters and selects >> open Mog house from the moogle menu. Then, you go to an NPC outside any mog house entrance in their home nation and you can enter their home. SE also had the idea of making mog houses into vendor stations, but I think that wa abandoned.

the idea of mog house expansion is very nice. i have another idea, as well. Perhaps SE could start a rent-a-room decorating contest. Seeing the same boring rent-a-rooms gets old after a while. Once every 6 months or a year, they could hold a contest with a winner from each nation. The winning designs become the rent-a-rooms in each of the starting nations, with special themed houses being used for jeuno and Aht Urghan. One winner woudl be picked form each nation and cover all realms.

Rewards could be special themed mog house items, or just simply the satisfaction of people seeing your design whenever they enter a rent-a-room.

This isn't just about storage, though. It's mainly about increasing the physical size of our mog houses.

I support the OPs idea under one condition. Make a separate storage for furniture so i can actually pimp my mog crib without having to throw away my rdm gear that I keep in my safe. Possibly remove the item from your inventory once its placed in your MH? I would love to decorate and expand but not at the cost of usable inventory. This would create a legitimate market for furniture as well and some of the more rare items would actually pop up on the AH if they had a chance of selling in less than 8 months. My guess as to why this hasn't been exploded already is PS2 limitations.

It sounds cool, but then that area would become a sort of slum or place for old galkas to rock in a chair and point hexaguns at passerby saying "Git off mah lawn!"

Also to Insaniac: It's not a storage issue really. Think about this. My original mog safe, 50 items, was 35 items full until I hit my storage cap. Trouble is the floor and wall and table space isn't enough to show off my swag. Adding in a locker and satchel and sack was suppose to help our storage. I don't even have a full mog safe, a big bag, or locker yet. I'm coping. You just need to consolodate the things you don't use any more.

One thing I think will help! If there are any artists poking through this thread, one's with good mental images of the MH's and a good deal of experience drawing architecture, why not scan this thread and come up with some concept art! The more of this we make easy for SE's development team, and show how committed we are with it, the easier it will be to catch their notice!

Also poke a mod! I doubt they can be ignoring this, but just in case it doesn't hurt to say "Hey, look at this! "

Also get rid of rent-a-rooms entirely. I don't care if there is no explanation for my furniture being sent across continents or back in time. Just do it and while you're at it let me use my storage wherever I want.

I definitely support this idea, but here's my two cents to tack on. Please let me know what you think!

Being able to have minimal interactions with pieces of furnishings, like being able to sit on a bed or having a chair that you can sit on! Sitting on the floor is rather uncomfortable when I have a lovely noble's bed that I can't even lounge on! Now, I'm not saying that we should be able to pick up a book from a bookcase and be able to chuck it at a random visitor (as humorous as that would be). But can we at least be able to sit somewhere more comfortable in our own houses?

Or maybe even change the color/size of the rug? That ugly tan really clashes with most of my furnishings!

I like the idea but the problem with that lies in the fact that they haven't programmed in chairs, people sitting, using objects or -anything- in the game including NPC's! Shocking actually! That'd be a big big project for them.

    ------------------------------------

Side note: I'm not sure what the PS' limitations might be, but I'd think that adding the expanded mog house mappings and such would just be a patch thing. A few extra files in an update, not exactly a game changer.

What are the PS limitations people seem to be talking about? Anything specific worth noting in this case?

Its a storage issue for me. I have like 5 pieces of furniture to max my storage and I'm still pressed for space. I have a pretty extensive gear collection though 0.0

I'll probably hit that same problem down the road... But my Mog safe is for decorations only! Ever since buying that mog sack I've kept gear in it. Once I have the locker and satchel, man oh man will I be completely unpressed for space.
