If there is a expansion for XIV coming out, they better give that shit to us for free for buying the game since its prob just going to be added as part of the 2.0 pack.

If you buy xiv now you get all updated v2 everything free, no charge no fuss. Just download it and ur good.

The expansion squeak I referred to was on xi's dev tracker. Which is why Im going to give xi 1 last push to see if this new expansion for ffxi is real and if it sounds at all interesting.

(side note: xiv already does have an expansion in the works but we prob wont see it til late 2013 at the earliest as its just in the beginning stages, and they need to be sure v2 doesnt tank too. They mentioned 2 new races in developement for it. A draconic and another humanoid. But Yoshi P's team is also very good at what they do, I just wish they had more ppl who knew what they were doing at se)

Only if you played FFXI. Otherwise it's a completely unremarkable side point.

I understand what you are pointing out in the article, but we had that back in Ultima Online a decade ago. I apologize if I'm not particularly interested in a game that is trying to appeal to FFXI players but gutted one of my primary interests in the game: the jobs. Why would I want to start over playing inferior jobs? Every job i played was boring and played the same at release and when I went back several months later.

Why name it FFXIV if we are going to play jobs, but they aren't traditional FF jobs? Seems like a pretty juvenile attempt at marketing, that failed.

Traditional Final Fantasy jobs are being introduced next patch. They also completely revamped the current classes in their most recent patch to give them more focused roles, so you may find playing them more interesting now. I know that I was particularly pleased with what they did to Thaumaturge.
