I'm taking a small break from XI til the 99 Relic / Mythic / Emps are all sorted out, since after seeing HMP play out, the deja vu is strong with this one. I was only 1/3rd the way done with Stage 4 EXCALIPOOR with a month of dedicated play, but it was an amazing month where me and another player were duoing and making great strides in progress on our weapons. I felt that it was a nice time investment challenge for players who wished to undertake it, and enjoyed the fact that it wasn't like the past, where poor game design forced the playerbase to cannibalize one another to ultimately have one person standing with the prize of a completed Relic. Remember that in old Dyna, many members would put the time in to complete someone's Relic, yet at best the helpers would only gain Relic armor as compensation, and with the news of needing to kill Arch level bosses multiple times to complete someone's hard work, it looks like they wanna turn the clocks back and party like it's 2005 again for anything worthwhile.
Now... It's just becoming clear that the game is going in a direction I don't agree with, unless they can pull a rabbit out of their hats like Yoshi-P has with XIV to invigorate Vana'diel once more. The biggest problems I see is that the playerbase has aged, and for awhile there the devs were making content with that fact in mind. Now the content, as well as drops involved are getting much more time sink in nature whilst the rewards are somehow giving diminishing returns. Back to 1,500 HMP to make most weapons gain... 3-5 DMG and I think... +2 to their weapon's stat strikes me as a very good example of recent design to support my claim.
Anywho, bought The Old Republic and WoW this month since I wanna see how SE is going to handle all the player backlash, and hopefully they'll give a reasonable challenge that we can all accomplish as a team, like Divine Might's optional fight that granted great rewards for everyone, not just for a single player. If they keep the game stagnating and want to make it where only that .3% of the playerbase will ever have a chance to finish their hard work in their weaponry, then hey, I got me some viable backup MMOs now that seem to understand we pay to have fun with our playtime.
I did a few months ago. I will not return unless there is another exp
Going strong since 2004
PUP the red headed bastard stepchild of SE
FORUM MAKERS NEED TO GIVE US OUR MUCH NEEDED "PM" ABILITY
you wanna keep me from quiting here is how
1. complete overhaul of all armors and weapons levels, stats, and cost of crafting and npc selling. (remove penalty stats on everything lvl 75 and below and on HQ crafted items reverse the penalty example: hauberk no -agi/eva and HQ +agi/eva). make crafted item so you buy the materials from npc vendor craft item then sell to npc vendor for profit (you get paid for your labor) bonus gil for HQ. if you npc items like weapons to a weapons vendor it adds to the list of weapons that they sell exception rar or rar/ex stuff or augmented items.
2. revamp of synergy system that allows for combineing of armors weapons and accesories (allow people to take things like elemental earrings and rings take all 8 or 6 of them and merge them into one to free up inventory space). also allow people to merg all armors below lvl 75 to make new armor example: merge the darksteel hanress set into the coral scale set to make armor that give -dmg taken and -mag dmg taken into one set then fold into kirins osode set.
3.undo all nerfs to all jobs that have happen over the years and just improve other jobs that have fallen behind (you wanna fix pld its simple give pld triple attack, counter shield bash, pld attacks with shield crashes like monk do with kick attacks, give pld an assortment of shield bashes that cause enfeeblements shield flash "blind" shield crash "bind" shield bash "stun" shield bounce "counterstance affect". give pld cure V, stoneskin, haste, refresh, regen, and some spell to remove -stat effects if you do that with the new weapons and armors available paladins should hold hate very well
4. come up with a better way to get pop items for Fafnir, Niddhogg, King Behemoth, and Aspid and other hnms your current way sucks how about filling Behemoths Dominion with behemoths and they respawn every 15 min have kaiser behemoths for nq and King Behemoth for Hq, in dragons ary have a bunch of regular wyrms that you kill to get the pop for Fafnir then Niddhog is dropp from Fafnir 1/3 chance same ideah in Valley of Sorrows i would like to finish up my hnm stuff. The system in place is messed up getting blackbelt blows donkey balls right now cause the key items are a lot harder to get then before so fix it
5. increase lvl cap on crafting make it so you can take all crafts to 100 and take one to 125 (exmpt fishing) now harder crafting stuff just make is so you can HQ more stuff
6. remove number of people requirements for certain events. This would be a great help to players who wanna climb floors in nysle isle, do assults to finish there captain rank, and would make getting mythic weapons less painfull a progress. If you got the balls to solo you can do it and if solo no level cap in certain events like outpost garrison.
7. make all nms procable even outside of abyssea. this is mainly to improve drop rates on annoying things like the Defending Ring.
8. justice for "troll" players. some players are just jerks if you get one that has a long list of complaints they get turned into a beastmen orc, quadv, or yagudo (depending on nation). When they enter a city an alarm sounds and npcs that are garrison guards will attack them all player can engage them if they die the lose exp. There homepoint is set to a beastmen stronghold where they are considered traitors and are attacked by them. Also this punishment will go on for one week of actual logged on game play time then they revert to normal. Just think of all the payback you can get on troll players i wil not give names but some of the biggest jerks can be found on ffxiah forums.
9.better rewards for Ballista, Brenner, and Diorama Abdhaljs-Ghelsba i would like to see a revamp of these systems and better faster controls maybe a new combat engine with the ability to get nice stuff like abjs, dynamis money, ancient beast coins, -1 dynamis relic items for upgrade, items to upgrade normal af armor, force pop items for some nms it would make people goto that system and play it more
10. finally all the players and account that where banned during the incedent where people were cloneing nysle isle equipment. Ultimatly you were the ones that dropped the ball and made the mistake and you punished the players for it. You were in the wrong then and you are in the wrong now for not letting them come back reinstate them. If your people had not made an error i the system it would of never happen. I did not take part it but i feel that it was not there fault let them come back with there accounts if they want to. fact is you problably lost them all from all final fantasy games and there not comming id
if someone from SE actually reads this or this thread ill be amazed cause North American opionons dont mean anything to them they only listen to jp forums and the jp players are the ones who wanted the nerfs on warrior and monk (idiots)
Your ideas basically are asking SE to remake FFXI.
1. Way too much work. For the most part, people are not using old armor so why put forth so much time and effort to adjust it?
2. Making kirin's osode on a ring slot is a bit much. I like the idea of combining gear, but some of the gear we have now is overpowered so I don't think this would work well. I'd rather see synergy used to make a piece of gear look like a different piece of gear. The benefits would be great.
3. Giving one job abilities that make other jobs standout will lead to a stale experience. Why bring a blm if a pld can stun? Why bring a rdm if a pld can enfeeble? Too many negatives to even consider this idea unless the added effects are exclusive to pld and all jobs get useful abilities like this. Otherwise FFXI will wind up a game that people only play 4 jobs in.
4. To this day the Black Belt remains one of the best items you could have for your job in the game. It should be a pita to get one. I agree that the fight requirements should be adjusted for people who just want to experience the content, but incredible items like that should be hard to come by.
5. Crafting is hard enough to make money in... what is the point of buying any armor from AH if you can make it all yourself? The only thing the AH will sell is consumables and materials. Some people chose crafting because they don't like to farm. If you remove the limit then you basically remove the market and the ability to make gil. Not good.
6. Many of these requirements have been reduced or cut drastically, but with SE trying to breathe new life into events like salvage and nyzul I don't see them doing it again soon. At least wait to see what changes the next update brings before making a judgement on that one.
7. I really dislike the proc system. Actually, I'll go so far as to say I hate it.
8. Grief the grievers? Why waste the time? When you do they accomplish what they're trying to do in the first place.
9. The XI community doesn't really care for PvP. Although I liked it, the game mechanics of XI aren't set up well to support balancing people for both PvP and PvE content. I think it would draw back a small crowd that would quickly fade when they realized that two jobs can basically lockdown any other job combos.
10. You want to un-ban people who were known to exploit the game? You have a few good ideas, but this one is by far one of the worst I've seen here on the forums. Why un-ban people who knew they were exploiting the system to gain an unfair advantage? That just doesn't make sense to me. You might as well un-ban all those fishing caps who wrecked the economy in 2005. Technically that was an SE mistake too.
Amen. We're not asking SE to spend every cent of profit directly back into XI development. All were asking for is to not let the game go to $hit.
~Party Rock Anthem~
Yep in order thats brd, blm, war, whm, drg, mnk, pld
So excited to have brd incoming ^^
Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself, you would cry your eyes out if you didn't.
