Unmasking a Goblin?! Just what do they look like??

I could understand the built in eye protection if their eyes were sensitive to light and such (being underworld dwellers and all), but unless they had ultra sensitive smell as well (which would warrant a big shnoz lol), what would they be "filtering" out with those mask? Does the above world stink? o.o

I always thought it was a gasmask or something for the ones with poofy masks. In the history of FF they've always looked like a less decrepit version of gollum.

^^ Thanks / And yeah, that would make some sense! o.o While drilling all day and synth'ing loads of dangerous bombs for tossing at us Adventurers, one could understand the need for filtering out those deadly fumes. lol But what of the goblin that's all done for the day? Surely they have to take that mask off for eating and... well... eating right?

^^ Thanks / And great link! Looks like the majority of Goblins throughout FF history have big shnoz's!! Some don't, but every Goblin I've ever seen has some form of big nose... but that still doesn't explain why our Goblins cover theirs lol

This also occurred to me. All Gobbies have Masks to filter the smell of burning when they Bomb Toss you, use Frypan or Crispy Candle (those latter 2 just crack me up)................
