rather it be apart of an achievement as a pity system if you don't have it in 10 clears
I wouldn't spend 8 books or w/e on a mount and I'm sure most people are the same
As time progresses, it will become easy to "unsync" farm it.
but............
Oh if you PUG it. Right
Yup, just wait for it to get old. The tier will get easier with each major patch until you can unsync in 7.0
waiting for it to get old isnt an option because each 2nd patch will have a new mount you want to get
You don't even have to see big titan, let alone the "don't talk to me or my son ever again" phase with current gear either.
:I I really don't get why we even need this. You want something only found in Savage, as a reward for completing Savage, then do Savage. Simple as. Once it stops being a novelty, you can just unsynch it and blitz through it. It's not FOMO or anything, it's no different than waiting for missed event items to be placed on Mog Station. Unlike the Hellhound Armor which you needed to be in the top 100 in PvP to obtain (ludicrously hard on its own + RNG teams), you actually can obtain this at any given time. Just pick your poison: do you want to do savage and work hard for it, or do you want to wait until the mount is easier to get?
E12S phase 1 is done after Junction Titan now. But unfortunately, we'll never be able to skip Basic Relativity on phase 2 since it's the hardest Relativity and the first one.
I don't see the problem with making the mount obtainable with the book you get from the fight. If you're not in a static, you're not guaranteed the mount even if you put the work in, and if you're willing to trade the weapon from the books for the mount, then that's your choice.
I think this makes a lot of sense. Make it like 8 books or something and call it a day. Can be frustrating if you dont get it for several lockouts, so the option to buy with books would be nice.
Wouldn't cause any harm, and would probably take a singular line of code per tier to implement. +1
Anyone arguing against this is just being a sad contrarian.
This is actually untrue. You cannot obtain the mount at any given time. The mount is on the weekly lockout. If you don't win the roll, you dont get the mount. If you clear tuesday and dont get the mount, you can't magically say "Well ill just get it tomorrow" and make it work.
nothing wrong with allowing people the option to choose. i don't understand why people are against it, if you don't want to spend the books, then don't. if others have their BIS and just need the mount? then they have other options than being stuck in weekly lockouts with pugs and no way to guarantee you're going to get the mount. 8 books is a lot, it will still keep the content relevant and people will still do their weekly p8s grind
So, after years of Savage mount drops being as they are, we now need a new method to pick them up because....
ignoring the fact that people have been requesting this almost every tier... you're suggesting that just because its been this way for years that it doesn't need change? really?
before they added totems for extreme fights, there wasn't any for years. before they added, fixed, and moved data centers, we just dealt with the bad latency for years. before they added normal / story mode, people just had to not see the raid story or be forced into content they didn't like to see the story for years. there was a time we didn't have glamour or dye options, there was a time atma and other relic related drops were less than a 1 percent drop per fate / dungeon etc, we had to deal with that for years... hopefully you get the point.
just because something has been the same for years doesn't mean it cant be changed / fixed / made better. if anything, since it seems people are being offended by this suggestion, make it so that you can buy the mount with books halfway through the tier, that way at least people have some sort of hope instead of fighting RNG in PF.
So after years of using quill and ink, society would need to constantly keep them instead of pens and pencils, becauuuuseee?
Like, Deveryn, I won't deny that maybe people are approaching this as too simplistic given the sort of rewards they are... But wording it like this? Holding onto the past and saying it's a good design just because "it works"? I mean sure, life's good, but if it can be better, why not?
So we're gonna sit here and compare the plight of the savage raider to minorities who have actually suffered and died at the hands of legit assholes. Sure, let's unpack this some more. Nothing says "I don't care about this topic either" like bringing up some insane bullshit like that.
Comparison is extreme yes, but the core logic really weak in both cases. You're basically saying that status quo should never change because... it would upset the status quo. Why yes, that's the point of change.
You should have at least tried to argue that people were happy with the current system, as it stands your whole point feels lazy.
The thing is ... I didn't actually say that it shouldn't change because it would upset the status quo. All I've ever said is you can eventually get it.
If anything is lazy, it's the initial argument and its support. People seem happy, there I said it. :p I felt like it was a given considering the support this isn't getting.
No? At all. It's not about the content itself, but rather the argument you used. "Just because we're functioning as it is, why should we change it?"
When clearly, if people want to see it changed and find the system no longer applies, then why not suggest it?
If you have anything to say about the analogy itself, sure, probably not the best. BUT I couldn't come up with a better one. Maybe you can :P Like, I won't say that it wasn't an extreme thing to say; it was. But I wasn't seeking to compare the two situations, simply illustrating the point of what I was going to say after. Nor was I trying to offend anyone by it.
But the argument still stands. Just because it worked in the past doesn't mean we haven't moved on and could probably do with better.
And yeah, I'm aware people are happy. I'm also aware people are unhappy. I'm not really taking much of a side other than "okay, the solution people provided seems a little too simple for what it is". But only because I feel like mounts and such aren't the same as gearsets. They're novelty items, and while I don't think they should cost 99 off the bat (that's also pretty stupid, like wtf. I KNOW people who ran savage 99x for a mount), I also don't think 8 is a decent number for it. Maybe bump it up a bit, but not to the 90's.
Edit: Dev, I thought of a better line. Gonna go edit it!
Maybe some day you'll catch the hint that you're better served speaking directly to something and maybe asking for clarification instead of sounding the a jackass while trying to be clever.
At any rate, I was fishing for an answer because simply telling them to do something like this (where the opportunities get easier and easier) begs for a little more than just I want my mount now.
Maybe one day you'll understand that all you do is whinge about people wanting to improve upon the game and at the very least acknowledge that the game has really old systems that need improvement. You know, rather than always acting like a jerk and being abrasive to people. Because I've seriously never seen you not be caustic on any thread that asks for changes.
...jesus, did you have to be an arse about this? Anyway, I edited the quote for you. Take it or leave it, I don't care.
Also, no you weren't fishing, you were being caustic. I return you the same words:
Stop going into threads acting like a jerk. If you want an answer, be direct. Stop fishing, otherwise you'll be met with snark and vagueness. Why are YOU beating around the bush if your intentions aren't clear?
And I mean, have you ever tried to farm for a mount without waiting until its price got lowered? It's a novelty item, sure, but it doesn't warrant 99 runs of it to bypass an already strict RNG. It's just a mount. That level of dedication just isn't worth it for a mount.
tbh I take the L he said about me. It's a stupid habit that I have and I should stop doing that.
But there are manners even when pointing out flaws. He can be clever all he wants. Attitudes like these are why nobody takes FireMage seriously, and he's only alienating those who can agree with him.
Like, I get it. It wasn't the best of things to say. But there's no need to rub the person all over the carpet after pointing it out.
With jerks like these, no wonder people say the forums suck. It's not the constant negativity. It's people attitudes.
Still, whatever. Thing's edited. Y'all can argue about mounts for all I care.
I'm up for this... Gate it behind 8 books, it's a good compromise that would have zero impact on static players.
I'm a PF raider and the loot system is simply atrocious for us.
I'm going back trying to gear an alt job, and as of today's clear, I'm literally on my fifth week of P5S without a single loot win, only feeding on those pity books. It's especially bad when you see someone getting multiple loot chests in the same run, while others get zero.
How to solve this without impacting Static? Maybe make a checkbox option to have the loot work like in the normal mode: not able to win multiple items at once (that, of course, until the tier loot is unrestricted in the following patch).
With a bit more use though, no? :o I mean, ok sure, after a while it becomes glamour. Because that's how Vertical Progression works xD
But one helps you clear fights and all that. The other's just one more mount among the many we have. It's not the same, at least for as long as the content is viable.
