SE pls end X\FC# per account & remove GrndFathered multiple houses owned by 1 person

Square enix,please abolish allowing multiple Free Companys for one account & therefore,empty several houses owned by the same person.

Please reconsider the grandfathering for multiple houses holders as many players are still homeless & while some servers "might" have plots still opened,I am 110% positive that a bunch of servers are actually stuck with clogged plots because of this.

It was ok to a specific point,but now players are bragging about it saying that they got harrassed as an argument if not as an excuse for owning way too many in my & many others opinion.

The current housing situation is just as unfair as the last time new wards got released & homeless players got blocked from purchasing because of the moratorium that was set.

OR, better option: SE just fixes the housing issue by not making it a limited resource, since that is the real problem here. So long as people keep turning on each other and pointing fingers, and fighting over these petty things, SE will never do anything to fix the real problem, which is housing being a finite resource.

It would be a huge PR disaster for them to remove houses from people that earned them by breaking no rules(at the time). Even then, if they did go through with that, it would solve nothing. What minor amount of houses it would open up would be taken within a day, and then people would be right back to square one of there simply not being enough homes to go around on some servers, and people would find a new thing to be upset about, new people to attack/demonize. The cycle won't stop until we turn our sights on SE, rather than each other.

easiest way : review the ToS so ppl who had more than 2 houses(fc and personal) in a server per account is violating ToS.

That would be a Public Relations nightmare, and genuinely bad for business. It would damage the trust the consumers have for the company.

It won't be a PR disaster to do so, gameplay and requirements may change over time, it say so in the ToS, as mentioned before could add in so you need 10 subs to have FC alts not included, can of course add an alt to another FC if want to be in 2 FC's or more, but would not count as a sub as already supporting an FC with first character in one, stop giving a few people special rights that no one else can obtain with open resources, as for own server Zodiark, plenty of housing to be found still in the gobles, the mist, even a shirogane house here and there and lavender beds too.

But it is a limited resource and people having more than one spreading it out on alts is simply not cool, and worse some of those said openly brag about it and being rude towards people in general on the wards they own and on the forum.

Not a fan on just adding more wards, as it would lead to empty wards with just 1 or 2 houses in it as it is, and would make the areas barren or even lesser populated as it is, if anything free up housing with current ways and say that new rules has to be followed.

It really wouldn't. While poorly implemented, they have outright stated numerous times they never intended for players to have multiple houses. Furthermore, you'd piss off less than a 100 people while making many more happy. Someone with twelve houses may throw a fit and quit, but that opens up twelve houses to other players. It wouldn't hurt their business in the slightest.

Multiple house owners have put way too much time into the game, leveling characters, making gil, all with paid subscriptions, no different than any other player, if they retroactively did this, it would in fact be a PR nightmare, there are way more multiple house owners out there than people realize, and they would have to retroactively remove weapons, gear, levels, achievements, and so on just to make it fair acorss the board. Any rules they do in fact change in the future, won't involve any retoractive removal, just change things going forward, as one could point to 4.3. They will never take anything away in the game that was earned fairly within the rules......sorry....but this thread is a big fat dream.

I have read it. Believe it or not, I read and reread it and memorized it in the weeks before 4.2 cause I'm OCD like that . Did you read it? I don't think so. Because, if you had you would have seen this:

Each service account may only possess one free company estate hall and one private estate per World.

Once this limit has been reached, it is not possible to purchase further plots of land in the same World on that service account, including separate characters on the same World.

* Players possessing housing above this limit prior to patch 4.2 will not be affected by this change.
* It is possible to relocate estate halls to empty plots

Honestly, after this weekend's threads, I'm all for this.

I didn't care until a nolifer wanted a pat on the back for living in game. Don't compare limited to unlimited resources, that's just foolish. Secondly if they took your houses and you quit...it wouldn't matter because they would get the remaining 12 subs with new houses for much longer as they decorated and reran old content, or leveled crafter, as you said you've spent hours, you've done everything, your business isn't really even needed at this point. Sure a bunch would quit but many more would resubmit for much longer and 12 subs = more money than your 1 a month.

Where exactly is your logic? How is it exploit? It's in my rules and ToS. I'll post it again because you might have missed it

Each service account may only possess one free company estate hall and one private estate per World.

Once this limit has been reached, it is not possible to purchase further plots of land in the same World on that service account, including separate characters on the same World.

I did just learn how to do math in Ridorana, hmm....

If 1,000 players have an average of 4 houses each and SE takes those away, 1,000 people will #ragequit and 4,000 people will get new houses. Even if those numbers are off, there are going to be more available houses than angry players, else you wouldn't be multi-house owners.

I do believe that 4,000 happy players > 1,000 angry players. People have raised a stink over worse and it went nowhere. The fanfest fiasco enraged more players than own multiple houses and it was barely a blip on the radar.

And again. Throw me into the "bullying the poor multi-house owner bucket" all you want now, but you're really just continuing to dig a hole for yourself. I'm seeing a lot more "I didn't care until this happened and now I think you're terrible" comments then "uwu poor babies".

Keep it up, more fuel for the fire.

And in case you didn't know what the rules were, when housing, (private and FC) was implemented many years ago:

Requirements
Character with level 50 in 1 of the classes.
Second Lieutenant in 1 of the Grand Companies for Personal Housing. Rank 6 or higher Free Company for Free Company Housing.

Notice how it says CHARACTER? So, a deluxe account could have 1, or 2, or 4, or 8. And if you were crazy enough to level up and rank up 8 characters (which I didnt cause I don't have 16houses), then you were 100% within your ToS and rights to do so. I'm just pointing out the actual facts.

Please enlighten me. How would you solve the issue of Balmung or the many other servers with 12-20k players? There will NEVER be enough supply. SE won't make it instanced. They've alrey said that. I'm curious how would you make ALL 20k Balmung players happy with their 1 personal and 1 FC houses? Besides magically making 40k plots appear. One FC and one personal per account still means that 90% of Balmung has nothing. Nobody can win..

how is it unfair? People took the time, put in the work, and have multiple houses. It was a great source of income, just like RL flipping FC's :P There is a reason for something called being grandfather. people did nothing wrong were just more creative and smarter than others. Calling things unfair is just an excuse that people want things for not even trying.

Bottom line. Players will ALWAYS be salty unless we go to instanced. Then players can pre-order 1,2, or 500 plots if they desire.

While ToS can be revised, it would still be unfair to long term and loyal members. I doubt they want that kind of backlash.

If you'll notice, I said nothing about Balmung, and nothing about making all the players happy. I said making more players happy. I don't care about Balmung and I never have.

Edit: I also am full aware that it's "allowed" under current rules, and that there are ways around it that are not technically circumventing the current rules. I'm just saying that I'm fine with the idea of them changing those rules.

Reasons for multiple homes;

FC ( I solo FC ) Can still be sold and bypass ownership and cooling period if done properly.

Homes can then be turned to FC homes and repeat cycles. Only draw back now is that SE will not allow any more multiple homes. Once people lose it they can't buy extras. Lame.

Eventually things will get smoother, people now a days fail to see the whole purpose of HONEST members making gil.

ALmost got all classes on same character to max, what makes that different from having 8 alts doign the same just with 1-2 classes? it does not take years to level up up 8 alts, could probably be ready in a day per 1 alt, and if paying for it could have lvl60 same day all or something, please stop referering to stuff that is not a limited resource as well, that is just a request... 10 houses is like 15million gil if all small houses, 150millions if all medium and 500millions if all large... I don't get what make the people so special about it as it is?

Well, you might not care about Balmung, but Mateus, behemoth, Excalibur, and a few others aren't far behind. How would you satiate the hungry players? Besides instanced housing (because SE refuses). I'm honestly asking. Cause I have raked my brain and can't think of a way to server them all. Until they are all happy with two houses (1 FC and 1 personal), there will be complaining.

Multiple house owners refuse to give up their property is one of the reasons, 4 people can share a home, it is not SE's fault, the only fault they did was to grandfather people with multiple homes, maybe in a way hoping they would see the benefit for actually helping out and doing a difference by giving up some of the plots to others.. or just asking for the value plot costed.

You still aren't answering my question. Besides freeing up a hundred or two plots from multi plot owners, how would YOU handle the hungry players who want more. About 10k more houses?

Besides on Ultros. We STILL have over 140 empty plots rotting away. Even mist and lav beds houses near river/beach. I don't need to give up anything for the hungry buyers. There's fields and fields of housing open right now. O even saw a large house sitting for ten hrs last weekend. Make an alt and I'll show you. Some wards have 10 empty houses at lowest prices. If you are thirsty, come to Ultros to drink.

You do realize multiple home owners, ( honest ones ) used this as a solution for storage space as solo FC's. In the past I use to Flip FC's as a way to generate income on the side. Not because I don't want to get rid of it. It was productive for gardening, gathering supplies on expeditions, and even today do so as well. SE has limited the amount of houses that can be purchased and to be fair has even placed a Cool down on it to avoid camping plots. As of right now the only way around it is FC turn overs and is still a high risk on trade. Eventually it will balance out with demolishing, new areas, expansions, ect. Another thing I do is rent my FC out as well to people who don't have it while they find one. Win Win in my opinion. I mean why else would people want large estates rank 8 maxed outs?

Answer this one, how many people that is not your alt's or other accounts do you have as tenants? am opposed to the issue as sooner or later servers will fill out, why not solve the problem now rather than later when it can get real fierce is all I am saying and been appealing to most of all, I don't need to answer your question as it is as I am only taking part in a debate and mostly been taking part in being opposed this stuff and answered or reacted to some of your ideas in the most polite way possible, though you probably see it as harrashment, which it is certainly not.

Off the top of my head, I believe I have five friends total who are tenants. One doesn't log on but once every two months so he didn't want to own a house (believe me I tried to buy one for him). Another doesn't craft and so make stuff for her to move into her apt and I let her practice designing in my lav beds small. I have another friend who is taking a break from game until next summer so he wanted to be my tenant. All my other FC mates, and ls members , I've bought or helped them with their first apt or cottage. I've even helped out random strangers who were kind and friendly and given them 4m to buy a cottage. Last night in fact I gave 2m to a guy who wanted a shiro small for his small FC of six. He was nice and I wanted a neighbor. That plot had been sitting for days.

Actually your math is off but it's okay you're using Lighthouse logic where things are simple :P.

The problem is your math is straightforward but more variables actually exist than the math you outline. Each world has more than one person who owns multiple houses (this is more than a guess than a known fact but it wouldn't surprise me) and the majority of worlds (I think every world but four) still has a lot of available houses (most at the bottom of the barrel pricing and auto demolitions have still been happening).... your math doesn't take any of that into account.

The other problem is the fact that the problem itself can't be whittled down to a simple math problem because there would be far reaching consequences if they did what is outlined in the OP... bad press is never good... especially given the fact that the issues have always been based off SE's decisions (with all the stuff they have done to Grand Companies, why don't they just add a workshop in there, why don't they make apartments larger and have a balcony/patio to have a garden?).

I do think were getting sick of these threads (but it has broken up the monotony of people wailing at the cash shop)

There are around 4.3K houses on each server if my memory is correct. For any of the large servers this mean there is only enough housing for 20% - 25% of of the players. The number of houses freed up would be minimal and do nothing to relieve the housing demand n or improve ones chance at obtaining one. There is nothing that can be done to work around the current system flaws other than adding enough wards for every player that wants a house to have a house. With SE's current implementation blindly adding wards to meet the large server demand means there will be wasted server resources on the smaller and mid-sized servers. The only way to truly get housing fixed is to quit blaming other players as the reason a person cannot get a house and demand that SE come up with a system that can scale to meet the housing demand. There are multiple ways to handle this on SE's part. They could create a new parallel fully instanced housing system that provides a complete inside and outside. They could also update the apartments to have multiple sizes and find a way for them to also have full access to gardening. What they can't do is keep sweeping the problem under the rug because they would have to admit they blew it when it came to housing.

Not allowing multiple house owners to continue to own their their houses won't change the odds of anyone else being able to buy a house. The problem is with the whole housing system not the players. With the way SE currently implements housing there will never be enough houses for the large servers without have wasted resources on the small and mid-sized servers. The other players aren't at fault for you or others not being able to buy a house. The only entity at fault is SE for providing a poorly designed housing system and refusing to fix the design.

There are only something like 4.3K houses per server so it wouldn't really improve the player to house ratio on each server. Not to mention there aren't that many multiple house owners out there by comparison to single owner or single/FC owners. I also think they are hurting their own cause by bringing up other threads or bragging in the case of the multiple personality player with all of the FC's. But to repeat myself, I'm an old fart so am allowed to, the problem is squarely in SE's area of responsibility. As long as players blame other players it allows them to band-aid and ignore the design problem.

That being said, none of my "math" had anything to do with trying to alleviate the housing supply and demand. That's a completely separate issue in my mind, and one that it's pretty clear SE has no plans on fixing. Is that bad? Probably, but again, not where my "math" came from.

My math came from the viewpoint that pissing off a small number of players < making other players happy and is in no way the "PR Nightmare" it's being painted as. Especially considering the fact that most of the people advertising their multiple houses have larges, mediums, and coveted locations, which will make people much happier than yet another Goblet #22.

I'm 100% being petty, but eh... I feel like it fits in with these threads.

If I could send you a pm via responding to a regular reply I would, but to my knowledge you can't do that on these forums.

I get the pettiness, I don't like it (but to be fair I doubt anyone can say they haven't been petty about something at some time in their lives) but I can understand where it comes from, I also don't think these multiple threads are helping (probably making it worse in my opinion).

Even if you take the math out of the equation (pardon the pun) at the end of the day it still won't be enough and you'll actually be upsetting two sides... those who lost houses and those who still did not get them. There is also know way of knowing how many houses will actually be produced in order to figure out which side will have more (If I was going to argue the odds it would be the unhappy side, only because there are servers that still have tons of options open and folks refuse to buy them still)

One last final thought to add to this topic as a whole. In my experience the forums is not an actual designation of the opinions of the folks who play this game (perhaps the Japanese forums than the NA/EU forums) and that's across multiple games not just this one. I know of several people in game who don't want a house because they don't want to waste the time on it (and some of them get a little angry when resources are used to make or update those areas, they have problems in my book). One can also use the fact that their are houses still available that it's not just folks want housing, they want the housing they want in particular (most folks don't want to live in the Goblet on most worlds for some reason, hmmm the outside of it I could understand, the middle of it is quite pretty).
