So in the game there are about 2880 houses. If even a fourth of those. were only available to FCs then there would be more then enough houses for every FC to actually have a house. Now, I'm not saying cut back existing houses,and force people to vacate, but if there were 3 wards per residential area then that's still 720. If they can only be purchased by FCs then I would bet that would help quite a bit. The thing is not everyone really wants a house. BUT, just about everyone wants their FC to have a house. Hell if it was even just 1 ward per it would still help a little. Thing is there are people who just worked and saved with their FC so their FC could get a house and now we are stuck sitting on 35 mil just praying that a house will come along. And we only want one that's all I think a FC should be able to have a HQ it's part of playing the game. :(

like need to have X number of active players.

They used to have housing restricted to FCs when they first came out. Trying to go back to that now they would have to have a ward specifically for FCs only. Maybe have personal housing and FC housing be separate might alleviate some issues. But until they can figure out a way that works for everyone it'll be tough. Instanced housing would be nice, but I've said on another post, how much money/time/resources are they really willing to spend to create more server space for a non critical game item?

The big thing about instanced housing is that it will create places where there are no people. Someone on the forums came up with the idea of having houses that are little private islands, and that might work but it would have to be Small houses. The reason I think this is because having anything bigger would have people abandoning small houses in the wards. The thing is, my fc had a house. We got rid of it to get a bigger house. 4.1 hit and we scrambled, and got nothing. all we want is a place to meet up,stable our chocobos and log out when we are done for the day a small instanced house on a island would do just that. Even if it's just instanced for FCs it would still be better then what we have now, being nothing.
That being said, sure it may be a non critical game item, but by god we pay to play this game. Shouldn't we be able to enjoy all of it? -

Yeppers. Most of the houses on Balmung were taken by individuals rather than FCs, and on some servers you have FCs that span multiple FCs with the same tag that also have multiple houses. SE should have left the subdivisions for individuals and the main areas for FCs only. The crystal clear lack of a singular eff from SE during the rollout of this patch is very telling.
Also, housing is a larger portion of the game to some than others; this is especially true on RP servers. One could consider savage raiding non-critical; that's just too subjective. For my FC it was just too big a deal to cope with. In my family alone we had three accounts which are all unsubbed as of yesterday. We did everything right to get the darn place and all I got for my efforts was a lost night of sleep and a crappy 11 hour work day. -

That being said, I feel like there should be at least 1 ward in ever housing area that is strictly FC only, with checks and balances put in places so the houses aren't owned by single player FCs that are just players trying to cheat the system. -

Start off with a single instanced small plot and the FC can upgrade it to larger sizes if they desire. Even possibly give crafters more stuff to make and create an XL format only available through this for an FC. Most housing zones have unused doors that could be access points from the current residential areas.
