I'd suggest contacting your internet provider to fix this issue.
The latency is a much more significant problem in EX than HM. HM my FC and I never had the issue so many complained of where WotL or LS would go off and people swear up and down they were out of ability's path/radius. In EX, over half my group consistently report this issue.
It isn't an internet provider issue it's on Square, every group i go in someone has latency issues and you can see it, they are no where near wotl and they still get hit.
Well, somehow, some of us are able to do Titan EX no problem despite these supposed S-E latency issues. If these problems are unique to certain players, this suggests an ISP issue. If these problems were widespread, then why are some of us able to reliably dodge everything that Titan throws at us?
I have lag too. Despite being completely out of the Plumes/Landslide graphic on my screen, I know when I've moved too slowly and am about to get hit. Everyone has it. It's the nature of internet gaming.
Lol. If I had a dollar for every time an ISP pointed blame to someone else.....
Personally I blame people playing on bare minimum hardware for a good chunk of those cases. Hard to send your player info effeciently when your CPU is pegged at 80+%
If plums/LS time is adjusted for lagging users than for the majority with no issues will see the effects, the fight will be a complete joke.
just going to say this but you can run just about any MMO with minimum settings, and still not have the latency issues that you do with titan. typically what you get is a lot of graphical lag that WOULDN'T be seen on other players which means that it is in the networking end, not the player end. Honestly what this means is that it would be either an ISP issue or an issue with SE's servers, but since my ISP told me to contact SE and battle ping or another such service hasnt fixed my issues with latency in Titan and a couple of other primal fights im just going to say that it means SE needs to either: A, retune these fights for those that do have latency issues. Of B, update the hell out of there Servers.
The name of that forum is misleading. It should really be "accepted bug reports" or something, because it's not really for things they've accepted as a legitimate bug. It's for bug reports that contain enough information and correct formatting for them not to throw away based solely on lack of information. It's got nothing to do with the legitimacy of the bugs themselves.
At any point did you ever question the validity of these claims?
When you move your character on your screen, that movement is not immediate. Your character's movement actually happens x.xxx seconds later on the servers than it does on your screen. The amount of time varies depending on your latency with S-E's servers.
Now, some people think that if they are out of the color-changing floor when the spell finishes casting, they should be completely safe from the spell. When they die, they cry "lag". Sometimes, it is a legitimate lag spike and shitty ping. Sometimes, they just didn't move quick enough and don't seem to understand the concept of latency, so they are quick to blame lag and claim that their death is unfair.
So, of those "thousands of players" who are hit by this issue, how many of them have legitimately bad lag and how many of them simply don't realize how the internet works? The people complaining about this issue is a mixture of both. How do you know which are legitimate and which aren't? How do you know what percentage of these complaints are legitimate.
Neither of us will ever know. However, all I do know is that EX Titan is killed countless times every day. On that note, how can you reliably say that this is a universal problem and that it's S-E's fault?
It's not latency, you didn't move fast enough. Titan is scripted for a reason.
If you play Titan below 30 FPS or watch Youp*rn at the same time ...
... you gonna have a bad time.
This game is based on server positioning calculation/estimates, not client side (like other MMO's). In this case you will always be at the mercy of your internet, some internet provider hub, or SE servers, basically anything between them and you can be an issue.
So essentially the issue will never be "fixed" because server side models are like this, consider it functioning as intended.
Consider this scenario.
A server with 40,000 active players has 40 'legitimately' complaining about a latency issue. (I'm not talking /airquotes "lag" excuses)
Let's assume the real number of people affected is 10x as much, so ~400.
1%.
Is the issue that affects 1% of an entire server population realistically something effecting the SE server as a whole?
I mean, I don't math good, but the odds are there is an external influence to those numbers. Outside of SE's scope.
Some nights I can do this fight no problem, other nights its terrible. Last week was fine, this week, not so much.
As for people saying 'know the rotations,' that doesn't help much when you have 3-4 second freeze prior to landslide, and then the markers appear at the same time as the attack goes off... all you can do is hope someone didn't lure it off-centre and you're in a safe spot :x
When I'm not getting lag we generally one-shot it. It's so frustrating having a fight which is so unforgiving and so badly affected by lag.
Shame, because I do enjoy the fight otherwise. Music's badass!
I can indeed reliably say that it's a problem~ I can also reliably say that those not affected by this problem....don't see it as a problem~ go figure huh?
When you end up standing still for 10+seconds and then get the entire battle on fastforward~ having eaten a WoL/Bombs/3-5way landslide in the seconds that NOTHING WAS HAPPENING ON YOUR SCREEN, do you want to again tell me that it's "I didn't dodge well enough".
In Guildwars 2, I can stand on the very edge of an aoe 100% of the time and never get hit. FFXiv? atleast 80% of the time I'm 3-4foot from the edge and guess what? Dead to double WoL or 3-5way landslide.
Alright then. So, when some people are affected by it and most people aren't, would you agree that the problem is not universal and depends on your ISP?
Also, it actually doesn't matter how far you are standing away from the AoE. Latency has nothing to do with that. What does matter is how long it's been since you've gotten out of the AoE. Latency doesn't affect distance, just time.
What you're describing is not an effect of latency. Latency is the communication delay between you and the server. Even with a latency of 500 (which is on the high end of what an Australian would see connecting to the NA servers) you would still see the battlefield updating every half second. What you describe is packet loss, which is where data is being lost when communicating the server. Packet loss is almost never caused by the server you're trying to communicate with, and rather is caused most often by part of the network in between you and the server (such as the oft reported issues with the Level3 data center).
Square Enix has very little sway in fixing that issue.
If you're going to rant about something ranting about how tightly tuned and unforgiving the fight is would serve a better purpose.
