[dev1079][Poll] Do you want CAPPED dungeons, or uncapped?

Simple poll with 2 choices, and please feel free to discuss.

- Do you want Instanced Dungeons to Impose a CAP (Meaning a restriction in level that would cause you to run a dungeon as a r30 rather than a r50) on players entering?

Yes I do want a cap and like the appropriate post

And maybe to be fair you should put optional cap, they way you word it clearly implies you feel cap is greatly inferior. You kinda influence weak minded people.

Its not a debate post, it's a true poll to see where the community stands.

I say please leave them uncapped.. I like the sense that I can solo, duo , or trio them at a higher level..

Making the capped will make it like ffxi, which would cause waiting for party members and such... no thanks.

I respect your opinion, however I feel that Leaving them uncapped with just encourage the High Ranks/levels to Steamroll through them, and then after awhile it will just get old and people will complain how the Dungeons were to easy where's the "difficulty" blah blah blah. In the end.. it will just be another Arguement to add to the Forums ( Calling it)

Capped because I want to do something thats - you know -- hard in the game.

leave them uncapped.

What should dissuade higher lvl players from burning through the lower level dungeons is that the rewards are for a lower level.

No point in wasting your time with a lvl 25 dungeon when the best stuff you get is for lvl 25 class.

I agree, everything in this game Aside from certain NMs is on Easy mode"

Like you said I want something that's Challenging and Thrilling, that in the end of the Dungeon I can feel I "actually" Accomplished something.

This should be -1 to the uncapped side, because he doesn't even know he can't solo duo or trio unless he boxes alts.

Or they could do something smart and use it as a precursor to other quest that expand the games SL. Shouldn't only be about gear.

Or the people with high ranks should try the R50 dungeon, that's where the difficulty is. If you're going to b**** about the difficulty of the R30 dungeon while playing through it as a R50, then you're not right in the head.

Give us Capped dungeons and higher ranks will QQ because they can't do that.
Give us Uncapped dungeons and higher ranks will QQ for the awful easiness.

I suggest, leave it Uncapped. I prefer that everybody does the dungeon even if a player has only high-ranked classes. Who is too high and knows it, it can't do anything but do the dungeon or roll another character.

Players are not going to be able to solo, duo or trio the dungeons: "Rank 25+ raids will require four players to enter, and rank 45+ raids will require a full party of 8". Won't be able to DC from the party on purpose to try and solo it either I don't think as they have already stated that if you DC and re-log then you will re-join the party. Unless your other party members are prepared to not log back in for an hour! lol

Anyway, I voted for having it capped. Although I see both sides of the argument, there is no real compromise I can see to make everyone happy but the main argument in the other thread seems to concern not having a challenge if rank 50s are allowed into a low level dungeon. So, although it takes freedom of choice away from players to make up their own minds, lets cap them and get it over and done with! :)

Cap the 25+ dungeon from 25-45 maybe with scaled content appropriate (perhaps also helping with more replay value for the lower level dungeon and gear because of the bigger range in ranks/levels that can enter), and the 45+ dungeon from 45-50 with extremely challenging content (kind of endgame but not really if you see what I mean). ?

I can see the other sides points as well, but if the r30 dungeon is capped, I will simply ignore it.

And if you can't comprehend that people like challenging R30 content just as much as R50 content you don't have what it takes to contribute advice to a MMORPG developer.

The difficulty should be in both areas. R30 is not inherently easier than R50. R50 is not inherently better than R30. You fail the task.

Exactly the two Dungeons are ment to pose a "Difficulty Setting". By Using R50's in a R30 Dungeons it defeats the purpose of the word "Difficulty".

This is the exact reason why it needs to be capped (at least the R30 Dungeon anyhow). R50 Dungeon doesn't need to be capped since cap is already @ R50 :P

What the hell are you talking about? I'm talking about R50s complaining about the difficulty of something that wasn't made for their rank. They should go to the R50 dungeon if they want something challenging for their R50 character.

Sorry, but at r50 I don't see anything challenging about a r30, 4 man dungeon.

I don't care.
Anytime soon SE will increase the lvl cap. I'll start to bother there at higher level.

But if you were capped to an appropriate rank/level of 30 on your MRD in the 4 man dungeon, it would be challenging would it not >.>?

Leaving the R30 Dungeon uncapped isn't Challenging. (which will result in people crying about it.)

If I wanted challenging r30 content, I'll run it at r30. Being past that point, there is no reward for me worth taking 60 minutes of my game time to run through content that I passed by 20 levels ago.

I wouldn't be so sure of that... I'd put a cap increase at least 8 months down the line at the earliest..

its funny cuz this is the entire arguement

people who dont have 50s arent asking for a cap, its 50s asking for it to give themselves another piece of challenging content that wasnt meant to be challenging for 50s

Your kinda missing the point.. though I do agree with you that R50 should do R50 Dungeons. However, What if this R50 wants to do a R30 Dungeon but his Other classes are either below min. rank or kinda too high to do the R30 Dungeon?

R30 Dungeon:

R25- Impossible to Gauge ( Since its really an R30 Dungeon)
R30- High Difficulty (Very Tough)
R35- Somewhat Difficult (Tough)
R40- Difficult (Even Match)
R45- Easy (Easy Pray)
R50- Steamroll ( Too Weak to be Worthwhile)

That is how I look at it when the R30's are left uncapped

Yep. And in the same sense that the game doesn't reward you with SP when you beat an "Easy Prey" mob, why should the game reward you with good Rank 30 loot for beating an "Easy Prey" dungeon?

low sp for killing mobs lower then you
lower gear for killing mobs lower then you

rank 30 gear isnt rank 50 gear, youll get gear thats meant for people at the range it was attached to

we arent talking about rank 50 gear here!

Because the easy prey mob may not reward me with good SP, but it doesn't change the loot that it drops.

I want the unwritten third option - enemy levels that increase based on average player level. If four rank 50's want to spend an hour fighting challenging enemies for rank 30 gear then more power to them. Their time would better be spent in the rank 45+ dungeon for the amount of effort they'd be required to put forth in both situations. They already have code to scale enemy rank up with the leve difficulty system. It'd be a lot easier for them to do this automatically in the dungeons than to try to cap the players instead.

Also, my highest rank is 43 by the way - so I currently only qualify for the 25+ dungeon.

What is the incentive for someone with all their levels above 40 to run a r30 Dungeon?
