PVP Balances Required

1. Sleep is overpowered, specially comboed with swiftcast. It needs nerf. 30 sec is crazy. It should be just 5 seconds

2. Pvp lobby wait time is 2 minutes, this should be set to 30 seconds only.

3. Morale - can somebody explain this clearly? (does this add additional damage to people with zero morale resistance as well?) i90 Gear > i70 PVP gear?

4. Reset PVP skill item are very expensive.

5. Wolf Mark Earned needs to be increased.

Feel free to add any balance changes in PVP in your mind.

Sleep is overpowered in the lower tiers, yeah. As soon as people get Purify, Fetter Wards, Sleep Resist materia and such, it doesn't do much. A good group with the right gear trivializes Sleep and demolishes teams that rely on it.

I agree on everything else. Wolf Mark might need a little tweak. Wait timer, I'm not sure. 2 minutes is too much for premades but I don't know for randoms.

Sleep isn't nearly half as overpowered as you think. SMN on the other hand...

Yeah.. SMN are overpowered specially if there are two SMN. Basically SMN> Sleep> Everything Else!!!

SMN really shouldn't have access to a raise.

Being breathed on shouldn't instantly cancel any cast. Spell pushback is fine. Having a hardcasted 4s Flare stopped at 3.95s when a Bard unintentionally auto-attacks you as he tabs through targets is just silly.

1. Sleep is fine as is. Don't go into PvP with PvE gear expecting to pawn n00bz

2. The 2 minute wait time is fine. It gives people using DF time to strategize. Though maybe they could cut it down to 1 min for premade parties

3. From what I was told, HQ ilvl 55 PvP gear > PvE ilvl 90 gear by a little bit. The ilvl 70 PvP stuff makes a big difference compared to the ilvl 90 gear. Morale increases your defense against other players.

4. I agree. It discourages playing with multiple jobs

4. Wolf mark gain is fine, imo. PvP gear should take a while to get since there isn't much PvP content at the moment.

2 minutes is about 1 and a half minutes too long. I have played almost 150 matches so far, 2 minutes each match = lots of wasted hours. You never need 2 minutes to make a strat and buff up.

1- LOL to saying sleep is not op, it is ridiculously stronger than all others cc, and a game balance shouldn't be focused on high end skills and gear ffs. And yes purify, then you just get 15s sleep(-.-,).
Oh and don't even think about going for the first time into pvp in 1 month(maybe even 1-2weeks) those pvp actions the high ranked ones have will just crush you... it all needs serious work.
I can't even imagine it when a caster party(3 casters) have non interrupt spell for 20s + 30s 40% damage reduction with 100 potency regen bubble(SERIOUSLY?!), oh and healer"you can't touch me" spell ... all the while running like stupid... the whole casting mechanics needs total re balance.

2 - Yeah this is just silly.

3- Ilvl 90 pve > ilvl 70, ilvl 55 is a bit more debatable

4- Yep

5- Kind of, more because of the cost of the reset item, otherwise they kinda make sense. You'll need A LOT of battles to reach rank 30 so you'll have plenty of marks i think.

PS: I'm having fun anyway, did plenty of matches already and inbalances are to be expected anyway, just hope it gets fixed before 2.2 <.<.

i90 PvE gear > i55 PvP gear in offense and defense due to higher health pools with flat out better damage
i70 PvP gear > i90 PvE gear in most slots

Instant cast raises are the biggest issue with pvp atm by far.

Depending on comps, it's not uncommon to see multiple instant rezzes within one match for one team. Had a match yesterday where 7 raises were done before the match ended.

Swiftcast is fine on it's own, and counter able even in some cases, but instant rezzing should never exist in a pvp environment in any circumstance, especially from a non healer class.

I think the duration of a lot of things is too long.
Any new user attempting to get started at PvP is gonna get discouraged quickly at how annoying some mechanics are
-Sleep chain 30, then 25, then 15, then 10 then 5 is pretty long enough.
-Attacks not registering with moving targets is a problem too.
-Insta cast raise needs to go. Summoner should not really use raise.
-I really don't see the need for 2 whole minutes for the match to start. it's too long, it's not a kind of pvp that needs way too much stratergy planning beforehand

Most other PvP games have CC attacks duration reduced, and it's for a reason.

I really want this game to offer me great PvP experience just as it currently gives me a fantastic PvE experience, so I'm looking forward for new improvements.

I am coming from Aion huge pvp game, 5 years for me on many of my 65's and a few with +10 to 15 eternal pvp gear on tiamat server, I love them adding pvp to this game but it does need a lot of work such as,

requests on pvp content.
flag battles
free for all
bases or forts would be nice

I mean this is an opening for pvp in our game so lets hope they build more for us.
Better targeting and range so it doesn't feel so limited or rubber banded.

Morale should give a healing done boost

Instant cast raise should be removed in pvp.

Yeah +1 for SMN and instant cast raise adjustments.

The difference between having as little as 4 - 6 pieces is evident. You are tankier and your damage output against players (especially those with 0 Morale) is undeniably higher. I would suggest mixing i90 gear with i70 PvP gear until you can get a full i90 PvP set.

The damage is wayyyy to much, Morale is definitely useful, crafted pvp plus relic for all classes but healers.
I70 for healers and that's it

PvP in every MMO I have played has always been an endless series of changes and tweaks that always lead to some advantage/disadvantage of classes. It is just the nature of the beast. Most imbalance you will see in PvP will always be when it first launches, increase levels, or add a new class to the mix.

I haven't PvP'ed in the game much yet, so can't give a good description of what is good and what is bad. For what I did do, I went in as my DRG and I would say one thing that bothered me a lot was really bad animation lock when trying to run towards an opponent while trying to use my ability. I think something like that does need to be adjusted. I am sure there is something in each class that has some hindrance to deal with that a tweak from the Dev's could fix.

Just give it time to settle. This is common in MMO's.

I feel like everythings balanced, My groups destroyed double blm, double smn etc etc
Only match we ever lost without obvious fuckups was a match that ended our 51 win streak
15min epic match with a drg and mnk, The second time they LB'd did us in. Got the healer lol
Things can be tweaked but honestly guys its pvp abilitys then playerskill. After that communication and teamwork
Nothing is OP all of it has a counter. Just play and figure it out

That being said, PVP ranking please and a ready up button for PVP. Dat 2min timer sucks

Sleep really isn't much of an issue in duty finder matches right now because the matches are over so quickly. Purify, Fetter Ward, etc. let you push through the first wave of sleep DR and by the time sleep resets back to 30 seconds the game is over (or snowballing too fast to matter).

In the higher ranked pre-made games where people have some gear and coordination, the games last longer, and at that point sleep can be a problem. With proper materia it might be balanced, but no one knows yet. Ultimately, a fully geared player that melded to counter cc (i.e. healer) should suffer max duration of 12-15 seconds from sleep. If it's still more than 20 seconds with full gear, I think it will require adjusting.

Overall, it's not as bad as people think, and it's too early to ask for nerfs.

i55 pvp gear hqd is better than darklight and i70 craft armor but, i90 pve armor beats out the i55 pvp gear, i70 pvp gear beats out i90 pve gear. Lots more bulky and a bit more damage. Also sleep cc is indeed op in ranks 1 to 3 before purify your healer has to be super careful or its instant death. The pvp skill reset should be way cheaper unless at rank 30 you get like 100 marks a win I could see them increasing marks per win.

Nowhere near enough ap to every skill and enhance it. 1 ap per pvp rank feels very slow progression wise, I see a skill I need or want, without x skilll I have to work harder but to get x skill in the higher ranks (+10) it takes many many matches to get to that point this coupled with the reset price is odd.

Because they are the one using these tactics. PVP should be balanced from starting rank to top tier rank. If not fixed, we will mostly see two BLM or two SMN. :(

How am I suppose to get that skill early when everyone is required to get Purify, Fetter Ward to Max. Reset is not an option early, earning skills takes too many levels.

you forget about the part where ranged classes can just kite you with sprint and dps all they want or use their abilities with no penalty whatsoever, while melee is trying to catch them up either on normal run speed, or without tp, in both cases is a lost cause... either melee should keep their tp when sprinting or magic classes lose their MP when they use it, equal footing for everyone.

@ the OP, most of the stuff you wrote about isn't "balance" issues, just feature suggestions.

Sleep is not OP, Crowd control is a core component of PvP and its something you learn how to deal with and mitigate. BLM isn't OP, SMN isn't OP, get up, dust yourself off and learn how to counter different strategies. This is supposed to be the main appeal of PvP. no two fights are the same, and success or faliure rides on your ability to adapt to different tactics.

You forget that casters need this pretty much to function at all. There is 100% spell interruption on damage, the only way to do anything if you're under attack is to sprint until you gain enough distance to lay down a spell. The limited selection of instant cast abilities will only get you so far.

I believe we got that because our teamwork and experience together, not because BLM is OP, if it was we would never lose. I'm just stating that the fact a DRG and MNK were able to spank us after all the experience we've had together. It makes me truly believe its more player skill then anything else

Otherwise it would always be a faceroll.
15-20min pvp match with DRG MNK is ridiculous

Learn how to use invigorate, regain feathers, and icarus wings. Also do you honestly expect mages to have ZERO ways to gain distance? They can't cast with people on them outside of a 5 minute cooldown and 30 second cooldown that lasts for 1 spell, should they just go afk when a match begins then?
