We'll see when 7.x comes out whether it's actually because of FF16 :)

Seeing as you have no idea how or what resources were used for the game, I cant see how you can make any kind of decision. This whole "FF 14 is having problems based on they sent all their people to work on 16" has zero proof.Quote:

You dont know.
Admit it and move on.
This claim that FF 14 suffered because of 16 is absolute rubbish. No one, including me, knows what resources went where.Quote:

Didn’t think you were so down on the game vel. Even gaius is living in hope but you’re certain this dreck is all we’re ever going to get.
The quality of the patches post 6.0 have been extremely lackluster.
The relic being nothing more than a simple tier 2 tome grind.
It's pretty obvious something has the usual quality lacking. The easy answer is that the devs were focusing on FF16, not FF14.
When you hear hoofbeats: Think horses, not zebras. The simplest answer is the most likely.
FF16 is developed by the Heavensward team. After Heavensward released they all went off to start making it. This is why there was such a long wait to 3.1 at the time. The budget of 14 has increased.
The OP of this thread is complaining there is no content, when he simply just doesn't like it. The 6.x series have had some of the biggest patches we've ever had.
I'll admit, after playing the XVI demo, I'm most definitely NOT seeing all the 'missing' resources going into that game that's for sure. Decent at best textures struggling to reach 60 fps in a small area on the PS5? No. The combat system is fun though I guess, if on the very easy side. I tested it and I could simply press two buttons in the eikon battle to win. The whole thing is a cutscene disguised as a battle, was pretty disappointed when I pulled that curtain back.
EDIT because of post limit
The game went gold though. You know, ready to ship, we're done? having such obvious drops in a small town in performance mode is laughable. Combat WAS smooth though, to be fair to the game, and I HOPE it's going to be good.
Yep, so true. Criterion, island sanctuary, and the savage raids are the best ever. And the more people love the 6.x patches, the less we’ll have of them! Less is more, right? Right? You like playing other games too, right? Log in to FFXIV once a week to do your re-clears and go back to Diablo IV? Looking forward to FF16? Why not just piss on the grave while you’re at it?
It actually was an odd case quality 30fps mode seemed to be locked in for the most part except some rare instances. Performance mode in combat was flawless from what I’ve seen it’s everything out of performance mode like exploration which was getting drops. However the demo was build 1.01 and the state of play in April had the menu show build 1.03
It makes sense the demo build to be of an earlier build so until the game is out it’s hard to really comment on performance. Also doesn’t help that performance mode isn’t 60fps it’s just a higher frame rate so they aren’t misleading here. Also their engine is very different to that of unreal but for the most part it’s a massive step up visually in quality mode. Il be curious how it translates to 7.0 and its visual upgrade; having a slither of these features would be really nice.
That particular fight was as described as how it was an on rails fight we’ve clearly seen other Eikon gameplay that is vastly more interactive. I also stand that the prologue was cutscene heavy to set up the world and its characters and for that it did a good job. It’s a 40-50 hour game where it roughly has 10 hours of cutscenes. This isn’t uncommon in jrpgs at all, but we are I’ll have to wait for release to form proper opinions. Combat wise coming from DMC etc it’s really smooth, the main issue is parry being the attack button as well.
I made an error there, I meant 500,000 worth of gil. I know because I shamelessly bought the skips even if I didnt need them just so I can fund for the hard to get/make mats for making the previous crafted tier gear sets.
I didnt do that this time around but the fact that its possible, its totally pay to win.
Extra retainers are imo more serious issue than some cash shop doggies. Game offers you very limited bank space, and then sells you solution to this problem with extra retainers and companion sub. Those mounts are at least permanent, 2$ x 7 retainers + 5$ for companion sub is much worse, if you use all of that, that's 19$ extra per month.
Variety is the spice of life. There is no variety of content for casual players. High end raiders have more because they have criterion dungeon savage extremes and ultimates. alongside floors31-100 of the new potd which has savage level bosses in it.
While casual players have just the bare minimum content. There content is supposed to be 1500 tome grind for a relic stage and thats uhh really it.
Im of the opinion we need 2-3 more dungeons an expansion to make it so expert roulette isn't just the same 2 dungeons only. Because variety is the spice of life. Expert roulette doesen't even feel like a roulette in the state its in it's just a coin flip thats weighted to be the newest dungeon more than not
I feel like Yoshi-P could had avoid so many future problems if he had thought out meaningful long term content (like with Bozja for example, just need some basic idea here though Bozja was not without its issues).
You can't skid by with weekly lockout content for everyone since that content story-wise, gameplay-wise only lasts for about two days at the max, and the hamster wheel begins (which some of us thinks as pretty annoying), and not everyone cares for savage.
Criterion Dungeon has potential to be long-term, its actually on the right track, but it doesn't have a lot of oomph behind it (I think having the mid-boss always being the same guy was a bad idea on their part as one example). I actually wished Criterion Dungeon's strategy of multiple paths could have been a thing for the main story dungeons since 2.0 as that would had extended the game's playtime by a lot for both casuals and midcore players.
The only thing that prevented this idea was the "path of least resistance players that deterred this", I wish Yoshi P didn't listen to these players because clearly Multiple path dungeons can actually be done if done right.
The Developers are sitting on good ideas, but not realizing the potential until its too late.

I accept this is not a really a true MMORPG, this is something that is trying to be something else or can't decide what it wants to be.
Yoshi P is the Joe Biden of FF.
He has plants whom think he is the best thing to ever happen.....& will fill up social media with songs of his accolades
...Then, when you get into the grass root people (Those whom his actions or lack thereof affects), there are a ton of threads like this.......lol.

Yoshi-P reveals that the team wanted to make a PC version of Final Fantasy XVI but couldn't create an experience with seamless loading in time for launch. Perhaps with enough time, we will see the game running well on PC.

Technology just isn't there guys. Good guy Yoshi surely wanted to release PC port at real release, even though exclusivity deal was signed.
Seems like exclusivity was signed quite a long time ago, 1-2 years minimum (remember when reveal trailer had "Also available on PC"?), so I guess Yoshi has such a good insight, that he predicted that this single issue couldn't be solved in a span of multiple years, so he just signed exclusivity deal, since it wouldn't launch on PC anyway. /s
Thoughts? Just another Yoshi-P's PR fluke, hoping that his worshippers will eat the bait?
Was there a rumour of Playstation gobbling up SE? For FFXVI they have been laying out a lot of praise for the PS5.
That website has messed with a few conversations, I think I had a couple where people were like 15% of the population clears ultimate and 85% does savage. xD.
Pretty much, Yoshi-P is pretty good at putting on a sad face for the camera and people are pretty eager to eat it up, happened multiple times with 14 where something bad happens, Yoshi gets on camera and cries, and suddenly the Forums calms down and everyone's all "Oh don't cry Yoshi!". Like I respect the commitment he used to have for 14, but that act got old real quick.
I swear he got more attention from people that hate him than people that love him. And both of them are equally weird. Not even counting the "ever since he started working on FFXVI, things have changed....... I hate that game........."
Y'all should take a break, really.
Not really, the problem is people tend to go to extremes. Why cant you praise him and at the same time see the flaws for what they are? The denial in the community is astonishing. Or are you implying debatting is worthless in a forum, well then I dont know what to say. "Y'all should take a break, really", dont need to project tho.
This is just internet being internet, you're either on side of the extreme or the other. In the end, Yoshi is great guy, but has flaws just like everyone. Problem is that some people have the need to white knight him to make him seem perfect, same goes for FFXIV - I saw some people say that "yeah, even performance mode has some stutters, but back in ma' day, we were grateful for 20-30fps". People just really like to take sides and amp it to the extreme.
I would also add, a lot of people rush through new content and don't take their time with it to fully enjoy it, same way when people are hungry they scarf down food instead of taking the time to smell, taste and savor every bite slowly. That's how I play this game when experiencing new content, I take my time with it and feel satisfied, if I rushed through it I probably would feel agitated...
He is a great agent for PR.
I am never going to single out an individual that works for a company because at the end of the day, they're just some rando working for a paycheque but for that same reason I would advice against showering them with platitudes like how much of a great person they are because - again - at the end of the day, they're just some rando working for a paycheque.
However: the rest of the devs as well as Square as a whole are all relatively "faceless", thus making it difficult for people to have any direction of their complaints/issues and so yoship will always end up taking the brunt of that. Not much can be done unless they trot out a few other targets for people to shower in love and/or rotten tomatoes.
I feel like QA was lacking this expansion.
I don't think we had as many bugs/unbalancing in HW, SB, ShB that we had in EW.
TOP had 2 auto attack related bugs, Anabeisos had the Caloric bug, Abyssos was a snoozefest and unbalanced mess.
And we had a 2 week delay between patches.
The Job design was lacking, the rewards are lacking, the content is lacking the shop is getting mounts and glam...
I enjoy this game but I'll agree that we get more and more content cut.
So far I've only been enjoying the raids, It's the first time I'm only logging to raid.
They didn't always just release 1 dungeon and 1 trial every new content.
Before they released way more than that, you can enjoy the content at a leisurely pace but the content has gotten smaller every expansion, you want players that are hungry for content to go at a frugal pace when the supplier is supplying less and less content?
EW IMO is the worst expansion outside of 6.0 and even 6.0 MSQ pacing was somewhat questionable. Post launch content outside of ultimates was extremely lackluster. Job balance was done poorly and you can literally see the lack of effort with the relic quest.
Criterion dungeons done poorly.
Island sanctuary done poorly.
Relic done poorly.
So many bugs in every patch resulting in every patch done poorly.
Its almost like FFXVI is the escape until FFXIV can get its act together.
The question we are asking is: will they make an effort and add more pve content in 7.0 patchs, a return to the amount of pve content of the stormblood expansion had would be an ideal patch cycle,
just given how poor endwalker pve is I have big doubts that the cycles will change for 7.0, despite the fact that they have finally finished FF16 and will be able to recover some of the staff.
but currently I really hope that the content of 7.0 will be richer, otherwise the motivation to play it will not be there,
Endwalker was the extension of boredom so if the next one is of the same ilk there is no reason to play it.
So... I actually joined a custom pvp team and related discord Where you sign up to fight other team. Yes, we all are on voice. The pressure l felt from that even surpassed diamond/crystal games l have been in. You can be steam rolled So hard from coordinated attacks. They are probably afraid of hardcore pvp sweats forms party to roll over casual who plays alone. I guess some queue system can be used to ensure premade matches against premade. Yes... The current system where solo queue only is a lazy solution to that problem
