Yeah, I don't really count characters like Valens and Asahi/Fandaniel for a topic like this simply because they are made to be, well, hateable. There's no "I'm supposed to like this character but.." or "I wanted to like this character but the writing.." with them. Frankly, if you don't hate Valens, Asahi, etc. then I think there's probably something wrong with you and you may need to seek help.
Hildebrand Manderville. I have a general distaste for characters that fail at comic relief because they are pushed too far into the over-the-top-goofy category. In his quest chains I found myself skipping most of the dialogue because he just irritates the hell out of me.
Meteion.
Urgh.
Thank god someone else thinks this too. I mean it has some funny parts, but overall the humor scattered throughout the game is more entertaining than "look at me I'm the trope of the worlds luckiest moron".
Hildi is made worse by the weird cult that harasses EVERYONE to do those quest lines...very noticeable in any streamers chat.
The only thing I want each expansion, is Tataru's death.
One day...
Zenos. Entirely because of his rabid, and I do mean bloody rabid fangirls.
1) Your taste in husbando is absolute dogshit, and some of you should probably seek psychiatric help. Maybe you're playing up a bit, I don't know, but abusive relationships aren't good for anyone.
2) He might be a "reflection and foil" of "The Player" and "You the character," but don't put that shit on me.
3) Half-assed and poorly-plotted-out rival plotline that they forced hard for the rest of Endwalker.
I like Emet-Selch, but man is it TIRING hearing his fans go "No, see, it's okay that he wanted to commit mass genocide because they weren't really people in his eyes", while at the same time condemning Hydaelyn's actions as mass genocide or ignoring Emet-Selch's straight up evil actions like having Vauthry be born a monster guaranteed to become a tyrannical dictator or literally everything going on with Allag.
Best opinion in this thread. Zeno's can not be fixed he's a broken insane mess. Plus I absolutely can't stand people or characters who go around claiming to be bored all the time only to continue to do the activity that bored them. Just reminds me of attention seekers or bandwagoneers.
I feel like Zenos is supposed to be a subtle critique of both Garlemald and Emet-Selch, as he embodies traits that both find deplorable despite being a product of the both of them. He probably could find fulfillment elsewhere if he actually devoted himself to something other than military conquest and warmongering, but he's been raised as the son of Garlemald's emperor. Combat is something he can't avoid, especially given that he's the only heir to Varis and likely the only one who could reasonably inherit the throne and thereby the Garlean ideology of conquest.
That being said, I find him not particularly interesting, barring a few flashes here and there (like his speech to Jullus), because the Warrior of Light is not constrained within the same limits. Sure, we fight and kill things, but we also can be crafters that build things for people, participate in holiday events whether they have dire consequences or not, play Triple Triad, go fishing, hunt for treasure, garden, race chocobos, etc. The Warrior of Light has room for many aspects of character beyond just being a person who thirsts only for the thrill of combat, even if combat is the main content of the game, so I can't really buy the idea that Zenos is supposed to be a mirror of me as a player.
Emet-Selch is worse than Hydaelin.
Allag bringing suffering and destruction upon the dragons of Meracydia were directly his fault. They had NOTHING to do with the sundering or "our" star's problems. They fled from a star that got senselessly destroyed by heartless war machines only for his droopy-eyed arse to make this happen to them again when they were trying to mind their own business surviving.
I just finished 4.0 on my alt last night and the at lead in to Omega cutscene I was reminded I hate Jessie from the Ironworks.
I guess it's supposed to be cute or funny her bossing around and talking trash to Cid.
But to me it just comes off as several politically incorrect descriptors I won't post here.
Marcette. She's not even fun to dislike, and not really a fan of all the arrogant researcher caricatures this game has.
Minfilia was the worst for me. I recently rerolled on a new server/world so that I could play with my daughter (I'm too cheap to transfer) and replaying all I can think is,"Can't wait for her to sacrifice herself and get out of my game again!"
Speaking of Minfilia, you know how in the dungeon
The Atiascope where Hauchefant gives us a buff for standing in his circle? So when we see Minfilia walking around, the party waited near her for a little while expecting to get something. I was like “Damn, even in the afterlife she’s useless Couldn’t even give me a buff!"
LOL
Minfilia isthe one building the path for you during the last bit of that dungeon though. They start out glowing gold and everything..
I'm not sure if my wording was confusing or not, but I was agreeing with you.
The point I was making was that it is ridiculous that Emet-Selch gets a pass from his fans for literally being the mastermind behind several murderous campaigns (to the point he calls his future self a megalomaniac in Endwalker!), but Venat gets criticized for trying to talk her people out of a slow process of circular suicide.
most of the scions.... like I really hope we get a long ass break from them for awhile.... not holding my breath.....
Minfilia wasCreating the road for you to walk. The light that connects paths together? That was her. She always say "may you walk in the light of the crystal" like Venat, but she actually literally does it here by letting you continue when there was no path left forward. It's also a symbolism to creating a path that led the First to survive, symbolism that the connection to Hyadelyn was too faint but Minfilia sacrificed herself to keep the connection alive. To lead those who may walk after (dead creating a path so the ones alive can still continue).
Tarutaru. Wish SE would kill her off already.

Marcette was definitely one of the ones I would've chosen. You know you're bad when you get three votes as a random sidequest giver.
Also, bump.
Also, first post.
Lyse is a revolutionary larper I can see why people want her gone, Surprised ysholda isn't second on the list.
Fandaniel I found extremely annoying. I actually like or dont mind most of the people listed here.
