So many people like to tout how sinister the ff community truly is but I have yet to see them give an example of a better community. My time trying wow was not fun, my recent attempts at having some sort of discussion with the souls community and its rampant cheating got me lambasted by trolls and sexists, I get racist, sexist and homophobic abuse in league of legends, CoD same thing, halo same thing, even when I was younger and played Digimon Masters Online there were trolls everywhere. The worst I have had in this game are some overly needy people that insist on following me about and a couple snippy people in some instances. That's it. In over three years. One game of league gets me more abuse than that.
What game community that features the same amount of player interaction is better than ffxiv? A game wherein you will be matched with players not in your own friend circle, what will that random player be like on average? In league they are toxic as all hell, CoD I got constant sexism, Souls players vowed to me they would spend hours attempting to invade my session and get me banned. What do I get in ffxiv if I go do something? A random player that maybe says hello and a gg at the end. Sometimes lovely convo's happen, community interaction in a wider sense is positive. The main source of negativity you could find would be in this forum and forums tend to be where people go to voice their grievances and look for a debate/argument.
