I was so green WAR that day so even 47lvl The Aurum Vale don't get me synced! And so we started to lay our way into 1st boss room trying to pull only necessary monsters. Everything was right until BRD got himself destructed by drill of da fight and get himself ambushed by monsters on patrol then panicked, jumped back and get himself second stuck! I've pulled 'em on me in rush to protect but we were totally screwed in a moment when our healer manapool was depleted. At this point we were determinate to take as many enemies to the grave as we can. And then when my hp bar just gonna meet zero point end, one of the mobs died providing me with enough EXP to lvlup! restoring my warrior vitality to max!!! We were saved by Hydaelyn holly hand! -

Added my first person to my Alts Blacklist today.
First they DC I'm fine with that whatever they happen.
Then during Angra they refuse to heal me when I was the last tank standing with aggro then they try to scream that I voked off the MT (Never did) When someone from the party piped up that that wasn't the case.They promptly stopped complaining but spent the rest of the run pulling the bosses and generally being a nuisance including not switching to Noct when we had a whm.
End of the run I commend the other healer and promptly leave then blacklist them.
Never had to do that before. -

Aurum Vale I was leveling black mage. The first room the tank *immediately* charges to the middle and promptly died around 6 seconds later. As the team progressed further, however, I noticed that this team is basically a compilation of EVERYTHING, and I do mean EVERYTHING in the "don't do this while playing" dictionary combined in one great package: A tank that, among other things: charge and do big pulls but don't bother to put mitigations, stand in AOE eating damage, including multiple Bad Breaths, etc; a White Mage that is basically just a cure spam all the time (and I don't see a SINGLE Regen, yep you read that right, not a SINGLE Regen throughout the entire dungeon, and oh the WHM is not doing a single Holy too the entire run), and oh yeah, the other DPS didn't do AOE too, lol. This was actually my first time seeing the seeds on the final boss actually bloomed and sprouted adds, because nobody is doing anything to them, lol. It's incredible that we managed to beat the dungeon in the first place XD
The Amaurot I was playing as a Dark Knight. Well... the healer died multiple times on the 1st boss causing us to wipe several times before succeeding, everyone with a meteor marker put the stone *right at the corner* so we have no space to shield us from the meteor, causing us to wipe, etc etc. And on the 2nd boss, this was actually my first time ever seeing it successfully burst, wiping us out, lol, so yeah the Dragoon + Dancer DPS in here is not doing a very good damage, hahaha. Oh on the final boss the dragoon struts along to the small ledge to avoid the 1st Apocalypse only to fall down ( I lolled, they just literally walked off the edge XD), and before the WHM could revive them they actually went back to the dungeon start, locking them out, so it's only me, the dancer, and healer, and of course we wiped out because we couldn't clear the Boss' enrage mechanic, hahaha. Went well the 2nd time, although I had to remind the DPS to actually use the Limit Break because they're ignoring it for some reason, lol. We cleared the dungeon at 30 minutes mark, the longest I've ever done Amaurot. I didn't mind though, because they clearly were trying their best and so I stayed to do whatever I could to help, even though I couldn't give precise instructions due to them all being Japanese players.
All and all, a pretty interesting experience. -

It's mostly in leveling dungeons that this happens. It is absolutely possible to go through Recitation and 6 Aetherflow on the first pull of a dungeon (before Aetherpact is available), and for the tank to still be dying.
It shouldn't be a thing, but they exist.
There were a lot of GNBs at launch who would Camouflage into Superbolide, and also get slammed by the line AoEs in that one pull in Holminster before the second boss.
Combine this with bad DPS that make pulls take forever, and it becomes pure suffering, where you have to MacGyver the party out of some seriously messed up situations.
It's much less of a thing now, and in a lot of cases, Adlo -> Adlo still works because the shield breaks quickly.
I don't think, just by the way you're talking, that you're bad at all.
There isn't a lot of room for error on SCH from 61-74, and not all SCHs are confident enough to use Dissipation (for 3 more Aetherflow).
If the SCH didn't use Dissipation, or they used Aetherflow on Lustrate when Excog was available, that'd be the problem. It'd be a big problem. It's also a very common mistake. -

Not my story, but one from a couple of FC mates: Dungeon was Stone Vigil FC mates go in as Healer and DPS. The tank is a very.. Special case. I'd heard of tanks getting upset when a healer is overhealing but a tank that not only goes out of their way to turn off regen and then chooses to deny a res with the statement:
"#nothealing"
"that's why I kept removing the regen and why i respawned, because you was doing more dpsing than healing...like every other r--arded healer that thinks they need to help DPS instead of focusing on their jobs"
I.. I'm speechless. One of those "healers should only heal" crazies.
I mean, I can understand wanting a healer to heal more if dpsing is causing actual issues. But electing to make the healer's life more difficult by actively turning off every regen attempt is just being a jerk. -

So I found out the fun way that Walking Dead level up bug is still a thing.
Qitana Ravel, me on SCH. Rest of party is DRK SAM DNC. The usual mass pulls and slaughter happen, first boss goes down without a hitch. Tank is rotating cooldowns though since they're 76, and I'm a slight bit rusty with SCH, I've been juggling dpsing and healing fairly well for being 76 myself.
Queue getting to the second mass pull before the boss, DRK pops Living dead and being the opportunistic healer I am, I let it pop and grant WD status. I start spam healing, and suddenly he hit 100%...then keeled over dead.
He had leveled up during that pull, had WD active, and the game said 'F*ck it, you die.' Thanks game. The tank and I were wondering what the actual heck happened until I asked a friend on discord, who then explained it to me that it's still 'that thing that will kick you in the balls.'
I felt so bad. I shouldn't have let Walking Dead activate. The pull was cleared, but still. -

Also, related to clicking things off, and while not duty finder it still relates to random people in an instance: Friend and I were doing EurekaPoggersPagos. Turns out that if there are bunnies active, the FATE won't start up again.
Instead of telling us this or asking us about it, one player got mad and just brought a whole bunch of enemies to us and yelled at us to "kill our bunnies". We, of course, had absolutely no idea what they were on about and just ran away. The bunnies stayed on until they expired.
In the future, it happened again, and a much kinder player politely informed the instance that you could click them off. We thanked this person and did so. -

Whatever. Pop shield, drop mobs, move on. The healer had no trouble keeping me up, so is the tank ready to concede and do the normal last pull? We kill the boss and... no. Still single pulling. Regen is not such a big deal that you should feel the need to apologize over, or stress over too much. It isn't that bad, and aggro can be picked up. I'm not gonna go out of my way to berate a healer over it. I don't think I've even mentioned regen to healers in-game. I'll click it off, and keep on pulling. Most of the time I probably don't even bother clicking it off, or rather don't notice, so used to it. Certain pulls it can be really annoying though, like when the healer pulls off of you and runs in the opposite direction or something. It's more of a habit I got myself into more than anything else because of the times I've had an annoying experience, to click it off.

Yes, that tank used those exact words, minus the obvious censoring I did when providing the quote. FC members also sent a report, so GMs can have fun with 'em.
Said tank was also lying earlier in the run saying they didn't click off regen but then admitted to removing it the whole run at the end of it.
Anyway! While it's not DF, PF still sort of counts. Today was BLU leveling day so I went to Lochs, found a leveling party and we all did our best reenactment of Ivalice Unlock/Red Comet ;D T'was loads of fun. -

I regretted my decision earlier today to do my very first E1. I decided to queue as PLD, and got in right away, and somehow got the same instance as a FC mate that was queuing for it too. I ran it blind, because FC mates said 'you should do it blind because we did too! You'll have fun!'
My stanceless GNB co-tank kept aiming the cleaves and tankbuster beams at the party, and my FC mate nearly ate it on his SMN. The add he grabbed he kept aimed at the party. The cleaves looked like they hurt too.
That wasn't fun at all D:
Edit: just got done with E4. I died so much as tank because I had no idea of his mechanics, and same said people demanded I do it blind. I'm not gonna bother listening to their demands anymore. I felt like a f*cking embarrassment to the rest of the party. -

I agree with your FC that going in blind is fine for normal mode. I wouldnt say its required, but its fine. From the sounds of it you cleared just fine, so the deaths were probly more of a personal frustration that an impediment for your group to succeed. Of course, if you didnt enjoy yourself youre free to try it a different way next time. And E4 does that to everyone on their first time. A couple of his knockbacks arent really telegraphed in a way that makes it clear what to do. Obviously i dont stand in front of mario kart, but its not obvious that i need to be on the wide side. Its even less obvious that i want to be in front of megaman for the first shot, though the follow up shots are straight-forward enough.
If it makes you feel more confident, E5 only has like 4 or 5 moves and most of them are visually obvious. The non-spoiler key to the fight is remembering the first time you fought them. -

With the way the enemies move and latency on top of that, they can run past you and slap the healer before the game registered that you have "top hate". When i tank and a white mage gives me a regen before i've hit any enemies, i tend to click it off. If they give me a regen after i've established hate, then it's fine. It just makes picking up the enemies a lot smoother / less cumbersome.Quote:

Can someone explain why 90% of the healers I see in 24-man raids just refuse to heal and let their co-healer do all the job?
It's especially bad if there are 2 of these and they will have a silent competition of "whoever heals first becomes the solo healer".
Ran into one of those in World of Darkness just now. All he did was Stone II and little regens that were 95% of the time for himself.
I can totally understand DPSing when there is nothing to heal but people were literally dying or were already dead and he did absolutely nothing but Stone II.
And sure, WoD isn't that hard but it's not a faceroll like CT or ST, people mess up all the time and just today I've seen about 7 wipes on different bosses.
Honestly, if you're not gonna heal - switch to a DPS.
And then people call you toxic for wanting to kick useless healers. It's so disrespectful to just silently let your co-healer do all the work.
Sigh. Was very tempted to run Cloud's lazer through him. -

Otherwise you end up with a situation where someone is overhealing where they could be contributing to dps. This is especially true in the CT raids, where I think WHM is the only healer without any instant heals outside of Benediction - if their co-healer is already managing to heal people faster than them, their time is better spent just dpsing until more healing is necessary than slapping a regen bandaid on someone.Quote:
