Yo-Kai Event: BLU Major Griefing Problem

Since this thread was originally posted I leveled my BLU to 80 and learned 111 spells out of 124, and used it to farm all the minions + 6 weapons so far. Just saying, there is a solution to your problem (and also, its more fun than whining on the forum, but maybe that's just me)

All this said,I do hope people are able to get their items. Never said I didnt. I just dont support harrassment over a way someone farms. Hopefully people chill and everyone can coexist.

When people ask for BLU to be able to participate in forays such as Eureka and Bozja, just point them at this thread instead.

I use to leave a fate before it's over to run to the next one, people will quickly end the fate, i start the next one solo, get enough contrib, and repeat
Seems selfish but it ain't at all, since I take just enough contrib for me and let everything else to the others instead of tryharding and getting as much as I can

Remove blue from fate content or seriously synch their skills down as well as damage as it would be for anyone else.

I don't think it is thought through to permit them them to do fates pretty much 'unsynched'

Leave the odd blue stuff to them duties that is closed off anyway, or simply remove the feature to get any event items using blumage stating that it has to be done as intended.

Blu should not be able to do that, those areas is also relic farm grind, and it would not be appropiate to let them in there either.

You say this, it's as if "FATE/Skirmish/Big money NM burning ridiculously fast" wasn't already happening in some occasions. The complaints in there becomes "Boohoo they don't want to wait for me longer than 3 minutes past NM spawning ; I was raising a straggler ; I just zoned in ; I was doing bunny"

At the end of the day, people would choose to either adapt or complain when X objective are FFA w/ them ends up not getting their cake(s) after they bang their head using their preferred method.

well thats all blu is good for. after the raids, skills, and carnival. Blu just collects dust until what ever fate grind is next. Like right now yokai and any fate that will need bio gems

It will die down like it always has and it will be back to normal. dont blame the job, blame how it was implemented

I dunno which DC you play on but we had a guy pre pull on chaos and almost the full instance started to shittalk them to a point it was almost witch hunting... I think their names were plastered on the BA discords so they will not be able to join unless they make their own party... a lil bit too much if you ask me, but they were not really helping their case when they said "i pulled cause i dont have time to wait right now"

It may happen that we have ALSO griefers there, but it doesnt change it from griefing to non griefing.

Regardless, I find the original OPs comment a bit over the top. "you shouldnt have to DC travel"... my man, If I want to clear ultimates on my EU account, or any savage raid, I need to DC travel. Since DC travel exists, Chaos is unable to fill PF. Its not that bad... it is a bit annoying that you cannot reach your retainers and cant talk to FC for a bit, but its still better than trying to do something for hours that fails to happen.
Just hop to a low pop/ new server. Majority of the players havent even unlocked blue mage in some of them...

I suppose my point is, whether or not they're griefing, the fact remains that their current preferred method wouldn't do them any favor, so why suffer through that stubbornly instead of trying to find a workaround in the meantime (as many have tried to offer)?

That being said, I do hope they tone down the boss FATEs one shots. (I don't know how -fast- this happened but like I've said previously, unlike the mob/item fate cousins, it doesn't offer the rest of participant more opportunities to snag credits and I think that one specific case is a little bit unfair.)

The problem is some people are having issues on already low pop servers because BLUs are travelling to their servers to specifically one shot. People think Hallicarnassus is empty and they have free reign for instance, but it's really obnoxious for the people who's home server it is.
There is really no place I can go that's more low population than I am already on in NA.

This whole event and some of the responses in the thread have really shown me the attitudes and caliber of a lot of the people in the community. World events turn into PvP, players taking resources for themselves selfishly so they can finish a few percent faster, when people have issues it becomes the person left behind who is balmed.
Where's the sense of cooperation? The sense of community instead of every man for themselves? Given how this goes I really hope we don't get any more large scale player content because the community cannot be trusted to not just be super selfish and shut other players out, then meme about it on the forums.

i have literally had cases where i started a fate and a Blu, seeing i was doing the fate, instant killed everything the second they dropped down knowing full well what they were doing.

I have begun to instantly report Blu that do this, it may go no where but enough people report other players doing this may provoke the GMs to handle this situation somehow. because i share the same sentiments as the OP.

I know people are free to choose what works, but it is one thing to use abilities to help, but another to use specific ones known to instantly kill anything in the fate on purpose to prevent anyone else from getting credit for the fate.

You are reporting people for doing a fate? People really are sad human beings. It wont go anywhere no because they aren’t breaking any rules by using a job for a fate. All you are doing is wasting GM’s time and delaying help for actual real problems that are going on. How about we dont do that?

Yeah, if I see someone land in the fate when I've already done half of it? They can do their own half, I'm not staying. People on this forum called me a leech a few years back for doing that and not finishing the fates, lmao. Complainers need to pick a lane. :D

I think it's griefing when people just get Nightbloom and never touch the job again, but oh well.

All I can say is I managed to get 1, yes 1 legendary medal the entire time (and quite literally the last one I needed to finish the last weapon set) out of all the times that I got stuck with a blue mage in the same fate with me. Got so ridiculous that I started leaving zones just because I would realize a blue mage was there.

So glad I am done with that event. And to think, the game is about to add another limited job sometime during the next expansion. May the gods have mercy on the hate that will generate when the time comes.

That's anecdotal unless you can give us the number of times that happened versus the total amount of fates you have ran. (And also how many different BLU mages it happened with)

The amount of complaining has to be a result of people just not understanding how to leverage the games mechanics to work around BLUs.

I've watched a few friends do the event, and they've had basically 0 issues. If anything, they have been actively benefiting from the rate at which fates are dispatched by the BLUs. Just get credit, and leave.

Honestly, at this point, it might just be a difference between how much experience / understanding / execution people got with the game.
If they don't understand how some basics work, it just goes over the head.
(which Is fine, long as they learn and figure it out eventually. But if they somehow don't over a long time. and then make it e everyone else's problems, then ot becomes an issue.)

When on my main with BLU all I did rush, and Chimera Lightning(Since I didn't bother to grind for hydro pull, yet) and every other player in the party aoed with normal job skills.

when on my ARR locked Alts, I just used my aoes, either a tank, ranged. as others did the same.

once it was about half way through the fate, I would attempt to disengage(if a boss fate), or fly away once all the emnitied mobs died, and tag the next oldest fate(so when everyone on the party caught up, they can easy tag into the participation. Rinse, repeat, and only progress it enough for participation, so other players can get their points.

Hell, doing that as solo works as well, long as you stick long enough for gold/silver and head out fast enough.

Come to think of it, I'm sure that the following is going to happen: a flood of complaints from people abusing the blocking feature about "cheaters using invisibility hacks".

Yes, but I don't have to put up with anything they say there either, and it's just as well since there's a pretty good chance they weren't going to say anything nice or helpful anyway. (Case in point: This very topic.) Admittedly I've used Blue Mage myself for farming FATEs, but I've been doing it mostly on my nigh-dead home server late at night to avoid *other* Blue Mages (for reasons already stated), *and* to avoid non-Blue Mages because I already know how they're going to react to my very presence (even though I don't have whatever spell it is that shatters frozen enemies) and well, fair next I guess, because that's the kind of sentiment the community helped to foster about this event and I'm not magically exempt from the same treatment if I get blacklisted too just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's not like there's any alternatives to dealing with the situation, and it's obviously not going to get better as it goes on, so this is the best I can do.

There is: play a blue mage yourself, so you can keep up with the speed at which they clear fates.

Now just think how bad it be when Beastmaster comes out and everyone is doing fates and killing every monster to level them up. Think it's bad now wait till 7.0 you will have blue mages and Beastmaster doing them.

It's just toxic players and bad actors. An easy fix would be to make FATE mobs immune to insta kill spells, Missle, etc. Just make them miss. Blue Mage can still do it to nornal mobs and dungeons, etc. That way, it's not emboldening players to go out and nuke FATEs.

Or, at the very least, find a way to scale them better. Nobody would be screaming on Reddit or the forums if Blue Mages were slightly faster, etc. There's a big difference between slighly faster and instant.

My condolences to anyone who is still dealing with this. I got mine done week 2, but I would suggest Dynamis or OCE. OCE realms were pretty good for prime time since they were just waking up.

Like I said, I do play Blue Mage, but it's not worth putting up with *other* Blue Mages or possibly being a hindrance to non-Blue Mages, so I avoid both by staying on Maduin and farming FATEs late at night when I'm fairly sure of being alone. The problem is I still run into the occasional band of "travelers" who nuke things before I arrive, or non-Blues who become immediately repulsed by me being there and mount back up and fly to the next FATE. In both cases, I've gotten some not-so-nice tells and emotes sent my way and the only recourse was to blacklist+move to a different zone (while possibly getting blacklisted myself despite saying nothing, I was simply "wrong place at the wrong time").

This entire event has done wonders to dispel any notion I had of a "super friendly playerbase" and all it took was some limited time goofy looking minions/mounts/weapons, lol.

Blue Mage is a job that exists in the game. It has limited uses, doing FATEs quickly is one of the very few uses it has. FATEs are already mind numbingly boring as it is, why wouldn't people want to make something tedious go faster?

The crazy part is that nobody even cares about FATEs, barely anybody does them outside of relics or a few rewards in ShB and EW, and Blue Mage being able to melt them was considered a bonus before this event. Now all of a sudden, Blue Mage is the Boogeyman.

Other blue mage players didn't pay extra for the job, it's not like we have some privilege or access to something you don't. It's right there, you've unlocked it, you've gotten it to level 70, you've got 50 spells already.

In all the time you're wasting complaining about blue mages, a legitimate job that's in the game, you could go grab Aetheric Mimicry, Basic Instinct and Mighty Guard and go get more spells to make the tedious task you have even faster too.

You're acting like this is some personal affront toward you or other players, when it's nothing of the sort. You don't even enter into the equation. Blue Mage is fun, the spells are fun to use and they make a tedious task go faster. Not using it would only slow things down.

Work smarter, not harder.

Or, sure, fill up your limited blacklist with players who've done nothing to you, don't even care about you at all, see how well that goes for you in a few months.

Honestly, this community is why I missed most of Heavensward. Everyone tows the lie of positivity until you ger verbally harassed or stalked. Luckily, I got my lumps earlier. ARR and HW were super toxic. Honestly, Blue Mages acting like children can't even compare. My best friend, who is a damn saint, has a list he started keeping because everyone would say how friendly and nice everyone was. What his list was when people would tell him to uninstall or for lack of a better verbage restart his life. My friend barely speaks in game chats. He types too slow. Think millennial boomer normie, and that's him. So if he refuses to play this game because it's too toxic, I tend to believe him.

The insta kill combo is only possible once every 2 minutes. Missile has a chance to miss and all it does is soften the mobs up, you're well within your rights to just hit the mobs once they've been softened, nobody is stopping you.

Anyone who's willing to put in any time to farm the weapons can get the event done on any job, regardless of the blue mages. It's 10 medals per weapon and the drop rate isn't that bad. One weapon a day is easily doable in 2-3 hours of gameplay and you'd be done in 17 days.

There's a big difference between sharing and taking. That's all I'm going to say.

It is griefing no matter you look upon it as in no way of being able to competete without having to have some optional none gameplay based side job.
