ok but who asked, this aint a blog

I see that you go around here with the explicit intent of passively aggressively attacking people who you perceive hate the game but are actively trying to improve it. Is your anger okay? Honestly I don't tend to recommend people to unsub but maybe a break from the game would help your mood?
It's okay, its been suggested to me too, so I just wanted to pass the good advice to someone who looks like they can use it as well.
Where is anyone offering actual suggestions to improve the game in this thread?
I found one post from someone who hasn't been taking active part in the discussions in the other threads. Those of you who claim to be wanting to improve the game seem to be stuck on "I'm bored, game is dying".
Mocked why? Because we're playing a game we're still enjoying with friends who are also enjoying the game while a few of you are running around shouting "the sky is falling"?
What's an improvement to you may not be an improvement to other players.
We have the complaints about the relic weapon quest chain. I would agree that it's disappointing this expansion compared to others but not for the reason usually stated. The problem isn't the tomestones. The problem is the comedic Manderville theme. As much as I enjoy the Hildibrand side quests on their own, it makes it impossible to take the relic weapons seriously. You don't feel like you're contributing to a momentous event. You feel like you're contributing to a clown show.
It's still not enough to make me join you in shouting "the sky is falling", though. I accept that developers will sometimes take risks with their content design, and that sometimes those risks will fail.
Complaints about lack of content this expansion compared to Shadowbringers? That's not truthful. We're getting just as much content this expansion. But some of it is different content as SE tries out some things that are new to the game and it's not connecting with everyone for various reasons. Whether or not you feel that content is worth repeating is subjective to you. It doesn't change that the content can be repeated by those who wish to do so.
There's a big difference between "there's nothing to do" and "there's nothing I'm interested in doing".
So okay, you don't have enough to do this expansion. Assuming your lifestyle and real life commitments haven't changed since 5.3 so you have the same number of hours a week to play, what was keeping you occupied then that is lacking this time around?
We have 8 of 12 raid bosses to do for both 8man and Alliance raids.
There are 2 Ultimate raids instead of Shadowbringers single one.
We have 5 of 7 EX trial bosses to do.
We have 6 level 90 dungeons.
We have Unreal and Faux Hollows.
We have FATEs for bicolor gemstone farming and treasure map dungeons.
We don't have an exploratory zone but we do have Variant/Criterion and Eureka Orthos.
We don't have the Ishgard Restoration but we have Island Sanctuary.
We have relics weapons and relic tools to grind.
We have PvP (which is arguably in a better state now than in 5.3 thanks to Crystalline Conflict).
What content types were you doing in 5.3 that you aren't doing in 6.3 that's making the difference? Is it just the lack of Bozja? Is it job design making things less fun to do in general? I think the player base has made it clear they don't like the 2 minute design but that's something SE won't be able to correct until 7.0.
This particular thread has offered nothing constructive. Neither have most of the others. If you guys are sincere about offering suggestions about what you think will improve the game, maybe make those suggestions in a constructive fashion instead of burying them in the "game is dying" doom and gloom.
I am not sure I have ever seen Balmung not reach level 7 on Jumbo Cactpot. This weekend might be the first time for the server.
Don't flaming potato.
I have more then one house and I'm holding my sub since HW.
It's so stupid that there are people who wish others ill like vultures waiting for their moment to tear you apart.
If you don't have a house, it's because of the game system, not because of those who do.
Meditate on the meaning of these words.
Ps: Oh and I'm playing on 2 others games for now, kiss.
Is this a complaint of this generation that you have to force yourself to play a single game forever to feel good? I recommend touching grass and taking a break. Staying hydrated is good too.
This game isn’t going anywhere. Don’t be scared.
"This generation"?

Give it ten years or something?

Lmao yes the ffxiv forums never disappoint! And it took a surprisingly dark turn too. :p 10/10
I know the OP was trying to be snarky... but that's more or less what I do. I don't give up my house - I stay subbed just enough to keep my house when not actively playing. I go play other games. Honestly, even when I'm subbed, I fill my time with other games. I'll go heavy into whatever new content comes out that I want to do. I'm not looking to be entertained 365 days/year by an MMO. And anyone that is expecting that is likely to be let down.
As has been pointed out many times already, a lot of players with concerns about FFXIV are playing other games and aren't looking to be entertained by one specific game 24/7.
They're simply recognising that less and less content is being designed with staying power in mind and that even after taking breaks they're returning to see that elements of the game they enjoy are being taken away for the sake of those who do little but idle in cities and player houses whilst heavily altering the game and their character to be utterly unrecognisable as 'FFXIV.'
I'm the same. That said, if I had literally done everything up to the current content, I'd be thrilled to take a break. I can't imagine having every relic weapon for every class for every expansion, every minion, fish, mount, every ultimate raid, etc (not including the 10k synthesis meme). If that is where people are honestly at, then wow, it sounds like you've gotten a lot out of this game. "play other games" doesn't have to be an insult, it could be a "wow, you've done everything this game offers for now, that's awesome!".
I don't think anyone can look at the FFXIV tag on Twitter and then state in good faith that there's not a whole lot of people who exclusively use the game for modding and erotic roleplay, to the point of not only being brazen enough to actively advertise it in search info and party finder but also coming at the cost of content and glamour aimed at people who want to do more than just attend 'venues'.
Then there's the unfortunate track record of actual role-players being driven away from the game because they don't want to partake in 'nightclubs' or cyber.
Noticing trends and shifting demographics is hardly equal to creating a 'boogeyman.'
No, it exactly looks like you're grabbing the most inconsequential demographic within XIV (that has existed for ages, mind you. Or who else did you think bought all the cute modern shop outfits for years?) that is doing their own thing and fashioning it into a convenient straw-enemy to blame for all your woes in the game. It's kind of weirdly obsessive and control-freaky.
They just do not get it no matter how much more blatantly obvious the situation becomes.
But so be it. Not like they even lose out on having more choice of content to do in game, but whatever. I guess defending the game from those of us who don't want it to be in such a state takes priority over all else.
The only content in the future that I have any remote interest in is as follows:
- Playing through the end of Pandaemonium
That's it. I have nothing else to look forward to until next expansion because I find the idea of a zone where all you do is click things to be abysmally bad content along with the tome relics. The MSQ writing exhausted my patience and I refuse to subject myself to what Myths of the Realm has become. 0 concessions on both the writing and content front for an entire expansion, simply amazing. It all feels soulless whereas all the efforts seem to have been dedicated to FFXVI in its stead.
I gladly cede FFXIV to them if it refuses to offer anything more than a chatroom experience in favor of FFXVI, Dreadwolf, Baldur's Gate 3, and FFVII Remake part 2. Not to mention FFXI where Summoner can actually call upon its full pantheon and Blue Mage isn't reduced to a pathetic minigame. 90 levels to be able to summon full sized basic elemental primals is ludicrous at best and an insult to Summoners of the franchise at worst. I imagine we'll then be forced to wait until level 100 to summon Shiva/Ramuh/Leviathan if even that, which after a decade of waiting is too little too late.
I'd be inclined to suspect that I've hit a nerve by calling out such individuals, given how weirdly defensive you have become across multiple threads and your trend of latching on to that one specific part of posts commenting on various issues of the game. At no point did I claim that such individuals are exclusively to blame for the game's currently perceived predicament, though it can't really be denied in good faith at this point that they're an increasingly vocal portion of the game's player base.
Quite a few of us have been asking for more character customisation for male characters for years - including masculine hairstyles, cash shop outfits and eyebrows for highlander men. So far, the game has doubled down on catering largely to the Twitter crowd and their often niche but vocal tastes.
Then, in turn, some of us express concern and face these rather bizarre accusations because we want a proper bone thrown our way from time to time.
In other words, I would kindly ask that you cease re-framing discussion points in bad faith.
You seem to really love the use of "stalking" and "obsessive", you also called me on "stalking" behavior because I post in the forums, all that because I dislike some parts of the game, while I like others.
Looks like you could use a dictionary to know what the words you use actually mean instead of throwing them all over the place.
Found the post for reference
I agree. I'm honestly not sure why anyone cares how other spend their free time in the game, so long as they aren't being disruptive to others in-game. You don't need to follow their social media on Twitter to be offended by their mods or activities.
I don't ERP or even RP in this game, but I don't care if this is how people enjoy their free time. It's theirs to spend as they like.
Stalking the forums, not individual people. Some words have multiple definitions, you know? Maybe if you did more than sit in your digital house all day while making seethe posts on the forum, you'd know that.
I don't need to have a personal stake in something to make light of the intellectual laziness inherent in grabbing a group that generally minds its own business and probably doesn't post on these forums and pinning the blame on them. I know you think nobody will bat for that group, and rightfully so- because those players interact very little with people who fall outside of their cliques and therefore do not build up any kind of rapport with different arms of the community. That also makes them low-hanging fruit.
But I'm sure you're a 100% convinced that the very same group you malign for chronically ignoring and avoiding all content is also the group responsible for there allegedly being less content. Because a group that doesn't engage with the existing content (voluntarily or not) is most definitely going to be concerned with culling that which they're already ignoring as is.
And I would request that you start discussing in good faith, as well as refrain from being two-faced, making bold, generalizing statements when on the offensive and then turning around and appealing to some sort of sense of forum honor and etiquette when you're called out on your poor conduct while playing at being meek.
Try again.
