I will continue playing whether they add them or not. And I seriously doubt that more than a small fraction of the complainers will actually buy a fantasia in the first place. But will I get a good kick out of them calling the bluff of the ragers? Damn straight I will.

FFXIV is a waifu maker. I will fully admit that and its why I support a more elegant or cute male viera. Rather it be au ra esque viera or an elezen one. I feel that women in this game only have really two options when make 'cute' males and that are the male lowlanders and male miqotes. I suppose that you can put male elezens down but their proportions really put them at a disadvantage here and they come off more handsome. I feel there is a market for female gamers wanting their 'bishonen' character. But like you I would not equate that to sexism. What I took from Billy is that he did not want his decision of unsubbing and feeling that there is sexism involved as a scourge on the thread. I am just saying that its a small issues within THIS thread that I have hardly seen discussed through the almost 200 pages.

Does it come up? Yes, but not as often as to be the focus because I think the majority is focused on wanting a new option for those who want a cute male character to play as.

I never said they can't quit. I'm simply pointing out the fact that if they're willing to quit over something that has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the gameplay, then they never liked the game to begin with. Unless someone can show me a dungeon, raid, quest, story, gathering or crafting that you could only do if you're a male viera.

To add, this version makes no sense to me. Given the biologic lore Viera got. If they dont differ til age of 13, how can they be still mini (and this can be considered mature?) I doubt it.

Probably just looking for attention since most of the "We support genderlock, these people are whiners" threads aren't as active, since I imagine many reasonable people who disagree with the response to male viera have said their piece and moved on to actually discussing things about the game. Rather than dedicating time to attempting to agitate people.

For those of you curious about what the french are saying, they find the NA forums to be ridiculous in regards to the accusations of sexism, homophobia, and other personal attacks against the devs. They are calling this a "rise to arms".

There are other french players who express they want to see male viera and female hrothgar.

I completely agree with you. I don't want to see another character with a wide torso, since we have highlander, au ra, roegadyn, and now hrothgar. Even midlander and miqo'te still have a somewhat wide torso. I also agree with your last point - SE may take this as we don't know what we want, and since they don't want any people being severely disappointed, they might not even bother with male viera. However, I think it's important to at least somewhat reflect what people want in the OP, so I was open to revising things.

Even those who want this would still agree that an omega m body type for male viera would be an ok compromise. So, I once again revised my first post to include the different types of viera, but made it a point to say that many of us would be ok with omega m body type as a compromise.

Well if they are going for dimorphism that would certainly fit >.>, though i think that fits more for an npc, and if its for a player character it should look like, as old as Vaan in game.

In my opinion viera males should look tall, beautiful and elegant just as a good as their counterpart(female viera). I just can't wrap my mind around imagining a little fella (almost childlike as some wish) mating with a much bigger mature looking female.

(Maybe add some of these in the op to make it nonbiased, since it's actually also a very popular design, just seeing all the fanmade artwork on printerest and social media makes it clear)

I do think faces can and should vary. In this case, yes we cant see the body type - but for me, faces matter as well. We only get a handful of preset faces. And most of them do not appeal to me (even the Miqo'te race, I tend to use mostly 1 of 4).

The way he added it in is fine. Not all of us want "slender males" out of Viera, and it's untrue that there's no slender male options in the game, when midlanders, miqo'te and elezen can be designed that way. It may not be as slender as some people would like, but that's a different thing. SE are already aware that there's a variety of artistic styles that could be used to inspire Viera and his OP is pretty clear on what the consensus has been. I don't think it hurts to say "here's some things we like", since they'll just go with whatever version of Viera they feel is best liked by the race's creator, anyway. I suspect if they feel the need to fine-tune the feedback they're getting, they'll put forward some art of their own with that end in mind.

I think they should add both genders for both races, they can easily just explain why you can be male Viera and female Hrothgar's with the alternate dimension we're going to in the expansion. The societies are obviously quite a bit different in many ways, so the rules for these races don't have to be the same as they are in Eorzea. So male Viera and Female Hrothgar can come from the new world.

I agree that there should be Male Viera and Female Viera, aswell male and female Ronso as their called ffx.

With this and putting the image in a spoiler tag, you're trhowing away all the neutrality, by this point every image that is not an official concept art and personal opinions should be put inside an spoiler tag, and if you include your opinon make sure to include that of the others, or the OP would look somewhat manupulative.

This can only lead to a lot of unnecesary threads...

If the devs see all that art they'll just feel overwhelmed and get the impression people will be unhappy no matter what they put out. The OP's become too bloated and its distracting from all the support the thread is getting. It should just be kept simple. Someone was complaining about the OP being biased and just leaving the official art up would be the most neutral way of presenting our message.
