There's something oddly addicting about watching people bait eachother into arguing about trans people.

It takes a lot more than what we've seen so far to make it to the top. Minfilia is still the clear number one in terms of nuisance.
You're glad to oppose someone because on a day of trans visibility, they pointed out that a studio chose to employ someone who is not trans to play a trans role.
Clearly you will never understand how stupid you sound.
Also your opinion means nothing because SE isn't going to listen to you. Don't worry, whatever fringe group you're desperate to be a part of is preparing your gold star with your name on it and it will be sent express mail for your convenience.
But then she accepted a role of a character that is not trans. Look I'm not for firing over the lack of morals and being a hypocrite on top of it, but it is a valid point.
That said, I am in favor of firing someone over being unprofessional and bad at their job.
It isn't valid. It's a visibility day for a minority group. It's a role for a minority group. I hope this helps.

Not really unprofessional or particularly mean spirited either.
It's ok to have "beliefs" but these sorts of beliefs in a nature are usually ways to hide open discrimination, you can believe things without discrimination and I'm sorry but I think in a social setting certain beliefs (idk like being against very basic rights) should generally not be tolerated, If someone wants to call out those "beliefs" for being harmful they should. You might find it ok, but a lot of people are suffering because of those beliefs.
apart of the story is about accepting different people for their differences and that's not a weakness, yeah a lot of stuff isn't Official or baked in the story, but the community surrounding ff14 is accepting when it comes to those sorts of rights which is a strength of the MMO (community), I think that's what the previous poster was also referring to that the community is pretty accepting.
You don't have to agree with it, in order for it to be valid. Validity is not based upon feelings.
I even said that I don't agree with the idea of it being a reason to fire the VA, but the lack of professionalism (making a post too early about their job) and the poor voice acting is.
By the way, the hypocritical post is targeting and immoral. Sena is not calling for people being let go over poor performance but over identity.
It's not my opinion, it just isn't equivalent. Men and women are not minority groups. Black men are, trans women are, etc. So representation for them in all kinds of acting is important. SE also does this all the time...in XIV and other titles. The infamous Forspoken, Barrett in VIIR, Sazh in XIII. It just makes sense. Why would you cast a minority group any other way as long as it's within your power?
I haven't heard the performance to have an opinion on its quality, but I'll note that whenever you hear what you think is poor voice acting in a finished product and it's not a celebrity guest, the first person you should want to fire is rarely the actor - it's the VO director. A novice VA is not signing off on their own work, so if it comes out bad, who's handing it in and saying it's good enough for the finished product? Considering that this game has had multiple poorly directed and phoned-in EN performances for years, I know who I'm looking at...
This is an opinion in every single aspect. Factual reality is very different. And that's also very discriminatory towards men, women and Christians.
Your beliefs hurt others, too. Especially me and my family. Beliefs that hurt others are not okay to have. I would've thought this would be known by everyone after WW2, but then again, that would be overestimating the mental prowess of your average 'they.'

You all know better than to take bait this cheap.
Lmao. No. Just no. You claim persecution when you aren't able to force your beliefs on others. That is not persecution.
And I'm sure you'll say "but they are trying to force their beliefs on us" and no, no they aren't.
They are only trying to be treated equally.
I was waiting for this argument to come up, because I knew you couldn't stop yourself from saying you are persecuted.
Just a last general comment for today...SE is a progressive company. They always have been. If you're expecting some kind of knee bending over Sena because she tweeted about wanting more trans people playing trans roles, you are wasting your time because SE likely agrees with that. After all they hire trans people. So there's that.
Ah I love it, so when it's a trans person talking badly of cis, it's okay, but the opposite is not
progressive people are indeed something else
As a bisexual person I will stay the hell away from this "queer community" yall speak so much about, or the LGBTQIA community, yall are weird and like a cult
Oh, I'm sure they do. There's just always going to be some people more interested in dragging out a fight than actually minimizing harm.
Of course, one could argue that being here, participating in this thread, keeping it anywhere near the top, and giving people like [gestures broadly] the chance to keep talking to anything other than empty air isn't helping, so! May this thread burn in the fire that it deserves.
The voice is unnatural, and not in a "oh wow, cool" way. Sounds dopey with that "accent" or whatever we are calling it.
No one cares about minority or majority. People are people. You figure it out eventually. Just vary your sources more.
A person is a hypocrite for wanting to play a character that is not trans, while they are trans themselves, but push for non-trans people to be ousted from a job where they play a trans character.
No, it's not a fact. That's just how you feel.
Please give us examples of this "most persecuted" that is happening. Or is your problem that you are being told that if you choose to discriminate against others, others will be allowed to discriminate against you in turn?
They're also not least represented. They're no longer a majority but that is not the same as "least represented".
The more I read these threads, the more I realize there aren't any actual problems with Wuk Lamat's acting, and the better I feel about Dawntrail.
It's very clearly just the people who have issues with pronouns in bios coming out of the woodwork.
I didn't know people were talking badly of cis people? I didn't really know cis people were in real need of representation either? like that's the key difference.
I mean for sure theirs certainly people who are progressive who are also bad, but "being progressive" or "woke" is a easy way to parody and box people who are actually very reasonable, not everyone is mind you but that's just the nature of every community, you will get extreme examples.
The "queer community" tends to stand up for LGBTQ+ Rights which I don't think is cult like at all, In reality most lgbtq+ people (like me) don't really consider themselves a active massive part of the community, I'm my own person at the end of the day, but do support the general rights such as lgbtq+ rights.
I don't know if you're one of those "both sides" people or just dislike people who are generally are apart of that community, but when you argue that people can say they didn't like the VA without being a phobic person (which is 100% true, I agree there), that it's unfair to label those people as "anti trans" as they have valid criticism, but you also generalise everyone apart of the community as this cult? or anyone pointing out that yeah theirs actually some people who are doing it to simply just to be transphobic.
This discussion is pretty tiring honestly, People being defensive about identity's might seem wild but the reason why people act like that is because they generally have to, Most LGBTQ+ People don't want to have to constantly talk about this sort of stuff, but they still have to do it because of people calling into question their own rights.
Then talk about her performance. Unfortunately, you all keep pointing towards her gender identity as an issue, which it is not.
I would take a break from this thread, collect your thoughts, and then return when you can properly lay them out without somehow making it about gender identity. It's not relevant.
I look forward to seeing any actual criticisms.
Do you think arguments like this lines up and speaks for every or even most progressive people? it mainly speaks for a small amount of people, No one needs to date anyone for whatever reason, seriously being progressive doesn't mean you have to agree with stuff like this, if you realised that many would denounce this sort of behaviour in "The community".
I don't even think trans women and trans men want to be with someone who wouldn't like them back anyway lol. You can be progressive and not agree with every progressive lol.
You guys put up with Alphinaud and Urianger for starters?
I mean come on?
Wuk Lamat is great and different, also keep in mind she is from another part of the world in FFXIV... it would be terrible if had some kind of British Accent or American or the likes...
Give it some time to let it actually sink in, before you complain, it is more like that people want and like to be racist at first sight or being judgemental to the extremes, which is what we need less of on Planet Earth, just look around a bit with horrible things going on in general as of current.
I never said it did speak for every progressive. I was sharing a story based on personal experience based on Stormy's personal experience. I wasn't intending on attacking "All progressives", I AM one lol.
Was just musing
I love Urianger lol. ARR Alphinaud, yea, that was pretty bad haha. Weirdly enough, probably my favorite voice actor, or at least voice moment was when Lyna was at her breaking point. Incredible!
fair enough sorry, don't mean to take you out of context or anything, just assumed that due to the person in the replies, distancing themselves from that community (who was generalising, these communities).
I actually do think it reflects on a lot of how people view others being progressive, that you agree with everything in the community mb though.
I honestly don't find the voice acting that horrible? It's not top notch quality, but it's passable. Her personality will definitely annoy the hell out of me because I just don't like this type of peppy, upbeat character. As for her design, that's unfortunately what Hrothgals are like. They're furry Femroes with uncanny valley nightmares for faces.
She is guilt for being....too cute
Punishment: daily post about her in the best forum of the internet

"No one cares" is not an argument. You're dismissed. Sena is not in any way a hypocrite because a. YES minority groups absolutely matter. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. "Women" is not a small sub group that lacks representation. Trans women are. B. Trans women are women. In the same way Gaia apples are a type of apple. Learn it fast, quick, and don't quote me again. You clearly lack the capability to understand basic concepts. If a recipe calls for Gaia apples, you can't use "apple". If a recipe calls for "apple," you can use Gaia apples.
"People are people" lmao. Yes let's go back through history and just tell everyone that. Read a book or something, wow.
Why don't we just head over to Israel right now, or travel back in time to WWII. The Civil War. Hiroshima. "Don't worry guys, people are people!".
I also forgot to mention Sena did not call for anyone to be ousted. In fact she dissented from her peers by asking for the VA to voluntarily step down in a sign of solidarity and they declined. This is why your post is so incredibly dangerous-- not only do you not acknowledge the existence of minority groups but you also didn't actually read the tweets and made up your own version colored by bigotry...which btw, your targeting of a trans person is one of the exact reasons they're a protected minority lmaoo.
