This is one thing I have the biggest problem with because I have literally seen freshly made bot characters in underwear purchases houses because of this. I know it may not be a big deal for them to level up and get the their grand company rank up but they should have to jump through hoops to do this. This part kinda makes me upset because I know they keep making new characters and they don't even have to do any quests just have the permissions and gil and away they go.
I kind of like this but also hate this, but this is coming from someone who literally just has enough for maybe 3 houses and a small guild with only people I know irl. I am talking maybe enough for 3 smalls worth so if we were to even think about increasing our odds for 3 different plots we would be guaranteed to literally be too broke for one. It would literally be one ticket put in for 3 houses so I guess they just want whatever amount of members to throw in for one house so they don't get the penalty. Kind of strange though in a way but I do like this as well because that means the people with say 150 members will be punished for trying to bid on the entire ward at once, but does not stop them from putting in 50 tickets on 3 plots. I guess if you have the gill to spend this honestly would not disincentive those people from doing it anyway honestly.
So I guess what square wants is the real lottery to be what they are basing things off of where a rich person who buys 70 tickets has a better chance of winning than the shmuck who could only afford one. I don't play the lotto.(I am speaking of the lotto where your name is in one of those barrels and someone puts in 150 names against your one small piece of paper. Sure there is a chance you might get lucky and your name is picked against all odds, but the probability is like rolling a weighted dice.)
This also reminds me of the person who claimed you did not have an advantage by purchasing more retainers, but the chance of getting fat kitties increases with each fishing retainer. More retainers more chances. Sure the rng in final fantasy has left my poor partner fat kitty minion less for almost a year now, but that one time they streak positively I feel like they will end up getting 10 fat cat minions in the span of two weeks or something crazy. I think they did at the start they landed 4 fat cat minions in a row and now none for almost a year. I honestly do not know what to think about the rng in final fantasy, it is truly something else like that poor person stuck with a ton of those cute bom boko tabletop decorations that they couldn't sell, and on the other hand there was someone who couldn't get them at all.
Aye the least they could do is make it one house per server but that would stop the ability to have a house for your character I guess for rp purposes, it would suck, but at this point there are not enough houses to begin with, so having luxuries like one house for each character is just not something you should be allowed to do. It was different in swtor because you can literally get one instance house in each area and share it with your legacy without it causing issues for other people. Everyone got one stronghold in each area so you could decorate I think it was 9 places for role play which was just....I miss that game sometimes.
