This has to stop.

I do instances as a tank. If they insist on running off without me while i watch my cutscenes (if it's the first time I do whether they like it or not) and they die then tough luck. Pay attention to where your people are.

My first CM run I told them straight away I was new and would be watching cs. Nobody commented on that so things were going fine till that one fight with the airship firing at the ground and everything went to hell. I didn't know where to go and my map was still partially blank and one person was like "Tanks! What are you doing? ZOMG WTFBBQ!". I just shook my head and ran around trying to find them. They had all died and were heading back when i found them and then it worked fine.

I also barely step over the purple line and wait there till I see everyone appear before attacking the bosses. This is how things should be done.

some points, the Cut scene are watchable in the inn, simply for be able to see it one more time (some are badass like the one in prae)... not see it for the first time!!!

it's rude to force people do like this because you have already done it tons of time... it's them first time! respect this!

DUTY FINDER ARE NOT FOR SPEEDRUN!

Most of the dungeon cutscenes can't be watched in the Inn room.

Yea, this would def piss me off. I haven't made it to CM yet but i don't give 2 shits about your speed run. Im playing a FINAL FANTASY title and the story is the most important thing to me and MANY others.... Let someone tell me i have to skip the cut scenes and i will just laugh in their face and tell them to kiss the bottom of my boots.

Better hope the person isn't the healer or good luck on that

Oh you must mean the parties that get flamed for asking for geared players for CM? At the end of the day everyone just wants everyone else to play how they think the game should be played. We aren't getting anywhere. votekick is the solution for DF.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. In a DF dungeon run, it is considered rude to ask players to skip cutscenes. It is a part of the game design, and players do enjoy these things. If you want to get in a party that skips these things, go shout in Mor Dhana.

The dungeon is very do-able with one healer and one tank.

If I'm making a PUG I'll have 6 DPS, one tank and one healer. It's fine.

That's a great solution! A bunch of impatient jerks get to decide who gets to play based on a majority vote. Nothing better than waiting for two to three hours (as a damage dealer) to get into a dungeon you NEED to progress, only to be kicked out for a really selfish, childish reason. You get flamed in chat? Report them, block them and find your party. Join an FC, find some friends. Bottom line, if you want to skip parts of something, its on YOU to find like minded people. Everyone else is just doing the dungeon like the developers wanted.. You didn't mind, but would you have minded if they pressured you into stopping? You don't mind losing out on fun of experiencing the dungeon? Good for you.

You want to speed run? Do it on your OWN time.

If I used your mentality, I can just say that if you're at end game, and don't have a regular farming group, you're doing it wrong.

I've yet to play a game where hardorce raiders/farming was done through the party finder system. If you're really serious enough to where you need to shave off seconds to minutes from dungeon running, either free up your schedule, get some friends, or join an FC.

Nope. You are not "required" to watch the cutscenes or use the DF to advance the story. Players interested in watching cutscenes are just as capable of forming their own groups, and they should because 7 players inconveniencing 1 makes whole lot more sense than 1 player inconveniencing 7.

My thought is this. I like watching the cut scenes the first time around if they have a SL (storyline) point to them. Information is good from Storyline Standpoint.

When your quest tells you to use the duty finder and enter the dungeon, guess what? They're going to use it. Duty finders aren't made for farming. Thats what guilds/premades are for.

That is in fact the opposite of what that means.

The fact that speed runners are the vast majority means it's easier to make a premade CMSR group than it is to make a party filled with first timers looking to enjoy the story. Duty finder is really the only place you can go to treat the mission as the story mission it is.

With the constant "LFM CMSR" shouts in Revenant's Toll, I think anyone who would rather DF CM than join a server side pug, is just too embarrassed about poor gear, knowledge, and/or skill to join one server side.

OT: I agree OP, it should absolutely stop. More importantly, I wish there was some way to convince every first timer to just watch their CSs, there is literally nothing the DF champions can do to stop you.

Forming a premade requires more effort and is less convenient than using the duty finder. Why should the majority of players use the less convenient method of forming a party? Using the duty finder for speedruns inconveniences the fewest number of players overall.

It's not that much effort - I don't even have to lift a finger for it. In my FC, the moment someone says they are looking to start a CM speed run party, it fills up within 2 minutes, off to the queue right after. There are more speed runners than new players who want to watch cutscenes in the game.

If all speedrunners ceased using the duty finder, new players would constantly find a group in DF too, but in general they are expected to use the DF compared to speed runners - the quest description even says Use the Duty Finder to enter Castrum Meridianum.

Stop throwing new players under the bus - people like you will have a much easier time finding a speed running party, than them finding a cutscene watching party.

That's why I saw queueing up with JP only. If someone watches the cutscenes they don't say anything about it. They may continue on without them though. Not that it really matters because they'll still get to see the CS lol.

Here's an easy fix. There needs to be two options when you register for duty finder. Include cut scenes or don't include them. then everyone can choose the type of run they want. And the version that includes cut scenes, advancement should be blocked until all have finished or skipped them.

Agree, this has to stop. Personally I skipped first time. The cutscreenes was too bad to watch in CM and the last one was timedemanding as it was and I did not want to risk that the run I queued for in 3½ hour failed. Still had a player watching though and patient and nice (having common sense and giving proper respect to other players) as we was we let him do so without quarrel, just like it SHOULD be!

Add 100 more tomestones to the final boss if a first timer successfully watches all cutscenes, done. :D

Then people will start begging you to watch everything :D

Count yourself lucky you get in to CM with experienced people and run it fast because in an ALL new group it takes most of that 2 hour timer(more then that fi they really suck). What needs to stop is the afk moochers you can not do anything about them if you report them it does no good. Hell I reported griefing on garuda hard mode where a whm just chain pulled the boss to wipe the party till someone left to avoid the 15 minute debuff and SE pretty much said hes allowed to play how he wants so go shit in a hat.

Vote kick is needed. A blacklist for the duty finder is needed. Or a master solution would be get rid of the duty finder altogether so people will learn to play and gear up so they will get invited to groups.

Gee, I feel so lucky waiting in queue half an hour only to be lumped in with a team that won't let me watch the cut-scenes. Guess i better throw the dice and hope in another 45 minutes my new team isn't also speed running it.

Doesn't really matter much if 1 person wants to watch a cutscene let them. We just kept going on with the run killing trash, bosses ect while he watches. CM is so easy you don't even need all the people to continue if 1 guy is watching CS, let them not really slowing the run down too much. We didn't really care if we had 1 guy in CS full time.

Do people not realize that NOBODY is forcing you to skip them? Just watch them and let people complain.

I didn't know that clearing CM anything more than 30 minutes is considered as bad. Gee, we have standards for clearing dungeons in record time now?

I don't need an experienced group to complete CM. Any new player can complete CM with a relatively new team - that's what a story mode dungeon is, right?

Vote kick will make people like you gloat more, because you can now vote and kick the newbie, who will have to make the choice between enjoying the content he is entitled to, and paid for, or to satiate the 7 other people like you who feel their time is more important than anyone else's.
