Theres so much stuff for free or REALLY cheep... when i was new most furniture was expensive or rare, nowadays you get primal stuff for 3k or even less... it doesnt kill you to place a garden patch, any tree or flower and maybe a well or spring, or pond... anything.

Again, why are you so invested in other people's time and money? You have an entire 24 hours of the day you can dedicate to you, your family, and your friends. This stranger, which you've likely never interacted with, is living rent free inside your head because they don't decorate their house lol. They can do what they want with it. Maybe they don't have time to decorate it, maybe they're busy doing their own thing, bottom line is: who cares?

This is a game dude, it's not IRL, I'm not going to expect their house to literally rot in front of my eyes. Also I've lived in neighborhoods where some of my neighbor's houses looked exactly as you described. I don't care because it's frankly not my business!

Seriously lol, these poor homeowners cannot win. Either salty people want their houses taken away so they can get a home, or homeowners want their neighbor's home taken away because they don't like what they're doing with them. Homeowners aren't entitled to cater to you or anyone else's tastes, they played by the rules and got a house, and that's that. It doesn't kill you to mind your own business and let the powers be where they be btw.

I get it when you get a house and don't have the time and resources to decorate it right away. But there are so many houses almost empty for years now. It's unfair and disrespectful towards other people who would love to decorate a house but only could get an apartment. Even if it doesn't affect the me personally because I was lucky enough to get a house years ago. It's still unfair towards players who didn't.

I don't understand all the people who say I shouldn't care; why is being inconsiderate towards other people so extremely encouraged by everyone even if they wouldn't do it? It's the exact same with how people are ok with carrying AFK players through content (and countless things irl). Every time someone rants about it there are a hundred people defending them...

No, that's remotely not even the same thing btw. Being carried through content is vastly different from sitting in your empty home. Imagine if I came into your home and yelled about how it's not decorated enough to my tastes, would you be ok with that? Wouldn't I be the rude one? Many people don't have the talent to decorate or just simply don't want to put time into it, that's ok. It's not for everyone, and it doesn't mean that they should have their house taken away for it lol.

There's the infamous Mateus person who owns multiple wards or something close to that, is that inconsiderate and rude? Or is it ok because they beautifully decorated the homes to look like little towns? They were grandfathered in, so it's not like they used shell FCs or anything like that to achieve that result. But now because housing is so limited, many people have called that out as rude behavior.

It's impossible for multiple house ownership on Spriggan to be grandfathered in. The rules change leading to the grandfathered housing was in 4.2. Spriggan housing didn't open until 5.08.

There most definitely was abuse of shell FCs to gain control of almost an entire ward on Spriggan. I remember seeing it when I did a housing census late 2019. Spriggan was not the only world where I found similar abuse of shells FCs to gain control of most of a ward.

The infamous ward that was grandfathered was on Mateus.

It is not the players responsibility to give content to other players. If people yearn for a house, SE should be providing them.

If you aren't decorating your house right now and hand it over to another player, there's a good chance you'll never get one again in the future if you change your mind. You aren't obligated to make that sacrifice because the devs designed the system poorly. It's not on you.

Personally though, I would ban players from housing who attack other players or harass them over not deserving a plot.

Personal housing cannot accommodate for playerbase demand, seems like its a SE problem to me. What's difficult about throwing your money into a lotto for a chance to win a house again?

They do exist, and they are available. Therefore, housing is available.

This game throws gil at players; the only poor players are those that play poorly.
And there's a lot of RNG in loot drops, especially mount drops.

So again, what's the difficulty of throwing your money at RNGesus? Like you said, the poor players are the people who play poorly, so they don't deserve a 40m house. Hell, if they don't have the 3mil minimum, they don't deserve a small either, right?

However, the people who have played efficiently, and have saved up their money for a medium or a large, they should be able to get one, should they not? After all, they put in the time and effort to save all that gil.

And yes, there is a lot of RNG in loot drops, grind enough and you'll eventually get one though. At the very least, you'll eventually get one if you do it consistently enough. Housing doesn't really have that chance when you consider the amount of people bidding on a plot. /shrug

People complaining about "housing" are really complaining about trophy housing (i.e., houses), not about "housing."
SO, do they just want the big publicly-visible real estate that makes them special?

I'll argue that it's more like a bandaid; it's smaller, you don't have the features of a regular house (garden, outdoor furniture, ect). Yes, the appeal is also that the house is bigger and you have a bigger space to be more creative in, if you want. I wonder, why doesn't it also apply to the people who constantly insist that they want neighborhoods because of the "neighborhood feel" despite wards being dead most of the time.

The only real upsides of an apartment is that it's a permanent fixture and that's it's cheaper, of course.
Also, at least in my opinion, I don't really care for the "special" feeling of it lol. I just like decorating, so it's what I do. I imagine most people who care want instanced housing, don't really care about it being a special trophy, they just want a big space of their own.

Again, apartments were a bandaid, not a "fix" - a fix would be the personal housing itself. I think you and I have seen many, many, many times how people regard apartments as inadequate. Funny how in other games btw, this feeling of a house "being a trophy", isn't even an argument. Only here it is because SE flubbed housing real hard.
