The honest answer to that is we do not know. No one here knows what the agreements are between SE and the companies that allow the came to be accessed in China and Korea.

However, both the Panda Bear (Chinese exclusive minion) and the Magpie (Korean exclusive minion), were reskins of already existing assets that SE owned from FFXIV. Nana bear and blue bird. In fact, all of the exclusive items have been made in house by the FFXIV Development team, meaning the assets are already owned by SE. What we don't know is if there are contractual obligations keeping them from distributing them in other regions.

Show us where the NA players received a unique model flying mount? It's special treatment for one region and it's not right. Give the NA region a unique promo mount that not other regions can get and then I can see the fairness in your statement. Otherwise, you are protecting regional favoritism and it's sad.

Like native Chinese players could never be playing in another region... There is literally zero reasons why in-house designed items are not making it to all regions of the game. It's as simple as making a variant if there is some contract in the way. There is no reason my lala can't have a cloud mount, just lazy excuses and poor arguments.

Blizzard actually din't have any legal problems releasing pandaren if that's what you were referring to. That concept got brought up in one of the old Warcraft games well before the "Kung Fu Panda" movies.

As for the panda minion in THIS game, there probably wasn't any major "god help us" levels of overhauling since the design and coding for it was already in place. Maybe a couple of consensus checks or votes from the development team, applying whatever the original coding was for it from the Chinese region into the Western region and voila, pandas for all if the price is right. Worst case scenario might be if there was any disputes between region teams, but we don't know and probably shouldn't know anyway. Since SE ultimately owns all the content of and in the game, there shouldn't really be any legal troubles with the matter, especially when it comes to most of the Chinese region exclusives.

I think having exclusive items for a region is pretty cool it just seems a bit unbalanced in that some regions get nothing. EU and AUS being the the ones having to wait the longest most of the time. I think you can have the exclusive items as normal but then just put them on the MS. Then it's becomes the same for everyone, win - win.

No, I read it. I just don't agree with the sentiment of it, nor the way it was worded. This post, however, gives the intent that I missed in your original post.

However, I still disagree. I don't want to campaign for NA and EU exlusive items, I'd rather see every region get a chance to enjoy all items the dev and art team have made. I know this will never be the case for the Chinese version of the game, because of their extreme censorship laws, and while that certainly is a shame I also disagree with the idea that because of their strict government they get some of the most stunning asian inspired outfits and mounts in the game.

I understand your frustration, OP. And I understand the difference between wanting something and thinking you are entitled to something. I really hate region exclusives when it comes to anything. Because it's not like I can up and move to Japan or China or Korea to get these items, be it related to FFXIV or even something completely different. Same applies to stuff only accessible in the US. It's ridiculous, and barring government censorship (something else I don't like), why can everyone just have the same things? We all pay for the game.

Like the new Amazon preorder. My friend in the EU just wants the maid outfit. That's it. But she can't get it due to where she lives. And yeah, it's nice they made these available to the US, but why not to the EU as well? It's ridiculous.

The only things I understand remaining exclusive are legacy items. As much as I would love the WoL tattoo, I'd actually be happier with SE implementing tattoos into character creation--something more than just face paint or facial markings. That way I can customize a better tattoo to suit my character, which is what I really want as opposed to a legacy tattoo (as cool as it is).

Everyone talks about housing, and I understand things like FC housing gives you access to airships for venture loot and the Diadem, but I have friends in other FCs with airships that took me and my friends to Diadem with them when they went. So it's not like that was completely inaccessible. Even the venture items are available on the MB, albeit for a high price for some. And if these people whining about the housing issues don't even care about or want a house, then why continue whining about it? Yes, it's an issue. But if you don't even care about it, why butt into a thread about something else to whine about something you don't even care about?

That Korean dress is a beautiful piece of glamour. I'd love to see something similar available to the NA/EU one day. I really enjoy glamouring, and I was super excited when I unlocked the quest for it. It hurts when I play on my low level alts not being able to glamour things. XD

Everyone is wanting the Chinese and Korean items but I don't see a lot of talk about giving Chinese and Korean players the option to buy OUR exclusive items. I know they can't have the GS cause gambling is illegal in their countries, but they could at least have the option to buy all of our exclusive items too.

They have access to all our items, including Veteran rewards, which someone stated they get via daily quests.

Also, EU and NA have ZERO exclusive items.

Not exactly.. Chinese and Korean games are notorious for their Gachapon with broken rates.

EU and AUS have still not received any new items, the past 3 weeks we have only heard "We are working on it" followed by a sillence. The NA event got extended, it would not suprise me if we dont get the event untill September.

Making these items for the Japanese players only (Yoshida said that the maid outfit was for Japanse region only, untill there was a outcry from the western players) was a big mistake and a stupid one aswell. The Japanese players are not the only one paying for this game, the NA and EU are aswell. Its sad that in 2016, SE still thinks its oke to give one region a item and act suprised when they find out that other regions want those items aswell.

We are almost in July and EU and AUS has still not received anything, no data on when our events are being released, nothing. 3 weeks ago we got a "We are working on it" folllowed by a silence. Next time SE when you want to release those type of items this is what you should do:

1: Make the items for all your players, the Japanse region players are not more special then your North American region players, European region players (AUS included). Its stupid to think that players would not like extra glamours.
2: Release the outfits at the same time for everyone, if you are not able to arrange these promotion on time for some regions, then wait with the other regions aswell. There is a reason why players think that the Japanese players are being favourited by SE and the way you have handled this is not realy disproving.

I think SE is going to do this again, mark my words in 6 months or a year, SE will make an another promotion with outfits and mounts for the Japanese region again. The players from the NA and EU will find out and complain to SE, Yoshida will come and say "I did not know that the NA and EU players wanted this" then there is a Live Letter where Yoshida will say "If the NA and EU want the those items aswell, please let us know by asking for it via the forums". Few months later, we see those promotions being made for NA and then (maybe) also for EU.

How about instead of making these items for one region and then be suprised that the rest of the community want these items aswell, you release them all at the same time and avoid this bullcrap?

Give us all the items we obviously want them I don't get why they even bother asking because it's obvious what the answer is.

If it's the one you quoted the translated Q&A from a couple of posts back... I'd say that "being added on the Japanese side of things" implies "the Japanese developer side" and not "JP mogshop". Unless it's worded more specifically somewhere else, of course.

Its been a month now and still no news, if they atleast told us which month its going to be, we would have something...

I think those rumors of EU/AUS getting those promotions in September is starting to look more real.

Thanks for your kind words. I would not be suprised, if we see those items released for the JP community first then few months later for the rest of the community. I would also not be suprised if the JP communty get those items before the EU/AUS get the Summer DLC promotion.

I'm not sure if it's worded differently else where, but since the Panda minion and Magpie minion ended up up in the mogshop, I kinda took it that once this item is added into the data on our end, then it would end up in the shop there as well.

Oh yes, most certainly it will. But that doesn't mean JP-only mogshop. I interpreted it to mean "Japanese as opposed to Chinese or Korean", not "Japanese as opposed to European or North American" (since 'our' items are added over there in Japan as well). =) If I misunderstood what you meant in your post, I apologize for adding to the confusion.

I purchased the 25th Anniversary Collection set last year, the one with all the games from 1-13, a DVD and an art book, along with the Moogle Earrings. The code still seems to work, but is only valid on Japanese accounts. My account is NA, so what do I do now? Sit and wait until they bring them back for NA/EU... if ever. Well, at least I have a huge heavy pretty white box to look at.

Most of the money from this game goes on to support other games within SE, least that's what the majority of my research leads me to see. SE even has a habit of pulling developers from succesful games onto other projects, hence why YoshiP is often apologizing for their inability to provide certain requested features as quickly as they would like. The answer always comes down to 'not enough resources' and in one interview YoshiP even outright said they were hiring, specifically for programming devs. In fact, when the optional item shop was introduced, one of the biggest things YoshiP stressed about it's existance was that a very large portion of it's funds would be going towards the creation of a european data center, which we did end up getting.

Now, I understand quite well why certain promotional deals like this exist. They exist for incentive. They exist as a way to get players in that region a reason to play. It's a, hey, look at this shiny new item here, only you get it. Isn't that so cool? Come play our game! But knowing why it exists doesn't stop me from disagreeing with the notion of it's existance and thinking it's an unfair buisness model.

China and Korea get items no one else can have. Japan, for a small while, had exclusive items no one else could have, until there was feedback from the userbase for them. Eventually, they were brought over. In the mean time, North America and Europe have yet to have a single exlusive item to their name. Understanding the point of exlusive items and why they exist, how do you think that makes players feel?

I get how the old saying goes, life isn't fair. And as the Philospher Jagger once "You can't always get what you want." But that doesn't mean I'm not privy to offer my feedback for why I'd like to have the same pretty shinies as everyone else. Especially when the Developers outright asked the community to provide feedback on such a topic.

The 'Summer DLC' items have made their way to the UK. I've added these to the 'some' regions list as this promotion currently exludes many areas in EU region.

I'm still wishing for that cloud/monkey king mount SE. Please. I'll give ya like $10 for it?!

Korea has censorship laws but allow uncensored elins in Tera? I don't see how that works. Unless it's due to the "Muslim Scare", which would explain why it's only the thanaverian outfits that were censored.
