I really hope you are the one trolling us now.
dumb argument is dumb
Only tI'm I seen SE compensate time is when that earthquake hit a few years back in japan. Why would they compensate maintenance though that's what you pay them for to mantain this game.
done with the troll bait, clearly they are doing this to keep busy during the extended down time
I can't believe this is still on-going. Lately a lot of topics where the OP is long gone within 3 posts
and people then begin to mob at each other.
HURRY UP HW! The people are BORED!
I wouldn't mind if they order me some pizza. :X
Every other game I play including F2P games. Blizzard/WoW has added at least 5 days in the past year due to downtime. Even FREE games like Marvel Heroes gives compensation for longer than normal downtime by giving 100% bonus drop/XP weekends or vanity pets. This is the only game I play with such a hateful community when it comes to stuff like this, it's embarrassing reading the posts when the OP probably came from almost any other game out there.
As to scheduled maintenance, no other game takes 24 hours, even for major expansions.
wow someone feels priviledged
I Pre-ordered HW and was to get early access but due to maintenance probably will not have it but big deal...
I will just do real life stuff in the meantime, surely you can wait a few days?
And to the poster talking about companies offering compensation for downtime... it's a day or 2 max, it's not like we will be 2 weeks without access
Wanna know what ya' should of done, kiddo?
Kick that sub into action after patch day!
I doubt any. However, now we're getting into the area of what constitutes reasonable downtime. If they announced the servers would be down for a week, does that mean nobody should ask about reimbursement because it's "scheduled"? Exactly how long is too long? For you it may be a month, for someone else it's a day. Neither is right nor wrong.
Blizzard, for example, will say X hours. But then problems crop up that cause the downtime to be much longer than planned, or cause emergency maintenance soon after (something that may very well happen here). That is usually what leads to compensation for downtime being issued (even though it's not required).
Obviously it's safer for developers to pad their estimate, which is fine as long as they're trying their best to get it as done as quickly as possible. It doesn't suck if questions about downtime compensation eventually lead to a developer reevaluating their procedures and finding ways to shorten their maintenance periods. To read the responses in this thread though one would think we should all just roll along with everything because room for improvement doesn't exist.
Ahh, the ramblings of a 12 year old... Next we will hear about how these kids are contacting lawyers and bringing lawsuits as they find out that they get nothing. It's all too predictable as these kids make a big deal out of this stuff in every game forum there is.
lol ok lets do some math :P
u pay around 14 € for 30 days playtime soooo 14/30 = 0,4666 .
So you want a compensation for 0,436666 Cent? how about a lolipop or a bonbon :P
They have also never scheduled 24 hours of maintenance. Doesn't bother me either way, I'm doing RBGs on Wow on my other monitor as I type this (yay for being on defense) plus I still need to go to the gym today. Only reason I posted is against the toxic community here since the OP probably came from a different game; I mean did we really need 150 posts flaming the guy?
I consider it compensation if I'm allowed to play when the maintenance is over.
I haven't seen a 24 hour maintenence in any MMO I played before this one. Are they actually doing work during that full 24 hour maintenence? Even in other MMOs expansions 24 hours was not normal for a maintenence window.
I have never seen 24h maintenance either. HOWEVER, every expansion I have been a part of (which there are a number of), there were days/weeks of bugs/lag/disconnects/crashes/restarts/more maintenance/etc that added up, imho, to way more than 24h of unplayability. If they can get EVERYTHING done in 24h and I can play the way I did prior the xpac then I am good with it.
Note: I, in no way, realistically expect perfection even after 24 hours, but I do feel the longer maintenance will curb some of the post-xpac woes experienced by other titles.
Wait, the ToS actually has an inclusion for "acts of Bahamut"? That (alone) made this worth the read.
I just didn't play WoW for the first week of WoD, played SW:ToR during that mess. Just like if HW is a hot mess I wont complain and play some WoW, or go to the Zoo since I haven't been in a while. But I won't come on here and flame people for asking (to them) an honest question.
I have no issue with the length of the maintenance. Wouldn't care if it was even two or three days. There are other things I can do besides play this game. I also won't be participating in the guaranteed rage thread for people who can't login at 5am EDT tomorrow, even though every MMO ever encounters capacity issues at the launch of any major expansion.
Umm... no. It's scheduled maintenance. Reimbursement is only done for unannounced, emergency maintenance for some MMOs. It isn't done at all for FFXIV... mainly because they don't do surprise maintenance.
So do you think they maybe put up that notice of 24 hours with the knowledge that they will probably get done faster? It does say in the launcher that end time is subject to change. Is it likely they will be done several hours early? Maybe? I'm really hoping to play tonight.
Were it just a normal patch, perhaps. For an expansion though (when people have likely "arranged" their rl to accomodate it) I doubt they would bring it up early even if it *was* done.
Why people! Why.....
Sobbing....
Because it is not 5am EST. Isn't that obvious? :P
