It's this.
Gogo Picard
EDIT: I got super ninja'd.
It would be if it didn't come in handy so often... :PQuote:
Is it bad that I have one saved on a wordpad somewhere on my hard drive specifically for spectacularly bad trolls/stupid people? <.<
BACK ON TOPIC PEOPLE: How do you guys feel about City to City airship and Chocobo/Mount testing around 1.19?
I WANT IT NOW.
Kwehkwehkwehkwehkwehkwehkweh.
Though I'll wait. I'm more excited to see what exactly the dungeons are like.
And the materia system is in 1.19 too, oh god....AND THE IFRIT BATTLE.
But city-to-city airship...maybe they'll get rid of the Anima system around then too and just let us teleport to camps for free. And also I won't have to go through that looooong boat ride to LL when I run out of anima...
I feel like.... I want a Red Chocobo. And a chocolate chip cookie.
But more seriously, I'll be really excited when they get the mount system going. No more walking. :)
It would be cool if they have chocobo armor like we have for our characters. Even better if there is mounted combat.
Airships with no actual 'looksie I'm on a boat in the sky look at the ground!' I'm rather MEH about. Chocobos should have been in game yesterday, make that last year (2010)! I want my yellow bird!!! And eventually I want to raise one or three! Kwehhh.
This letter was pretty awesome IMO. Guild Leves are finally going to do what they should have been doing from the beginning, I'm super excited about these changes. Finally the day where we can put FUN into Eorzea is almost here!
^_^
Soooo, what's new?
Hi All,
This is a fantastic Letter from Producer! :)
As many people were complaining about, doing the same Guildleves or going to the same boring Camps over and over really made Final Fantasy XIV about "Guildleves" and "Linking." It became the best way to SP and the most efficient way, and it really drove players to go to certain Camps and that was it.
With the changes he mentions, like Guildleves being Solo Content, this is a wonderful step in the right direction!
It now places the focus of Party SP'ing away from the same boring Guildleves / and faceless Guildleve Counter. With the Map and Monster Revisions the he's mentioned here and via the response we got on the "1 to 50 Zone" Thread, this should mean we'll get many different areas (and interesting ones at that) to go out to and *explore* and *adventure*. :)
Instead of going to Nanawa Mines or Broken Water over and over, hopefully we'll be getting our version of places like Rolanberry Fields, Crawler's Nest, Boyahda Tree, Sanctuary of Zi'tah, etc. ;) I can't wait to see what the revised regions are going to look like, what the artists will surprise us with for Partying.
I think it's a noble goal what Yoshida-san is setting forth to do (as he mentions): Quick, easy-to-hop-into Content after a day at school, work, etc., where you can jump online, and get *something* done (Solo Guildleves and Solo Quests) and spend an hour or so, or you can go and do Light Party-based content, or plan for bigger, more time-consuming, strategic content like the The Dzemael Darkhold (R50 Raid Dungeon), and future areas like that.
I loved XI, but I can see how not everyone has time (nor wants to) put a LFP (Looking For Party) Flag and wait for an hour or two until a Party forms, and then travel and get to the location and grind for 2 - 3 hours on top of that.
This is definitely turning out to be exciting times for Final Fantasy XIV. :)
I can't wait!
Clearly posting in this thread is like stepping under a 300 year old bridge. So many trolls infesting the place that it's difficult to spot a real person.
"were" being the key word. They changed leves in November (or was it December) to make them worthwhile party levelling content. News flash, nothing stays the same forever in MMOs. Hence why they're being changed yet again, this time to focus on the soloer again.
As long as I can still get faster SP doing leves than grinding mobs like raptors I have no problem with that. It really depends how good the reward will be for leve completion.
You'd have to be crazy or supertrolling to think killing 500 raptors for your rank is more fun than completing a quest where A) You get to kill a variety of mob species. B) The mobs almost always give more SP and C) You're rewarded for completion of the quest. No matter how repetitive that is it still beats grinding a single mob over and over by a long shot.
I think you're just trolling, but I already covered that with the ASCII spam you posted.
Problem is, normal grinding is supposed to be an option as well, but they fudged that up and are now fixing it.
Also:
Maybe it is you that are trolling? Given that I specifically said: So now it's being put in its' place. So I'm pretty sure I know nothing stays the same in an MMO.Quote:

there was no link bonus in alpha, and no link bonus until nov SP patch change. It was designed to be something that people could do fast, the main benefit was being able to set monster level, and get money/gear/sp at the same time, and the only way to get marks.
As people started to get better leves became just about the money, or small parties, there was a couple good leves SP wise, but overall parties blew them out the water. especially in groups with 6 or more.
If they made the Market Wards universal, that would solve the problem.
I must say that I don't know whether I will stick with this game much longer regardless of the changes and the SE name has soured with me. However Yoshi-P has impressed me tremendously with his efforts and his willingness to listen to the community. I had totally given up on this game, and now I'm intrigued again.
Probably too late for this game, but SE would be smart to let Yoshi-P take the lead in whatever future MMO they may be attempting.
If I remember the Holy Bible correctly, Lazarus was a lucky guy resurrected by Jesus Christ.
In this meaning the FFXIV itself will become Lazarus in a few months.
But you can rest assured that the revived FFXIV will not become FFXI-2. As devteam promised in 4Gamer's interview.
Kind of a disappointing letter, things we already knew and 1 nerf to leves that was needed imo. I would rather he talked more in depth about jobs, auto attack and dungeons, airships, chocobos, anima etc...
How about in a game that mainly only offers leveling, at the moment, you take out the fatigue system that limits leveling like you said you would already? There are so many limitations leveling laterally is the stupidest credence and the worst part about this entire game.
The only content is leveling and leveling to get to nms yet there's a huge huge limit on leveling. I have seen soo many people quit simply because they cannot get immersed in the game or are tired they are being told they cannot play the job they want to. Yet another letter that disappoints and hugely does not address the main issues with the game, how many times have we seen this.
I wouldn't be as angry about this and the 1.18 patch if they actually came out with patches regularly, the release cycle is way too long. I would rather have 2 week incremental patches with large patches and content more spread out. Considering 14 will probably be the game that they soak up subscriptions on for the next 7+ years the growth is severely stinted.
