I could almost put at least one thing out of every post you've had in this thread that is simply belittling, ignoring points, pointing the finger, being ignorant and hypocritical, or being completely off topic. You'd make a great politician...or a bad one depending how you look at it. But how do you expect anyone to take anything you say on this topic seriously? People that post on here could have never read a single one of your posts and be the same as they are now. It effects legitimate players. It makes the game not fun. And People do care about it. Open your eyes. I don't think lynching the bots is going to help anything, but why don't you at least try to be part of the solution and not a constant antagonist.

Legit players don't like botters it is obvious, but if you "really don't care" about botters this thread should be of no interest to you and you shouldn't be posting here.

Already judging by the previous posts, people are standing in known botter locations and killing them, and getting a rise out of it, therefore, you are doing it for self satisfaction, as you very well know that the 20 minutes you spend MPKing them, isn't even going to make a mark on their 24/7 schedule. It doesn't even hinder them. No police officer should ever enjoy using the nightstick, no guard should ever enjoy using their pepper spray, and if they do, they shouldn't be in that position.

I am not a botting sympathiser, but in the same respect, I do not condone renegade justice, as for all you know, you could be wrong, and some poor child is sitting the other side of the screen, with no idea what to do about this guy killing him over and over. It is unlikely, yes, but not outside of the realms of possibility.

If you are so bored with the game that you have become this little self professed super hero, then you should move on to something else.

I think his/her point was that WE as players can not be sure. Furthermore, persecution of any player by another player should not be tolerated. This is why they also have a harassment policy. The STF and Dev team members will be the judges of who is or is not in the wrong. Vahzl calmed down and made his/her point so there is no reason to give chase and go on the offensive.

I have seen over zealous GMs before in other MMOs. Legitimate players DO get caught in the crossfire of them blindly wielding the ban hammer, mostly because of wild accusations, doctored pictures and altered text chats that are taken out of context. Step back a bit and realize that you, under the right circumstances, could also be victimized by a false accusation. Wouldn't you want a thorough investigation then? Perhaps you would like the STF to jump to conclusions solely based on the evidence provided by someone else without first allowing you to explain your actions?

It is ok to be a "White Knight" and want to uphold the integrity of the game but lets not become doomsayers and crusaders. Let's at least let the STF continue their work and see what comes of it before we burn anyone or chop off their heads. Most of all, I think we all need to step back and realize that our role is simply to observe and report, not to condemn and execute. We do not wield the power to ban, no matter how rabid we become in our convictions.

If you got up off your ass and did what's right, the STF would have stung this major threat to the game 4 months ago. Battlecrafters would be getting nice salaries from shards. There wouldn't be a hundred rank 50 carpenters botspamming everything in the economy.

You enabled all these cheaters to get their feet in the door just as much as Square Enix did. Square Enix does what you tell them to. Because you didn't tell them to do the right thing, and demand it, they didn't do it.

Just gonna say I called this ridiculous reaction.

You start banning indiscriminately and the game will die faster than the bots can kill it. No one will play in a game where the next day your character is gone with no real explanation why. FFXI always had GM's there testing if players were botting and if they were found guilty they were suspended pending a STF investigation to see if they were RMT's. You knew what you did and why you were suspended in FFXI (most of the time).

I don't think anyone is disputing the obvious botters like in the video (at least I hope not), but the reason they aren't banning isn't because of the players. Fairly sure most of the obvious ones have been reported multiple times by now, so where does the fault lie? With SE. The entire game was designed from the gound up to combat RMT and botting. I'm pretty sure that was always on the forefront of their minds. They just don't care right now because the game has been doing so poorly. Why dedicate an entire department of GM's when you're already suffering a massive loss? To police the 5,000 players that are left? They don't want to lose more money.

I see you pointing a lot of fingers but not offering any solutions. You have none other than chasing people around and alienating people. If you want to spend your time policing a game you have no authority in then so be it. You will find out how much authority you actually do have once you are accused of and banned for harassing someone in game. You will more than likely write this off in your mind as SE not caring about botting rather than them caring about in game harassment.

You can continue to think that you or myself have the ability to "demand" anything from a billion dollar business like SE. I think you are setting yourself up for a dose of reality when they don't go hunting down the people you want banned. Ranting and raving about the sky falling does not make it so. Ranting and raving about RMT running rampant does not make it so either. If you think your brand of justice is merited then carry on. I will see you in the next title they release since you will surely run into someone at some point who will report you for harassment and you will also be banned along with the RMT.

RMT is not the only reason prices are going down on the MWs. Another reason is people not being interested in the crafting. They sell their mats for super cheap when they start running out of room...guess we should ban them too, how dare they do that. To be quite honest the only things that are selling well or at a better price are hard to obtain things like +3 gear. When supply goes down and demand is high is when RMT shine their brightest. I level many classes so this will never be an issue for me...or anyone else for that matter. When things are too high to buy on the MWs I will simply go farm them...if they are too low I will simply stop farming until the supply runs low and the price goes higher or simply NPC those items and shoot for something else. Someone choosing to not level their gathering classes or crafting classes to augment and assist their battle classes is them placing a restriction on themselves and does not warrant a panic or a game change. If you don't like how the MWs are treating you then don't use them like me.

As far as your making me an accessory to RMT...really? I mean really? I say be patient and make sure you have the right people before taking action and now I am part of the conspiracy to end this game through RMT? Really? oh man i remember people asking me to whm or mnk in salvage and them telling me that i would get sets of armors in months and i just thought........ ya they are exploiting something and i passed and guess what a few months later every single person i was close to in game was banned..... sad thing is they all RMTed new accounts so they could play again lol. I was also the only american in a Japanese only ls for years and one day half my ls disapeared they got banned for using a claiming bot .... i honestly didnt know as i had claimed many kings just by spamming enter/stun w/o a bot or did i lol most likely my ls was claiming it regardless rofl.

FFXI was full of bots (in endgame evey LS bot claimed .....>.>) but hey , bot or dont claim at all....it was sad....

Not meant as a flame. Just thought of it and put it out there. Dark did the right thing by posting the info...its just inconclusive to me at this point. I see the ban hammer coming at a key time also but I see it coming at PS3 release and/or when they start charging for the game. They will have gathered enough info by then to slap down some RMT and right when they are going to hit their prime.

I agree. His passion is great, it's nice to see that people are concerned for the game and all, but his conduct is deplorable.
