As it stands the fates already can happen at times some people can't play (like myself) so I'm not sure what you mean by that. I do think alternative turn in location would be nice as someone else mentioned. No worry on congestion hindering that.

But as you said all we can do is wait and see.

When you can't do the FATE on your world, you could easily do it on another world at a time that you can play in. For example Archaeotania FATE. If it spawned on Cactuar and you missed it, you can find another world that has a high chance of spawning to do it instead of waiting 36-72hrs.

I'm noticing a trend. The hi-pop servers are the ones complaining. Because they have no choice but to fight to get into their own instance. They don't get multiple chances anymore.

Low-pop servers? We aren't complaining one bit. I'm finding that no one in a low-pop server is complaining about the change at all, and welcoming it.

Hi-pop players want the benefits of a low-pop server, without the transfer. All they're doing is congesting the fate anyway - they aren't actually contributing to our progress. Otherwise, low-pop servers would pop at similar times as the hi-pop servers. But that's not the case at all.

In my opinion, something of this scale (that requires days to weeks, or maybe even months later on) of collaboration shouldn't be finished off with mere 30 minutes (but more realistically 3 minutes) F.A.T.E zerging event, that you might or might not get to experience due to availability of your schedule, regardless of your contribution.

If SE wants to implement some epic real time changes to the zone then it should be completely separated from the reward payout period.

Maybe the concerted work should've lasted whole day instead of 3(0) minutes, let people come in, do some stuff, take the reward, then leave if they don't care about (or have already seen) the changes. The changes itself should happen at the end of the concerted work period, so people can plan in advance whether they want to see it live or not. Not everything has to be rat race savage.

But hey, let's go with 'click this thing, then that thing, and then the other thing, repeat 4 times' F.A.T.E instead. What? You need to go do some urgent business for 5 minutes? Sorry pal, it's already ended.

But indie dev team and all that, I understand.

That's the problem, really. SE was apparently counting on people being decent to each other, but as times have proven, there will always be those who go out of their way to ruin things for others. They had the chance to play nice, and they didn't take it, so this was the result.

Which prevents players native to that server from entering and keeps the cycle going, so it's a terrible idea. Seriously, enough with that. This was the best change, bar none.

Pretty sure instances would have been a better change. This still leaves the ability to be locked out in high population servers.

Which will still be prevented if the instance reached its cap. Have you done Ixion back when SB was first released and no world visit was available? People still got locked out of the zone when Ixion appeared and they weren't quick enough. What helped prevent the instance from being congested 24/7 was the fact that Ixion's spawn timer was random.

A better approach was to figure out ways to let more participate rather than blocking. But let's wait and see how things will go for now.

So they can just continue to server hop, profiting off of the works of others? Come on, that isn't even remotely sensible and I'm sure you're aware of that. Once again, for the higher pop servers experiencing congestion, SW can implement instances, while keeping restrictions in place. Sorry, but you (and everyone else who thinks this way, assuming you weren't one of the very few that actually helped) aren't entitled reaping the rewards for others' work.

Actually I talked with several low pop server players and they are complaining. While they can finally get in and not be locked out of their fate, their work progress is creeping up incredibly slowly. So badly to the point it make take them days or more to finish one stage. Its a two sided coin. One problem got fixed but it led to another.

WAT?!

Being funny aside, most of us forsaw this as the result. No matter the amount of good deeds, the bad and the trolls tend to ruin a good thing easily. Hence why im all for hopping on the "care package" bandwagon. Let our works contribute toward other worlds when ours is in the cooldown. Let us donate towards the low pop. Or at the very least give them a point boost to keep them from taking 3x as long as us bigger servers.

I think something a lot of people are overlooking is that the content was not designed to be completed at the same rate on every server. If it was they would absolutely not have designed it around the idea of player participation being the key progress factor, they would have just flat-out timegated it. It's totally fine for some servers to lag behind in progress. I'm sure if that happens they'll open up the Firmament to wanderers on those specific servers at some point to give them a boost, but honestly what they did is very likely the best overall solution to the issue at hand. Let server residents progress their own server's rebuilding and if they need help later, utilize the World Visit system help give them reinforcements. That should have been how it was designed in the first place.
