They don't show dungeon gear in PLLs usually, that was the raid gear that was shown as it had unique weapons. It also had VFX like Abyssos.

The 6.4 site has a preview picture for the Aetherfont with characters wearing gold Deepshadow armor. So yeah, that's likely (99.9%) the dungeon gear. A bit weird to me. I'm not unaccustomed to dungeons rewarding recolors of older armor, but the part that surprises me is that rather than switch from unique to recolor per patch, instead we had two unique sets for the first two dungeons and two recolors for the most recent two dungeons. There isn't any meaningful difference, but I do feel like it might make people more prone to going "ALL THESE RECOLORS" than if you were to go back and forth.
Ah, strange, I must have missed that then. My apologies.
That said as someone obsessed with gold, that... appeals to me.
Yeah, as far as recolors go, it's fine. Hopefully it's dyeable. It makes me wonder what the 6.5 dungeon will have, though. Paglth'an gear was unique but undyeable, which I assume will be the same deal in 6.5. Speaking of which, it's a fairly minor gripe, but at this point they really shouldn't be releasing gear that is undyeable anymore unless there's a real good reason for it.
Between recolor or role swapped, I personally prefer the latter (I relish on getting Manalis' caster coat). Especially when Deepshadow itself is already dyeable.
I just hope they're at least dyeable.
They do it so they can release a dyable version during the leveling cycle for following expansions. That said, we've got some gear that have gotten dyable variants for all but a few pieces... specifically Mhach. I have no idea why they are allergic to releasing a dyable version of the casting/healing set from Weeping City when literally everything from that raid series has been used. I guess its because they're not robe-like enough and so they want to bury that gear's existence as a result of not revisiting that design?
Speaking of Manalis stuff and Fending in EW in general: can they please stop giving us circlets? I'm not against the occasional circlet, but tank this expansion has just felt heavily like circlet city.
I can see the logic in that. Alas, it isn't always the case. Still irked that Shadowless/Ktiseos is undyeable.
At this point, I'd really like to see them go back and make old undyeable stuff dyeable too. Not sure about the why on it not being the case, though.
IMo it doesn't really fix anything though. Static groups will still want 8 clears so everyone in the group can get one chest coffer and one weapon coffer, but then that now leaves us with 2 extra books to do nothing with.
So the choices are:
1) Do 8 clears so everyone gets one chest coffer, one weapon coffer and enough books to get whatever they want with BUT then have 2 leftover books for nothing.
2) Do just 6 clears, but then two people are left out.
Still no update to housing. Sad times.
We back to pretending doing the bare minimum every non .0 patch is something great again?
It's made lots of difference over the years. You may not be able to see it, joining as late as you seem to have. The game in 2013-2016 was very different in terms of qol.
People also only tend to remember negative changes not positive ones.
Most people don't remember that food buffs wore off when you died. You used to have to wait for CDs to come back up after wiping. Prog was delayed so much if the PLD used hallowed ground just before a party wipe and they needed that skill in their rotation early on.
Beast tribe currencies used to be in your inventory. Gear used to drop directly from savage bosses, not coffers, and there were no tokens. You just had to keep praying the pieces you needed would eventually drop.
How does one cancel you? What does one have to do to cancel you? Maybe you were told to shut up and stop complaining before. Maybe you were told to unsub. Yet here you are, still free to dump SE in whatever way you see fit. Still free to label people as religious zealot cult.
Please tell me. I really want to claim such a power.
Buff timer?
Damage type on flying text?
Datacenter Travel?
Weapon drops turned into weapon Coffer?
Server travel on character selection screen?
Male Viera and upcoming Female Hrothgar?
more precise quest marker on maps and minimap?
Increased Triple Triad drop chance when duel with NPCs?
Fisher's Intuition stays even when disconnected?
Return of FFXV, Garo collab?
I'm not really sure what people were expecting... look at patch 5.4. It was:
- new MSQ
- new side story
- new raid tier
- new crafted DoW/M gear
- new tomestones
- new/modified treasure map dungeon
- new triple triad cards
Anyone that has been playing this game since pre-EW and definitely pre-ShB should be aware that patch cycles are very much formulaic. And if someone was expecting something else, then they probably aren't aware that this game has been like this since 2013.
OkayQuote:
, I only wish I had spoken up more when we lost more and more dungeons and now we've seen beast tribes pushed to the .5 patch when they previously launched at the .0 one.
Burn cream, STAT.Quote:
You didn't speak up at all. Those changes started in 2015. You didn't join the forums until 6 years later lol.
The thing that irks me about the live letter his that we get told to literally go play other games. I'm sorry, but we pay a sub fee, and you send your developers to go work on other projects, instead of the MMO we pay a sub fee for and expect us to be happy that you've given us a mediocre patch, so that we can "Go play duh zelda, or FFXVI". If this were any other director people would be furious.
Take a 3rd Option, clear it another 4 times so everybody has the achievement and there are no more books in your inventory.
The guy literally says "It's okay to take a break and go play other games, all the stuff will be here when you get back," and you people get outraged because he's telling us that you don't have to live in the game. It's hilarious tbh, absolutely hilarious.
Speaking of cream and burning...I've a story.
So about...18 years ago? Give or take 2 years...My ex and I got into a bad rear end accident. It kinda screwed up her back that standing for long periods would make her back hurt. To help her with the issue I would massage Cortizone cream on her back if she had a bad day or if just needed it.
Well one time after I apparently did not wash my hands enough because after I went to the bathroom...things got...uncomfortable. Then it got hot. Then it was like I was on fire.
Fun times.
How dare we expect that our major patches have more than 2 hours worth of content. Just who do we think we are?!
In other words, the content that actually kept me subbed that patch. I was initially upset that we were getting just DR instead of a new zone but the rewards and the different ways you could approach the raid with Lost Actions made it a fun grind for my Law's Order sets.
Meanwhile in Endwalker there exists no such equivalent when it comes to those armor sets, nor for the Bozjan ones.
I guess I was supposed to do Island Sanctuary for the 365th beach glam they've produced instead?
Endwalker should have simply been named "Play Other Games" the expansion. We've been hearing this since the start of the content lull becoming an obvious issue, mostly from people who are either so new that they don't see the issue themselves (yet) or from individuals whose definition of playing the game means idling in Limsa or a venue.
But hey if even the people in charge are more captivated by other games like TOTK, how can I blame them? It certainly has more going for it than XIV does these days. So if that's the kind of energy being put out into the world, all one can do at this point is follow it to its logical conclusion. The passion is gone from here and moved on elsewhere.
I only hope that XVI made good use of all the attention that FFXIV was clearly deprived of.
They'll add outdoor furnishings to our Islands so the one or two people we know will come and sit around for a whole 5 minutes until they get bored, because the islands will still essentially all look IDENTICAL
This seems to be how the logic works, regrettably. For better or worse, humanity as a whole recalls negatives and atrocities with far increasing regularity than saints and revelations of great benevolence.
This is honestly embarrassingly petty for one who often counsels wisdom and patience.

Given this from someone who seems to have severe reading limitations, cannot find what they claims doesnt exist, despite it being a their fingertips via a basic search, not listening.Quote:

The onus is on the claimant to provide citation of one's claims, Sir VelKallor. Your insinuations do you precious little credit. I am under no obligation to search a gamut of old threads to find a reason to villainize another. Judging a poster's worth based entirely upon the current things they have to say if perfectly valid and enough for the likes of me.
