When they changed to the lottery, it did take a few times but eventually we landed a small, and were able to use it for multiple things including birthday parties for members.
BUT, I've also been trying for a Med or Large for a personal (I want to make a museum space) for most of that time, and nope. The zone where I have a small rarely even has smalls come open at this point, and with Demo being turned off for so many MONTHS now, nothing really comes available. We very much need more housing on existing worlds where wards are full, but also, again, I think we need a new type of neighborhood in which you buy a large-sized plot (where *all* the plots are large), then can *pick* the size of house you put on it. Them just adding more wards with only 3 larges and 3 mediums means those go quick, and then (like on Dynamis) the smalls stand empty for a long time.
Yes, doing a new neighborhood design IS a lot of work... but IMO the changes would pay off for SE and fix a lot of the problems, and they could limit it to 20 houses per neighborhood to cut back on how much data each one would require, and just do more of them to make up numbers.
Don't get me wrong: I appreciate the Demo-pausing for RL disasters, but SE lets the pause run for way too long---months? But Demo is a small band-aid for a big problem, IMO.
