I liked DH too, but it's still easy, and not really a great design for a dungeon.

Your whining is priceless...FOR A GOOD LAUGH.
Time your stuns perfectly.
Don't run out of MP.
Use your 2hrs in dire situations.
Lose exp if you mess up.
^Things we don't need to worry about in XIV that made it challenging. Not saying that XIV doesn't make up for them (or that they would solve anything in XIV), but XI wasn't as spank-and-tank as you make it seem.
Some bosses began to resist stun more and more over time.
Not everyone played in the easymode that was post-abyssea XI.Quote:
Primeval Brew.
And seriously even if you are correct that XI was too easy, what's with the "XI was bad, XIV should be just as bad!" mentality?
The thing is with XI You could use the same strat on 90% of the bosses in the game Which was Tank and spank. I know this is fact cause i tanked damn near every boss in XI cause i had that Aegis. Only a few boss fights come to mind where you had to do some slightly different stuff even then it was still mostly tank and spank.
Most of the time ppl fail boss fights on new mobs in xi is cause of mobs like Cerb who used Gates of Hades @ 50% and no one was expecting that. Then after ppl learned to stun it fight was a walk in the park.
Also @ this comment I'm starting to call bs on the lag thing killing ppl 90% of the time , I have done this fight from ppl all over and when they fuck up they always blame lag cause its the easy way out. Countless times have i seen ppl using an ws or casting a spell, and then get blown up by eruption then immediately say it was lags fault. In fact the first time i ever got an 12 win streak on Ifrit was with an EU group who asked me to join cause i was afkish @ ifrit, and most of the time we had 0 deaths in the fight.
I'm not gonna say the lag isn't there, but it isn't stopping anyone from dodging eruptions.
No but really, I love how you're just like
HEY GUYS
GUYS
DON'T THINK I'M CRAZY HERE
BUT, NOW BEAR WITH ME HERE
I'M STARTING TO THINK THAT MAYBE
JUST MAYBE
PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO USE THE FIRE @ IFRIT AS AN EXCUSE FOR DYING
You're so cute and oblivious.
I can't say what happened after abyssea because I quit pretty soon after, but since you're flaunting Primeval Brew like it changes anything I said, I'm guessing you only played after they made easymode.
You could zerg many fights, but not without a lot of manpower, BRD rotations, out-of-alliance cures, and good gear--none of which are needed for XIV. And you could not zerg everything in XI. Sorry.
A possible solution would have the mob adapt. You do one thing too often enough and it will adapt to it making you have to improve or tweak your strat. It's just a guess, because if a strat is the same every time it will go down easy, if it is different, then not so much.
Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.
FFXI had some fights that were difficult and interesting... until people realized they could be zerged. then the entire game became a joke.
i remember getting server first Bahamut V.2 after hours and hours and hours and days and hours of farming and wipes. i remember how amazing it felt to finally get the strategy down and execute for the kill. i remember how boss i felt getting the second bahamut's mask on the server (behind our LS leader). i remember how elite we felt having it on farm for weeks before other linkshells started to catch up.
and then i remember feeling completely crestfallen when the zerg strat came out and suddenly every single LS on the server that wasn't *completely* awful could fly through it without having ever experienced the difficulty or strategy we did. and i felt robbed and dirty and disgusted.
and pretty much every other 'challenging' fight followed suit.
anyway, the point of this post is- we haven't even seen anything as difficult as bahamut V.2 in this game yet (and certainly not anything even REMOTELY CLOSE to as difficult as SSC/TK/BT or ulduar hard modes), and it's tough to feel sad about people stacking classes and zerging ifrit/moogle when they were never hard and never required much strategy in the first place.
if this continues, and if square continues to give everyone content *except* for the hardcore players who are desperate for a real challenge- 2.0 will fail, period.
I would agree that making boss encounters more random would definitely help in making them more difficult I'm all for that.
We are getting hard mode content in 2.0 aren't' we which should give elite players the content they have been craving for.
Hopefully SE will work with players through the test servers when they get them running to fine tune content.
cool story for those people. they can keep their ifrit and moogle for all i care. but not having SOME kind of content which is ACTUALLY DIFFICULT for people who aren't awful at the game would be nice, too. since, you know... we have nothing of the sort.
lol this is funny for so many reasons i won't even begin to get into
oh, you know. something that takes even the best guilds in the world more than a day or two to figure out. something that takes the best guilds in the world weeks, even months to finish. something like Sunwell (twins anyone?), or certain ulduar hard modes (here's looking at you Alone in the Darkness yogg 25)
now, i don't expect something that hard in *this* version of the game. but 2.0 needs it. *needs* it. but until then it would be nice if we could at least get something like dynamis/limbus. give us something at least comparable to proto-ultima in difficulty (which was lawler easy anyway, but still harder than batraal or moogle or ifrit)
are we cereal getting more shit like this? :( the current drop system is in place in order to draw out content. come on people, you knew this! i understand people have to qq and whine but lets at least make them intelligent squeals for attention! but really though, we know the game is in an elongated beta once again-it basically hasn't even begun.
personally i like the ifrit fight better than moogle (if i'm on arc), any other dd makes moogle pretty fun and rage inducing when you miss them combos! moogle is so monotonous and stale on arc.
go into darkhold with 3 and you'll also have a great time.
i really like stufoo's post; yeah, i read that.
all of your insatiable needs will soon be sated...and by soon i mean in a year!
I been playing XI since 2004. Look you are wrong once, and you're wrong again. Not once I said you can zerg everything, but you can for most endgame content. Secondly, you either have a weak LS or missing the underlined parts I provided for you. Thirdly I wont comment on speculations again.
Once again I never said XIV should be the same like XI.
SE needs to get ride of these one job partys for kills, they need to make a stragty base content vs tp/mp burn on everything in the game, they fix mrd's spam but now we thm which will probly be all BLM after 1.21.Quote:
Yeah, he can go down super quick if you have a bunch of ARC with this.
They aren't going to put alot of effort into a version of FFXIV that for all intents and purposes, is dead in the water. Wait till 2.0 (tm) or an expansion.
Most of those fights in FFXI had the same tedious drop rate, if not worse. Big difference was that you actually wanted the loot so you kept going. Here in FFXIV most loot drops you could care less about.
Just like everything else the more you do the fight the more efficient/easier it becomes. Challenge is pretty much only there for the learning curve, after that it's farmville. The only real test is how bad/good your learning curve is until it gets to that point.
This game needs some form of tiered progression vs. just doing 1 boss fight for questionable upgrades. Till then it's a snoozefest.
SE not fix the content just for ARC party , Players do.
Players are the one who fix the job in party ,
They're the one who judge on another players.
Their is a prove that not only ARC party can defeat moogle.
I believe there're many thread about pgl party can also defeat moogle.
Still , Players themselves always choose the easiest way to do things.
It's not fair to compare it that way.
Byakko requires you to farm pop items that is way more annoying and on timer while fighting with the whole server, of course they need to make the drop rate higher and more stuff to provides for everyone that helps out on farming the pop item.
You can solo tapers/keystones easily. at least 10-15 primals/hour pop solo.
Yet you can go 30 kills w/o a single item on ifrit, don't matter how you get the items to pop them the whole point is at the end of the day more ppl went home happy in xi compared to the dumb ass loot system we have now. I killed ifrit over 100 times I have 5 thm weps and a bow to show for my hard work :)
Gath's 1 gil may be worth more than your 1 gil but it still cant buy an Ifrit wpn
WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BUMP THIS?
