Use some of Tiggy's abilities and I'd get back into fishing again, I went out of it since I can make more money with half a leveled gatherer (minus demateria lol).. went out of it since it takes triple the amount of inventory, went out because its too RNG. I liked fishing, I want to like FFXIV's 2.0 because as I said I really like the idea of fishing logs, weights, and legendary fish- thats awesome. But I'm not a big gambler, I'd prefer to use 1.0's system with 2.0's current lack of gui lag and new shiny additions. Or better yet, an improved system we know they are now capable of XD. -

I can't help but complain or feel like I'm betrayed because I'm pretty sure somewhere Yoshi P. said that fishing was always going to be "casual". For those that don't understand, think about this, Bubblesz put in 5 hours in this game with nothing to show. What could you of done in that 5 hours? Now what if you had a family, job, errands, etc.? You can raid for 5 hours, grind atmas, extreme primals, and at least have more to show for it than what MOST people are experiencing with 2.3 fishing. It's bad enough with the small hard coded time windows that you can at least plan around but when you miss most of the heat waves for example by just popping into the zone too late and then running across the zone it makes the whole class feel like a complete waste of time.

it really makes no difference, if you have 349 or 393 gathering, you'll lose most of them anyway with absolutely no noticeable difference
I think the most 2.3 fish just have a max catch ratio cap of around 20-30%, which can be easily hit
the only purpose of having the supra rod is to be able to hit the most caps without having to use food + guildbuff
thats atleast what i think after losing most of the 2.3 fish with 393 gathering (which is the highest possible amount ig right now) -

Thanks for coming to my aide. Regardless of that being a joke, Lien's point is still very valid. Fishing for me was never about what you can get from the fish (besides Gil because who doesn't need it) it was about finding the fish, learning how to catch it, and maybe break a record along the way. I loved the while aspect of it at the beginning and during 2.2 race to find the big fish I was having fun.
Fishing has had the fun sucked right out of it. I feel like we are here to just supply skimpy vanity swimwear to girl players and guys that like to oogle their female hyur or cat girl. -

It has always been another thing to do for the completionist in me, but it was never really fun because there's no interaction and too much of it is luck based. I'm usually reading stuff online while I fish. -

Can't tell how much anime I've finished on Hulu while fishing. It's is what it is but there's definitely been a change towards a bad direction in my eyes.
But this is nothing slight changes won't fix like:
-better ways to tell what the weather is in other areas, even with lore I'm sure they can find a way to do this in Eorza.
-Increase the time frame it takes to catch big fish if it actually is two hours of Eorza time.
-Give is an easier way to store our bait in an offhand tool.
-Make GP meaningful and have it help against the RNG.
-Let the records we catch mean something more.
-Fish mounting on a wall of our home? It can be a desynth material.
-Build a better fishing community.
The devs have potential to do something more here and keep a certain playerbase I'm sure (because all player types should matter to them). I just hope one day they hear us. -

Caught 6 new 2.3 patch big fish today so my spirits are pretty high. This brings me up to 10 2.3 fish and this is without the supra, not letting my perception pass 300, and keeping my gathering around 361-379. I still have a few misses but so far I've caught as many as I've missed.. almost.
