Ahhhh... Reminds me of my first Relic... I can´t say how many times we run against a wall called Titan HARDMODE....
29 Attempts? That was our "warming up" phase... just saying, if you don´t like Garuda EX, you won´t like what´s coming up ^^

I cleared that when my scholar was item level 80 with only around 3200 hp. It wasn't even hard...we wiped a couple times, but didn't even come close to the time limit expiring.
Sorry you had bad luck with it, but you definitely don't need 4300 hp.
Ran Howling Eye EX and Whorleater EX several times with PUGs and I have yet to get a clear. Not to say that it doesn't happen. Key people don't know what to do, get KO'd and the inevitable Raise or Resurrection. This includes minimal health, MP and TP; so in these fights, it can be a pain. The mechanics, if learned, can be mastered relatively quickly and easily. I think there are people who watch Mr Happy or MTQcapture (Ms Tech?) but they don't really think about their own roles within the fight. For example, Ms Tech typically tanks while Mr Happy usually uses his Bard. These perspectives can skew how the listener understands the material. I know that when it came to tanking Whorleater, I was missing a key to making the healers' jobs easier. As a healer, I would know to switch tanks periodically but exactly when is still kind of in question. Ms. Tech does a good job of zooming in and explaining where to look and how to react. Mr Happy's voice is a little easier on the ears, and he doesn't feel the need to add odd music. Mr Happy blocks the chat window, so some telegraph cues can be missed. There's good and bad in both.
Point is that in the extreme battles, everyone is important. I think too many people get carried in HM and lower. They never take the time to really know their own cool downs or abilities. Heck, I was running Coil before I really took the time to learn my bard. No one had ever asked me to use Army's Paeon or Mage's Ballad, and I had never put Blunt Arrow to its intended use. I'm sure that I was one of many. As I cared more about my role in the team, I took a proactive (rather than reactive) approach to my actions. Whether I'm popping off a song to help my teammates or casting Medica II so that it actually casts at a precise time, I try to think about what's going to happen instead of reacting to what just happened.
If people don't take the time to do these things, that's when things go to heck. You're not carrying the 2nd tank through an extreme battle, regardless of your individual iLVL.
Then there's the helpful, "Stop F-ing up!" shout in chat. "Do your job!" Ah, I wondered what I was doing wrong. Thank you for that. Now we're all a better team and we bow to your awesomeness. I don't understand why so many people who have this attitude don't take the time before the fight to go over some of the mechanics. "Did you watch a video? OK, let's go." Really? If the screen is telling you that someone is still new, why do you assume that they got everything they need from the video? Then the inevitable wipe and "Do your f-n job!" Aw, the video didn't tell me to do my f-n job. That must be what I missed, does anyone have a notepad?
Was bored yesterdaya nd no hunts ere up, daily bonus were burnt, and I finished my hunting log. Saw a Garuda EX in PF, joined. Never beat it untill yesterday. We used teh Suparna strat and everything went well after a few wipes of us getting used to eachother.
It's possible.
Same problem I'm having.
Been there 7 times in the last two days. I'm always the OT, the problem isn't that new people can't learn it (and every group has multiple new people in it) the problem is that after the second wipe, someone insults the tanks and leaves. Then we wait 20 minutes for a replacement and have nothing. Then everyone else ends up leaving.
The problem is people who are so impatient they can't wipe more than three times without crying that its too hard. They don't even stick around long enough for the echo to make much of a difference.
I see your point here. I think what happens is people tend to forget that these fights are "scripted". Once you get to her "big" move and you split for tornados, it's basically a rinse and repeat till you down her. I find that using that Suparna strat was the easiest I have come across(in tornado phase, focus suparna down then burn Garuda). Once it's time for her to jump, pop dat spiney and get in, and do it all over again.
There are those that are "silly" though and just leave if the party happens to wipe, but, who needs em anyway!

After about a week and 60+ wipes (maybe not that many, but it sure felt like it) I was able to clear Garuda EX in DF. The stars aligned and I lucked out and got a very patient group, we wipe'd many times but everyone was patient and didn't do any fingerpointing - and lo and behold we completed it. I think patience is the key, like someone posted earlier, a group wipes 3 or 4 times and suddenly the finger pointing starts happening, which leads to bad morale and inevitably more failures.
Right now I'm having awful luck in Titan EX DF. I haven't even gotten to the heart phase and I been running it for about a week now, but groups definitely lose patience with Titan, so many times 3 or 4 wipes tanks usually the first to rage-quit. I pretty much lost all hope of ever clearing Titan EX tbh, it's just to .. well.. extreme. lol. I can't get far enough into the fight to even really learn it, I just wipe constantly in the same spot (where he drops the stone bombs) It's disappointing to feel like some of the content is "gated" behind these fights, but thats just the way it is.
People using the 1st method is the reason I no longer do Garuda pugs ever. It's especially mind-boggling when people want to use that method and we have 2+ melee in the group - It's almost like they want us to wipe.
If you're a melee, learn and then insist upon triangle method, rejoice in how much easier Garuda Ex just got.
I remember when we did Garuda EX with about 90is Gear...
Big help is to slow the Add, so the Two Wicked Wheels don´t hit the same time, and Tanks being healed in between...
I only did the EX-Triple once for the Quest, still having this Rowena Marks in Inventory... i90 weapons became obsolete... and I never did it again.
Did a "all EX" Run last week, und as i did it maybe back in 2.2 times (no idea, when came levi ex? before that)... I absolutely had NO IDEA what to do, thus okay, wiping once or twice on titan, ... but afterwards i tought "hey, this was supposed to be hard some day"...
By i90 Gear thrown at you and i100 basically buyable since long time, people hit 50 and have good gear at hand nearly immedeatly.
but skill is still not handed out for free...
Raise ilv or fix, is out of the equation in any content. I saw a group of ilv 100 with max echo still die hard in Garuda Ex. Ilv is not the matter, the fight mechanic is not the problem, the skill to learn, comprehend, follow instructions, on other hand are the KEYS...
its been over 5days... 4hrs a day and thats all i have been doing. and still can not get through this one with a grp that will stay to get it done. NO ONE wants to do this one. most bail after first wipe and dont want to learn how to do it.
i have this on my quest line to do... and the game is not fun anymore if this is all i do all day every day.
either needs to be fixed or taken off quest line so people can enjoy the game !!!!
Transfering from a JP server to a NA one things like this were a shock for me, shortly after these all came out you could DF these on a JP server and get 1-2 shot win 95% of the time. It seems the JP use PF for practice groups and DF four quick wins, here it is just sad what happens in DF. I used to love just being able to check them all off in DF and run the fights for quick wins, made the game more fun for me and it was something I could do when bored. Now that I am on a NA server it seems so useless to run these, long que times and a horrible experiance 95% of the time.
"The problem is usually terrible dps, the majority of people can't play their jobs to anywhere near their potential." personally I dont think it is just the DPS, so many ppl that complain in here and in DF have no idea how to play their job anywhere near its potential, and rather than learn they come on here to whine, after they spent their time whining in game about others.
I used to wonder why the JP were so stuck on JP onry and no forigners, now that I play on a NA server I completely understand.
The JP method for this fight IMO was/ is far more efficent.
Except there's no main scenario attached to ex primals.
Also, if you can't get past this, which is one of the easiest fights in the game after a little bit of practice, then you're just going to come here and complain about the next fight even more. Plenty of people have cleared everything, so the problem isn't with the content.
Impossible for it to be more efficient. MT is left doing nothing since Garuda won't take damage, so you're missing out on the damage output from MT. Easier, so that tank doesn't have to use cooldowns for Wicked Wheel, and easier so melee don't have to pay attention? Sure. But not more efficient.
the speed at which Suparna is melt down without even the chance to use WW tends to prove the contrary. Sure you miss the dps of the MT on Suparna (which equals maybe 1-2 GCD of the DPSs' burst maybe) but you improve by a fair margin survivability and ease of the process.
Not even considering this method allows to completely ignore Chirada thus saving time. Burn Suparna down, kill Garuda. Fastest way to do it (requires the HP to survive the extra damage by Chirada even with spiny)
You can ignore Chirada anyway with just using 2 tanks and not triangle. Also the DPS required to do that is typically beyond most parties, because they are bad. My MT damage output is also greater than the majority of PF DPS, again because they are bad and only doing 30~60% of what they should be doing.
The fastest way to do it is to not even see the 2nd set of sisters and kill it before you even need to use the first spiny plume. This, of course, requires DPS who are good.
Five weeks. I've been doing this godforsaken fight 3-4 attempts almost everyday for five weeks.
Raise ilevel requirment to 200, and don't allow people to queue for it until the next expansion. This is the only way a crappy DF pug will ever beat this.
did garuda with my sch alt and killed it with the first duty finder group
it was a horrible experience, ilvl 100-110 dds, 25% echo. the spiny exploded 2 or 3 times, they were never able to kill both adds and the kill attempt took us 16 minutes with god knows how many rounds in the last phase :'D
After healing this nael feels like nothing x)
would have been impossible without echo tho
I have cleared Garuda Ex *so* many times, helping my FC mates etc, and now I want to farm it for a ring - no dice. I just can't find a PF/DF group capable. It normally falls down on the OT for me; they can't grab Chirada and she bounces between healers and DPS then Wicked Wheels us all :( I truly hate this fight now.
Chirada doesn't use Wicked Wheel. That's what allows Triangle strategy to work.
Or get people complaining it can't be done with the current group after one or two wipes, vote abandon and usually that ends the trial.
Had that the other day, but rest of group wouldn't go along with the vote to abandon. Three wipes later, with each subsequent wipe getting closer to a clear. We cleared it!
Impatience, pessimism and defeatism really need to be checked at the door before entering a EX.
Long story short, DF pugs is horrible of all fights, no matter what is the Ilv, echo, etc.... PF is the only way to go or turn to your mates for help, if you don't want to bang your head against a dead-wall...
