I fucking LOVE this!!! its perfect
well actually .. yes.. yes it does. its not about being elite... its about knowing how to play the game.. they need a lot more in depth progression in the job line that will not allow you to go past a certain level without knowing all of the skills and a test of those skills up to a certain level. it would stop a bunch of people from rage quitting.. which is caused by people not knowing their jobs. and ultimately stop a ton of bitching on the forums
I had a first timer in Duty Roulette doing Satasha with me. He was a CNJ. He couldn't keep up with the healing on the final boss and called me out saying I couldn't tank (I am on my Hayley character, and was a GLA19 at the time). I told him to keep on the healing as I've been playing since 1.0 and I know the current mechanics. The MNK50 (with Relic) in the group started LOLing at him because the CNJ was a first timer, when I was tanking the actual boss and all the adds kept coming up and the CNJ didn't know how to stop them...
I can barely do anything but laugh at this. Trying to control human behavior is like trying to stop an incoming tsunami. You might look bad-ass for a moment but once that moment passes you still look stupid like the rest of the idiots scattered across the ground. You won't change anyone, anything, anyhow, by complaining how your "time" was wasted. People will act how they wish to act regardless of how anyone pisses, moans, and groans. A dead horse is still dead no matter how many times you beat it.
Lol so pressing 1,2,3 and slightly trying is being elite? I don't expect people to go all out trying to reach their maximum potential dps or some bullshit like that. But to sit there spamming the same skill over and over again and to not move out of AoE's because that's their definition of "fun". Yeah that's not fun, that's just laziness, means everyone else has to try even harder just because one person wants to have "fun".
I'm all for that person if hes doing DF for story etc w/e, I'm glad to help. But please don't say that slightly trying = trying to be elite? Like are you fcking serious? Lol ok.
And by the logic of a lot of people in this thread " brb let me fap, eat cheetos, auto attack and maybe only physik as a summoner" because it's fun and it's MY money so everyone else can just suk a huge hairy one?
AMIRITE or AMIRITE
Like I said before, if a player is legitimately trying in a dungeon whether it's for their daily for story etc. That is fine. But "trying". does NOT equal being elite.
lol he sounds like an amazing man.
I used to be a lot more outgoing when it came to helping people out with these issues, but lately (more often than not) I just keep running into the "don't tell me what to do" knuckleheads who think they're the best at what they do when even the least astute observations say otherwise. Heaven forbid you should try to even hint at their problem or give constructive advise because they will flip shit even when worded politely and subtly presented. Ask people to do something for themselves and they act like they're doing you a favor. Maybe I'm just unfortunate with this but frankly it has gotten to the point I can't even be bothered with it anymore.
Honestly if people could just take responsibility for themselves and find the 10-15 minutes to read up on their job and ask some questions here and there this issue wouldn't be a problem to begin with. As to the why, it could be due to laziness, incompetence, self-centered indifference, or possibly a mixture of the aforementioned. Your guess is as good as mine.
If human history tells us one thing it is that we are not above anyone. Your standards should never be imposed upon anyone else no matter what you think of them. It is arrogant and ignorant to think that in a random chance encounter (DF) that people should conform to you.
People learn in different ways, at different times, and most of all, they learn better by experience than by being told what to do. Let them experience dying for pulling mobs before the tank does even if you tell them. Let it sink in without you wasting your time typing. Growth by experience is better than growth by forceful talk.
If the forum administrators/moderators are reading this. Please consider making a ban against Duty Finder complaint threads. It poisons the game, and poison is the last thing this game needs.
An atmosphere of hatred towards each other isn't the way to solve things.
What I would like to see is suggestions for DF options. Solutions are better than complaints.
Can't wait for duty roulette as a party. Gone are the days we have to put up with people who don't know anything about their class.
i ran pharos sirus the other day for my high dragoon decided wanted to aggro all the mobs so i turned off defiance and let him tank. after he died i told him let me lead since im the tank so after that he didnt aggro all the mobs lol
Short answer yes.
Long answer is still yes. To you, me, and anyone else doing decent a rotation is appealing because of min-max damage gets the job done. To others the rotation aren't appealing since otherwise they would be using it. Unless you ask them why they hate doing a rotation you wont know. Maybe it is stale and boring or maybe they are just sticking it to the man...ask them and find out instead of acting like some dictator.
Because they are having a blast being drunk and all, does not mean I'm having a blast when I need to work harder. They should form their own party if they decide to troll around.
If your definition of "fun" equates to players having a blast while you and your friends troll around in your underwear, well you know what comes next...
We don't feel special. The OP said that it is in no way fun when people do stuff that slows down the process and after trying to communicate, they either stay silent or give you the "I pay, I play how I want" stuff <--- I have yet to see you comment on this part of the OP rather than pushing your opinion through.
I'm not mad, I like to use the forum for discussion which is it meant for. If you can't take it, I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings. xD
You don't have to try and justify yourself to me. Justify yourself to none other than yourself.
If you really mean you don't feel special then do what any normal person would do and form a party. There's no point in getting mad at me because you go and hit yourself with a hammer I ain't gonna make your pain go away. In fact I'll most likely than not laugh at you.
It's funny how most posts such as your quote tries to throw people who "isn't playing like everyone else" in the most extreme examples known to man, far passing the point of backing an argument for just plain humiliation.
I've never ran into these players who would literally burn through their mp like an idiot, deliberately attack add-ons, and just do everything within their power to not make a run successful.
I suspect most of the people here are just salty they had to experience first hand how cruel the community can be and only want to spread the madness through newblood.
You know what annoys me more than bad players??? The "GREAT" players(most of the time i90 or higher) that queue up for drlow and then quit on joining the same old instance. Newbies and bad players have potential to improve - those don't. If I have time to monitor what they are doing I will suggest improvements to newbies and bad players. Some will improve some won't. Nothing I can do that. But I always do it in a polite way and I stick with them(I've had gladiators and marauders in bray nm and in titan nm - along with other classes - and that's fun to explain to people to get their job crystals - but I recall I was similar to that myself at one point). I have seen players improve from the start of the run to the end of it from taking advice on board.
But I must say I had very few bad experiences in dungeons. The first place I tend to notice bad rotations is in primals really.
I'm sure that all the groups, orders, and professions in the world who've legitimately earned the right to be called "elite" appreciate being equated to someone of middling competence.
I really don't know what else to say to your idea that expecting people to at least be aware that there *is* a rotation and maybe have an idea of the order of that rotation means I want them to be elite players.
Gormogon is just a troll. He comes in and speaks his opinion which is fine, but he comes after every dissenting post and reasserts his opinion again like we didn't hear him the first 10 times. He will do this forever until he gets the last word or people start ignoring him.
It has nothing to do with being elite, and most of us know that. To Gormogon expecting literally anything at all from other players is expecting too much.
Gormogon, we do get what you are saying. We just think you're flat out wrong. Find some way to come to terms with the fact people here disagree with you, will continue to disagree with you, and never will agree with you.

I think it is gonna be implemented in 2.28 which is just a couple of days away.
As for your playing with badies remark. There was a solution to that in every other aspect since forever outside of CT and Duty Roulettes.Quote:
Duty - Roulettes
Expert Roulettes and High-Level Roulettes will be open to be undertaken as a Party.
I think he might've actually put everyone who disagreed with him on his ignore list.
It's only a matter of time before the whole forums end up on that list. Of that I'm sure.
I'm just in low level roulette's still. However I'm starting to think that the people that spam one skill and don't listen to anything aren't actually people, but bots. It doesn't make sense for them to be people and I'm starting to think this game has a severe botting problem.
Maybe they just needed a little friendly advice. When I first got to 50 as a MNK I was pretty clueless about what a good rotation looked like until I got some tips from a friend.
That's the thing Ryuukishi: you got some tips from a friend. You were eager to learn to better yourself. In PUGs, would you have listened if it was proposed to you politely?
This is where the thin line stands.
Most of us are ready to help anyone, provided they are open as well to it.
Sadly, the few peeps on forums != the actual players..
The problem with allowing bad players to be bad players is that they lose the core concept of FFXIV ARR - Job/Party system.
This game is first and foremost a party based system that is compiled of 3 job types; DPS, Tank & Healer.
If you are bad at your job in a FATE or Solo Instance, that is fine.
If you are bad at your job in a dungeon, that is not fine.
It is not fine to fuck up the experience of the other 3 players that have spent money on this game because you are "having a blast".
Rather get your buddies together and have a blast together so no one is bothered by your inability to understand that your actions have a direct impact on the enjoyment of the 3 players that rely on you.
It's 4 roles not 3.
As far as I'm concerned you can 3 man expert dungeons so all the whining about that 4th player being bad is pretty much moot.
I know people like you hate having a bad experience but you set yourself up for it when you solo queue. A "concept" that isn't new to MMO's.
This may be the single dumbest post I've read on these forums, and that is saying quite a bit. Expecting, at the least, a minimum amount of competency should be the norm in any cooperative group effort. Otherwise, you just set yourself and your group up for failure, but you don't seem to mind that for some reason.
Show me a Screenshot of how to queue up as a Bard on a "Support" Class... i am interested in that symbol, or is it exclusive to you?
Wait, i made one with epic Paint Skills.. ( rofl ), does it look like this?
Watch all the baddies cry on the forum when everyone decides to preform parties when 2.28 hits and no one wants to play with their scrub asses.
lol.........
First you say BRD is a "Support" in the PT-System, now it is a "Healer". May you want to make up your mind? Or even better, what about playing BRD actually, to learn under which Class you fall in the PT-System? The PT-System has THREE Roles since Release and maybe sometimes in the future, that will change. But that "sometimes" is not now.
