No, my issue is simply this, you suggested giving ESUNA to scholar, given your use of words that is all someone who read it carefully would be lead to believe ("Esuna, something which could easily have been given to Scholar in the same manner as Cleric Stance"). Cleric stance was just GIVEN to you guys (not altered or changed in any way to fit the class, like your "suggestions" would lead one to believe) for no real reason, you're support healers/support dps, nothing more. Stop trying to encroach on the "main healer" aspect that white mage has always and should always be. The dev even said it himself "a perfect party would consist of a white mage and a scholar" not one or the other, sure that's an issue now because only 4 man groups, but you're balanced around the fact you're a support, not a main role. Ah yes, the old "Scholar is fine because White Mage isn't" routine... I hope they split these forums into individual Jobs soon, though if XI is anything to go off, that wont solve anything.
I make one comment about giving Scholar Esuna simply to highlight the sheer absurdity of Leeches even being a Job ability, and then focus the majority of my post on ideas to actually make Leeches worthwhile instead, and I get quoted for a rant apparently not even aimed at me. Final Fantasy community forums never change, it seems.
Oh, and Scholar has Cleric Stance for the same reasons White Mage does. Both Jobs are meant to deal some damage as well but their main stat inhibits this, they saw fit to give Scholar Cleric Stance instead of making a new Job ability with the exact same functionality as Cleric Stance, because that's the logical thing to do. If Leeches is just going to be Esuna under a different name (again, most of my post was on improving Leeches instead), then there really is no reason why it shouldn't be treated differently, no reason other than "AHMAHGAWD STOP ASKING FOR WHM STUFF!!1!$!".
Final Fantasy XI killing my tolerance for such people, I'm afraid. I really hope broken pet mechanics doesn't end up as XIVs Modus Veritas (which to my knowledge still hasn't been fixed), and I damn sure hope I don't see people saying it shouldn't be fixed because White Mage sucks. "White Mage sucks" is an argument for White Mage suggestions, not undermining Scholar suggestions.Quote:

At least with Selene you can place/heel her to keep Fey Light/Fey Glow up on the respective group members. Succor does not help when people are already low, yes you can cast one before and one after, but aoe is sometimes unpredictable. In cases where it's predictable, sure, Succor is fine. But when the timing isn't ideal and your raid all gets smacked down to 25% hp the only other tool you have is a LB. This is not going to work on a lot of fights, or rather, it can work but makes things a lot more difficult than it would be for a WHM.Quote:
