But seeing that threads like this exist. The fact that I, my friends and people on this thread have been harassed/kicked out of/cussed at - in Duty Finder and they are complaining about it here proves that this is in fact an issue. Despite the fact that you feel this has been discussed to the ad nauseum does not change that. Perhaps if people stopped being rude in DF then people would stop talking about it. I see no assumption on my behalf, just the fact that there are tons of complaints from players that people are rude within the game. Considering some of the responses on this thread alone, trying to justify why they can be rude, that proves this as well.

Yeah, it can be annoying waiting for people to watch cutscenes when you've ran the dungeon a thousand times over. But if you're using DF, you can't be surprised at having people who are new in your group. Also, even though MMO's aren't known for their renowned stories, it's still a game and people can still be interested and immersed in what's happening.

I asked which one of us was making an assumption but I trusted that you would figure out that I wasn't speaking on behalf of others (silly me.) Only myself. If you had taken a modicum of time to think and realise this, you would of saved yourself a great deal of typing and copy&pasteing. But I do respect the fact that you actually do research. :) Not enough people doing that nowadays.
Back on subject, yes I agree that people are rude (shocking!) the fact that there are sixteen different threads (as your sources show) on this only reinforces my belief that this has been talked about ad nauseum. If after all this time, a universally accepted solution hasn't been created to fix this, it never will. My advice is to dedicate yourself to something more productive than this subject...like digging a car sized tunnel with a toothpick. -

How is this still going? It is rude to kick new players for watching cutscenes, simple as.
You can't complain if you use DF or Roulette for dungeons if someone is watching a cutscene. You will get new players sometimes in those.
You want your roulette bonus as fast as possible you say? Remember, part of the reason roulette was implemented in the first place was so new players would get parties for the older content. Not so you could farm tomes quicker. The tome bonus is your incentive to do older content.
You don't like that, then stick to PF groups. -

No one makes you come here and post, keeping this subject on the front page. Actually, when you responded to me it hadn’t been posted on for days and had fallen pages back in favor for other subject that were being discussed, so why bring it back to the first page if it’s been over discussed?
While you are correct, there is no accepted solution for fixing it, that doesn’t be there won’t be. That doesn’t mean if people speak up enough companies (like SE) might actually stand up and take it seriously. They already have a report harassment option, so that shows they are not blind to the problem. But while there is not accepted solution, just being quiet and accepting that people are rude and believing nothing will change will only do one thing – make sure nothing changes.
As for your suggestion of digging a car sized hole with a toothpick, while it is appreciated I have better use of my time. Helping people to have a better life than I had, than other have had… it’s much more proactive. As Mahatma Gandhi, who I admire greatly, said:

You should be glad there are even still first-timers who want to view the story scenes at all. It means new players are still coming to the game, and the population is still growing -- which is what drives the developers/publisher to create new content and features at a steady rate. Once the population hits its peak, there is nowhere to go but down. Then updates become sparser, more "cash shop" style puchases get pushed at you, and the downward slope of subscribers gains momentum.
In other words, those of you who want to enjoy the benefits of a growing population and frequent content patches are being hypocritical if you begrudge newbies and give them a hard time. You expect these people to somehow gain interest, enjoy the leveling/endgame experience, and learn the mechanics as you did -- but you expect it to happen in someone else's DF queue. -

I understand and know because I have been at the receiving end of such abuses in this game, yet I could give a rat ass about it. You mix up real life and virtual life that alone is a huge problem and this should never happen, this troubles me alot especialyl coming from an educator, you should know that both arent the same.
It is dumb to throw someone out of DF because not good or or or or....but equally you wouldnt want to associate with those people so best that you are not there. SE doesnt give a rat ass about it, so really just move on and end of story.
But please, do not mix up real life and virtual life, those are two different worlds and besides, you cannot control if people are mature enough (I dont speak of age here) to understand that nobody holds control over you especially not in a virtual world, if people cant see the difference it rests with them, abuses happen if entity that controls this game is not willing to do anything to prevent those, then really there is nothing you or me can do other then move on and shrug it off. You are also not responsible for how others react, you can only inform but in no way make a comparison between real life and virtual life in a game more so.
Again please do not mix Real life and virtual life, this is really troublesome
