Leveled summoner just to get machinist. Reach 52 with machinist, zzz. I feel I might as well go back to summoner if casting must be a thing.
With machinist at least u can plan your movement or even have freedom of movement compared to bard.
Move when u have procs. Plan movement withholding procs and when to effectively use ammo.
Bard on the other hand got..... NOTHING other than using faint or switch off wm.
Machinist is designed well around GB no doubt.
Which never procs in time unless you purposely delay your next weaponskill. Machinist requires forecasting and planning with ammo consumption, bard used to require fast reaction to pick up procs or else you'd waste them (which is now rendered moot because WM more or less disallows this). Both jobs also play nearly identical to each other under the effects of GB/WM, except MCH was designed around it so it flows more naturally when it comes to watching for procs and planning ahead.
If you are mixing and doing BiS with AF2 armor, there really isn't that much skill speed. The BiS I made (subject to changed based on accuracy requirements on A3/4 and change again based on information I gather from other's BiS), we get a grossing amount of crit in comparison to determination and skill speed.

So question, do you guys think its worth to get the chest piece first then go to the weapon?
The chest piece is 4 weeks from Alex Normal while the Eso chest piece is 2 weeks.
And it's bis. I'm debating the same thing. Delay the weapon or get eso chest.
And it will solve future accuracy deficiency.
how much dex = 1 WD?
Unless you are in A3S/A4S and killing for accuracy, I would not recommend getting it over a new gun first. If you do the math, the DPS upgrade from the weapon heavily outweighs the stats the body would give you. Get your weapon first.
1 WD = 10.71
1 DEX = 1.00
wep if you can solve acc issues (read: i180 crafted or a1s earrings+a2s belt/feet) for a3s/a4s. need around 630-635 for the frontal portion of a3s, which is likely to be flank req in a4s
if you can't.. still wep. just downgrade accessories for more acc
What I am asking is if you had intent on leveling MCH from the start, why did you not pick a job that benefits from it? Raging Strikes, Blood for Blood, and Invigorate are too good to pass up. If you leveled SMN and decided later you wanted to MCH is one thing. If you started and had MCH in mind from the beginning, you should of played BRD or DRG up to 50.
I liked summoner. I needed one class to reach 50, summoner it was. I don't like melee though if I ever get serious and decide to raid I suppose I'll have to level lancer and such for the cross skills. FF14's system isn't very palatable. Give me Rift's talent tree anytime.
But anyway, yeah, just considering my summoner again. I wanted to try machinist just for the magitech and guns aesthetics despite knowing about Gauss. It has been tried, Gauss sucks the fun out of the class. which is what it boils down to. Not the mechanical howmuchDPScanyoudo, just the fun aspect. Might as well get near infinite resources, strong AoE, self-heals, battle res and etc if casting enters the equation. Machinist burst was nice though, and all the weaving of OGCDs.
i think the answer is to allow slug shot proc to stack 2 times
1.split shot -> split shot -> notice that slug shot proc from 1st split and even if this split also proc it, it not matter since it will stack 2 times-> slug shot -> split -> clean shot or slug depend on proc
if someone agree with this and have good English writing skill, please write the proper recommend for it
Is anyone else here having problems with ACT not parsing their Wildfire?
My ACT is registering it's use, but not it's damage whatsoever.
Hey, y'all! I'm a fresh lvl 60 MCH and had a quick question in regards to Wildfire. Does turret damage contribute to your Wildfire damage? Or is it just your damage skills that add up to the big burst at the end? I'm on the PS4 so I can't parse myself to really test it.
Thanks for the help, and sorry if this question has been asked before!
Hey im currently level 41 mch and wondering whats easy rotation and is there any macro's could help me do decent dps well ?
That's kinda what I suspected. Thanks, Velhart!
I also have a newbie question about rotation I havn't been able to settle from reading the thread and guide.
When it comes down to cooldown rotation, firstly - Wildfire (90 sec) and reload (60 sec) don't line up nicely at all. Should I:
A) Use reload moment it comes back up, delay using wildfire again for 30 seconds after it finishes cooldown
B) Hold reload for 30 seconds until wildfire comes back up.
C) Neither, use both as and when they come up.
Secondly, damage bonus cooldowns in general, after the initial burst do I want to hold back the cooldowns for the next burst, or should I use them as they come off cooldown like most other DPS classes would? - I played DRG for several months and pretty much mastered the class, but DRG's DPS is a sustained model by comparrison, when MCH seems to have much more distinct burst/idle phases. So unsure if the same rules apply to cooldown use.
C) I believe gets you the most DPS over the long run. However you have to think about the fight...if we consider Faust which takes roughly 2:30 you use reload/reassemble as soon as it comes up but should delay the second WF/hawkeye/rapid fire until reload/reassemble is back up.
WIldfire doesn't seem counted if I tried to parse. Is ther anyway for it to appear in ACT? Thanks
Hey all,
I have a few questions as a MCN on Ravana Ex.
I know when he has a red shell, that's when you should be popping your CDs, but when I seem to hold my first burst rotation, I don't seem to get as high as I popped at the beginning.
Here is what I do:
- Pre fight, pop RS, HE, BfB, HC.
- Hotshot > Wildfire > Leadshot
And then Reload into my opener. The reason I pop Wildfire so early on, is so that it will be up as soon as he lands after casting Prelude, which means I can get a full WF pop onto his face (minus RS and HC) as he charges up Liberation.
This gives my WF and all CDs to come off CD for as he lands after Bloody Fuller, where I can do a full CD rotation on his face with RS and HC. So far, I have found this to give me the best DPS possible for me. (I lack the hive weapon, but have mostly Alex gear and Eso stuff, ilvl 185)
Depending on how the fights goes, I end up on 850-900 DPS, maybe a tad more depending on how lucky my crits are and how perfectly I play.
Question is, should I hold my RS and HC for the while he is casting Liberation and gain the full effects of his increased dmg at that stage instead? If I do that, I lose out on a lot of early burst.
What do you do for Ravana Ex?
So what are the rotation that could be easy for me to remember cause been using hot shot > lead shot then just been pressing priority of buttons when i do split shot > slug shot > clean shot ...
Ok I noticed I was having a similar problem when I first started dealing with ravana. The reason is if you wait til ravana pops his red shell to start your opener Wildfire won't go off, because he'll go invincible before the timer runs out on it. The answer I came too is to start popping my CDs and applying fully buffed Lead Shot when Ravana is at 88% health. Assuming your dps is fast enough, you should be applying Wildfire about the same time he begins going into Red Shell, the debuff from Hypercharge should last through most of the starting phase as well. Your second Wildfire burst, aka the weaker one, will be up and ready in time for Warlord Shell. It's up to you weather you want to use it here or not, as Wildfire itself will do about 2k-2.5k damage (at least for me) do to warlord shell making him take 0 damage. After that it will be back up and ready for use just before orbs. And I'm sure you can figure the rest out from there.
