Even though I think this launch has been really terrible and frustrating on the infrastructure side of things.. I have to completely disagree with you about WoW's launch. I literally started and played from day 1 with that game and was level 60 in my first month. Had virtually no problems. Now, every other MMO i've played has had a pretty terrible launch.

come off it people this is all normal the first couple of weeks of a new game is always buggy and full of maintenances give it time and you'll see

But they should have seen this that's what beta's are for see the issues of servers on overload. Elder scrolls online has already did a stress test on their servers and their game content is still being made.

Then you are free to leave this game, and its servers alone. You don't need to be part of our community or forums, and you can go wait with the other people waiting to be separated out by Race and System to be assigned a server for the ESO gameplay.

I like how fanboys make threads such as " IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GO HOME !". Apparently you're completely clueless Aunkah about what's going on in the world of online gaming.We are supposed to be playing in EARLY ACCESS,but we've managed to stay online for like 15-20 hours in total for the past 2 days (20 hours is for the lucky ones), which means we've paid to play the beta. The game is amazing, there's no doubt about that, but the EU company behind it, is apparently unable to handle the servers.How can JP group have only 1 maintainance in the past 2 days,while NA/EU had like 5-6 or more? How is possible to have a "good" connection status with EU servers and an "excellect" with JP ,while im leaving in greece? And please dont tell me about other mmo's and their problems at launch,i've faced terrible launches for the past 11-12 years like this one , but i've faced excellent launches (recently) too like Guild Wars 2 ,and Marvel Heroes.

Especially Marvel Heroes ,rewarded everyone on the game with the real money-in game currency ,for the trouble that they've caused on the first day,which were some simple disconnects..I dont see SE rewarding us with anything ,some extra game time maybe. I cant imagine how terrible the official release will be,and how wasted our monthly fee will go, if the same problems persist..

1) Your internet connection has a better connection to the better-quality Japanese Internet Infrastructure than it does to the American Infrastructure.
2) You are physically closer to said Japanese Data Center than you are to its NA/EU Counterpart in the United States.

Considering the game hasn't officially LAUNCHED for another 25 hours 40 minutes, you've got some gilded fishing tackle there demanding compensation. Early Access is EARLY 'Countdown for ignition', not 'Rockets are Go' stage.

I understand its all a PITA atm, but i'm not gonna whinge and complain.... yet, instead..
I just though Fu(k it. Made a char on Masa, and there i'm staying. All the NA/EU servers are down, all the JP servers get preferential treatment, why the hell not.
We will just be bringing our servers problems there some might say.
I say, let the JP servers know our pain!!

Well i didnt know that we dont have EU servers on EU soil ,like a reasonable man would expect, yet is completely stupid that EU servers face some serious problems , bugs with teleporting to dutys etc etc,while JP run smoothly... And early access aint about rocket science,it's meant to be access in a COMPLETED game ,earlier than most people. And this "thing" is far from completed... I blame the lame beta testing which i was part of ,and every single feedback/complain we've issued was just being ignored as it seems.

No, it is not normal. I hate CoD, but i have never seen it suffer from constant server down times at each launch. MAG had no server downtime at launch. Dark souls, was just fine. DUST514 fine at launch. I can keep going, but my point should be coming across.

This is NOT normal for a game, and it is NOT acceptable just because you've seen it happen in other games. What you are seeing happen, is a the result of not enough time spent with beta testing, and under estimating the player load(though the open beta was WAY to short, the player load there should have been more then enough to give them an idea).

Stop saying this is normal or expected people, because no matter what, it's NEVER acceptable, for any developer with Square's credential's.

The Game is complete. The fact that multiple machines are talking to each other is what creates things called 'Bugs' which pop up when 2 pieces of data butt heads like jocks in high school.

If this game was a Single Player game, it would do just fine, because the way all the controls work, is beautiful. Just because 1.0 failed do not try to put that clunky power-fest onto this game. This game is not 1.0, does not feel like 1.0, does not need 1.0's behemoth-class system to run flawlessly, and certainly is a lot more enjoyable than 1.0.

Whatever,server's up ,so lets enjoy the 1-2 hours we got before the emergency maintainance ! Have fun mate :D

SE botched the early release about as badly as they could have. Every time I was able to play this weekend, I was met with offline servers, servers locked from new characters, or login errors. I wasted hours trying to get online only to play about 30 minutes late last night. As it is for most of you, my time is money... Not only did we pay more for early access, but we allocated time out of out busy lives to play during early access and that time was wasted - lost due to poor planning and management. SE should step up and offer another free month of play time for everyone who paid for early access AND fire all in charge of managing the roll-out and servers. How did they not plan for this? Didn't they bother hiring professionals experienced with MMO roll-outs? Why didn't they stress test the servers during beta? From the perspective of this business executive, this failure is inexcusable and heads should roll...

These types of errors were expected and they have been resolved as we continue to run into them, won't be much longer til all the errors are a thing of the past. If anyone should be in trouble, it should be the people in charge of letting the players know what's going on. It's gotten better, but earlier we'd go for hours before getting any notice at all. But firing them? That's ridiculous. This is prelaunch, early access remember, we're not entitled to 100% guarantees just yet. So SE should give everyone an ENTIRE month FREE for a few days that they didn't have to give us at all. Boy that sure sounds logical from a "business executive perspective." Oh wait, no that sounds idiotic. You'll get your preorder items and you'll be happy with them. Or, you can ragequit and we'll have to deal with one less impatient, self-entitled loser.

You mean "ahead of time" like last Friday or Thurssay when most of the copies of the game were shipped and charged to customers? I don't know how much or often you preorder or from where but majority of online retailers don't charge customers until products are shipped and I also dount they'll pay in full to suppliers / developers in idvance for all preorders either so actually your argument is pretty flawed as well. Indeed - there is some indication of how many people might actually buy the game based on the preorded figures and estimated drop out rates but in no way it means secured money in the bank in advance. This indeed exlcudes DD preorders in case they're changed on order date rather than on (or close prior to) release date but that's fairly rare and even then counts for fairly small part of the whole preorder amount.

I purchased this game today via SE EU Digital Store, never received a code to redeem and play properly. Sent ticket, nothing happened. Tried to get a live chat. Not available in EU. Tried to contact by phone. Not allowed outside UK.

So now what?

I used to stand behind the old "it's an MMO" thing. But I've launched 4 MMOs in the past year and a half and this is by far the worst.

Yes I remember WoWs release. Any company that hasn't learned from that is idiotic.

SWTOR had a great release but wasn't smart enough to have character transfers figured out. This game has a crap release but supposedly does. I don't really know which is better. My guess is retention is going to be on the low side.

I'd be ok with queues. Or minor bugs. But so far it's been game breaking things that I might as well just log off because I can't progress further.my class quest on BOTH of my toons is bugged. It's pretty but nothing amazing. Had they done launch flawless it might have a much better hold in the market but I'm doubtful

And ozzies and some places I've not heard of before, but that's still cool. The JP servers seem to have fewer streakers, so I guess that is good. Oh oh, pro tip for playing with the EU folks - take your top off and run around the zone for a bit after leveling up and yell "LEVVELLL!!!"

I feel bad for the 1.0 players that purchased the preorder just for early access. They atleast deserve some type of compensation. How about a missingno minion?
