What was the point of having all these progressions if they'd be done in 5 hours? Most people are never going to be able to participate now, seems like it was a massive waste of their time to include all these quests and instance stages.
Hopefully for their next exploration they get it right, this seems like there was some kind of miscalculation.
We've been stuck with a looping NPC, who we have named Charles, on Brynhildr (Crystal) who seems to be blocking the mushroom quest. No events have happened in over two hours.
No server seems to be past phase 3 so I don't see the what ppl are complaining about?

First phases must be quick since they give basic fanctions.
Next phase is progressing very slowly so it should take a while.
cant they scale it on each server individually to the population? sure it wouldnt be balanced perfectly on each server but that would surely be better than what we have now wouldnt it?
They should've make it like a quest or like tribes society, players see different things on different progression stage... It can also be community participate and at least people play on later days, they can still "work on the progress"
Not like now, for those who got a job, go watch a video to see what is the original looks like..... I don't know why I should help the loporrits, the whole thing is now just a new zone for leve quest leveling DOH / DOL and gamble

The first two stages were minor changes at best just to get the teleporters running because of the lack of mounts and now it seems like a long grind to stage 4 and potentially beyond
Nobody is missing contributing to progression, you can go contribute to progression right now. The first phases specifically changed almost nothing specifically as they were just setting up groundwork
Are you purposefully being obtuse or just naturally that way.
1) It's almost as if forums are made up of lots of people with different opinions and not a hivemind.
2) Longer form content that is well implemented would not punish people who can't play all day by design. It would have a long content life span and allow those players to join in. So whatever point you're trying to make here is moot.
That's what I'm afraid of yeah. Just because there are vocal players, doesnt mean they should drop it forever.
Does it have flaws? Yeah. Still doesn't mean there aren't people who appreciate this style of content.
Honestly, I dont need a new map to explore for this type of content. They could bring a new system and integrate it all over Eorzea. Continue further and create a community event, where everyone can participate and enjoy. No need for speedruns.
When the community contribution exp is full the stuff upgrades for everyone who is there at the time.
For players who come late be it work, health or new players to the game that finally reach it. They get a quest with an objective to do and finishing it gives them the upgrade on their end.

Sure, why not? If I can push a button to cast a spell or swing a weapon until something dies, I can click to vacuum dust.
At least I would be doing something to trigger a change in the overworld instead of it already being finished before I even did anything.
As a Diadem enjoyer, I find the Cosmic Exploration incredibly tedious (for the most part).
I'm not a fan of the levequest style content. Having to travel to each location to press two buttons to start a 3min timer then two more buttons to collect my reward after running across the small area to three different node spawn locations is frustrating.
If I want to do another levequest I have to click two buttons to figure out if I'm in the right spot or six more (maximum) because they change up order of the list.
I understand they included 'Stellar Sprint' but I would have really liked access to my mounts / flying to make it easier to get from one place to another instead of being land-locked to the 'teleports'.
It really just compounds the tedium of the whole experience.
I will give credit where it's due, I don't so much mind the fates. They're a nice change up to the gathering formula.
Ultimately though, I much prefer the more relaxed nature of 'pick up and go' that the Diadem provides. Just pick a class, pick the direction, go collect and turn in your items whenever you're ready.
I understand it's not for everyone but it's definitely a much more relaxed style of content that I really appreciate.
People are acting like zip lines were the peak of the content and nothing ever will happen after that.
Do they even know that we're only building a base of operations atm?... And cosidering what were told in the intro quest, I won't be surprised if we end up making a new starship.
You know a game hit rock bottom when one-time event contribution is peak content.
The way I see it, the first two stages were meant to go by quickly so that we could unlock hoverboard travel. I’m also confident that we’ll unlock mounts after reaching a certain stage, and eventually even gain the ability to fly around the map.
I’m not sure what’s so sad about missing the first two phases, but I’m pretty sure we’ll get Fetes like those in the Ishgard Restoration, where each activity is repeated. The forums really quick to complain and it gets annoying.

One thing the game should do though is be a lot more transparent about the progression system
After phase 3 finished the bar just sat there empty for a while even though people were doing CE’s, red alerts, relics and ~~not~~ kupo of fortunes. That’s the original reason why people thought phase 3 was it, because nothing moved the bar.
Turns out every few hours (I’m not exactly sure how many) the game tallies up what’s been done recently and if it’s sufficient (which in a server the size of mine like jenova always is) then it fills one progress bar out of (I think) 10 then the cycle silently repeats
It seems like having the bar just be able to progress as things are done rather than arbitrarily go up in opaque blocks and pulls be better to show everyone that progression is still actively happening and you are contributing to it

They showed the phase with much more stuff in PLL and said even that is not the final phase.
Nice job forcing crafting in the gatherer jobs... I don't like crafting, planned to only do the gathering quest, but I guess I won't even do those in the end... I'm really not happy with that choice.
Because people want to experience all of this get built up and not just get driven over to something already completed? They want to participate in these fates and not just hear about them? This was one of the biggest complaints about Ishgard Restoration and we know they were asked about it because they mentioned it in the Live Letter.
This patch launched at 3am PST and most this stuff was done by 7am PST.
That means for the entire west, most players were either asleep or getting ready for work/school, or there. It started in the morning... The only ones this would had been a prime time to play are in Asia/OCE.
I don't see the point of having stages and community events that literally got slept through for most, and occurring only a couple hours apart from eachother. These needed to occur about every 8 hours, since those can account for a lot of shifts or sleep, and giving the stages time to breath. It is simply too fast this way aside for the low pop servers.
The first two steps were intentionally fast to complete because they contained essential NPCs and fast travel. Step 3 has been progressing for almost 48 hours and zero servers are even halfway done.

Do we know if our concerns about this content are even being looked at? I was curious if the Japanese peeps had the same issue but as far as I can tell their side of these forums is empty of new posts. Do only the English forums get much comments or do they post problems elsewhere? Or just don’t complain because of their culture?
I’m mad about not being able to participate in any of this as I don’t have much free time for a bit and I have not done anything with my crafters or gatherers this expansion so by the time I can play this will all be over and all I’ll have is just the “final form” of the zone, and no real sense of progression like other content.
Thats like complaining not being able to raid day one because you can't play on release date.

We don't have a single buildings yet and if it took a day or more to build a transportation it wouldve been miserable....
The reality is it's not community content at all.
Do I feel part of the Adamantoise "community" if we fill a progress bar faster than Faerie? No, I'm just more likely to be asleep when something significant happens.
Is there a "community spirit" in the construction and gathering areas? Not at all. DoL don't have time to chat even if they wanted to, the gaggle of crafters is indistinguishable from the Shaded Bower other than it's far uglier, and people running around pressing their one button in the FATEs is just a bit sad.
But that’s the thing the moon has FIFTEEN stages and even aether’s busiest servers are barely halfway through stage 3. That means there is 12 more “progression fates” for the moon
Do people really think it can be balanced that every person can attend every one of the 15 40 minute fates
Doing anything in cosmic right now is contributing to your servers progression. I’m not sure how people expect singular contribution to feel meaningful in server wide progression
