Alliance raid fix?

Rather do 30mins penalty than do 1 hour ally raid. LOL
JK I prolly wont queue ally raid. EXP/time ratio in consideration.

They should have just made separate roulettes, this change doesn't do anything. CT is still boring, CT will still appear the majority of the time, and now leveling alts or new characters has an additional and potentially obstructive limitation when queuing.

Less people solely eligible for CT means less overall runs of CT versus other raids, which means less people-who-want-variety getting dragged down to fill the last few seats for yet another CT run.

Also, that "potentially obstructive limitation" is nothing more than gearing up your character when you hit a levelling milestone, which is what you should be doing anyway.

I personally am so happy about this, though I think I won't bother unlocking the Neir Raids on this char; they give me such a headache from all the white and flashes and stuff.

They need to fix not just the requirement but also the rewards. Frankly, a 15min raid shouldn't give the same xp as a 1 hour+ raid.

An interesting, but welcome change. Considering the sheer amount of biases CT has going for it however, I suspect the majority of instance you'll see will still be CT, the numbers just work way too hard in its favor that ilvl cheesers were only a small part of the problem. I'm honestly more surprised they actually changed the coding on the roulette to allow dynamic ilvl requirements, when its evident the roulettes were coded to use hard-ilvl requirements before.

It's a welcome change nonetheless though. Sorta wish they went with giving the different alliance raids much higher exp to incentivize them better, since now we'll have a roulette that can give the same exp for a 15min faceroll experience or 40+min wipe/health sponge slog experience.

Considering how easy people were willing to jump ship back in the Praetorium vs Castrum dynamic, I have a feeling the meta for those players who want an easy run will be to just insta leave if its anything not faceroll or faceroll adjacent, go do something for 30mins then try and fish for a CT instance due to how the roulette is still super biased to CT.

None of the raids take an hour barring the extremely rare disastrous run because you happen to have several new players. Even Tower, the longest raid, is under 40 minutes. It's fine to say they're too long but let's not exaggerate here.

thats nice, Maybe ill start doing some alliance again. Will still be a lot of CT tho for obvious reasons

Yeah, I just got Tower at Paradigm's Breach in roulette, so I made a mental note to time it. From first loading in to downing the final boss, it took almost exactly 40 minutes. We didn't have any full wipes, though we did have A LOT of character deaths on pretty much every boss which undoubtedly slowed things down. It would take quite a few major disasters to stretch a run out to an hour or more. Maybe when the raid first came out and everyone was new..??

CT still remains the only raid players are directed to and required to complete. While this change may tip the scales slightly, the bias remains squarely focused on CT.

The leveling limitation could be also be a lot more severe than you're anticipating. The problem comes from XP increases and Road to X, if available. It's very easy to reach level 70 in ARR for instance. What happens to Alliance Roulette then? I don't know if this was considered or not. If it was, then OK it's not a problem, but if it was not considered, it's going to be an annoying change.

That's not what's being suggested. There's a There used to be a third-party plogon that told you what the roulette duty is before you accept the queue, so people using it would see one of the slog raids and just take a strike by declining, since you can do that 3 times before even getting a penalty.

Why do I get this sinking feeling in my gut that says "even with the changes...you'll still get CT"?

I don't see the issue either if any you are litterally given a job set of armor each 10 levels after level 50... and everythign you need to fill in with can be be bought with peotic tomestones, it is a good thing they are doing here, it will make Alliance raid more popular thing as well.... and those sitting in queu for eg. the level 70 or 80 ones for long will have the wait time reduced as well.

I mean, if people want to put that much effort into it, I think that's fair enough. It's certainly a lot more work than just taking off your gear before queuing up and I don't think most people will be willing to do it.

What one could theoretically do is not the same as what is otherwise pragmatic. This isn't really practical for 99% of people.

Alternatively, people who only care about endgame raiding and nothing else will make alts that just won't have any other raids unlocked at all. If it turns out to JUST be an ilvl requirement, it won't be a problem at all for people who don't care about other raids and never unlocked them, so theyll meet their level's ilvl requirement, but still be put in CT because it's only one they have.

Honestly it will be really amusing to watch line 6-10 people drop when you get thrown into lighthouse

There is no such tool anymore, nor has there been since Stormblood. There was a change made back then that destroyed that tool's functionality and prevented any similar tool from being made. I don't recall if it was a targeted change or part of a backend system revamp that was necessary for cross world to happen though. *shrug* I never used it so I don't have any more insight to give on it, other than, it hasn't existed for years now.

Huh? Why delete at 60? You would still have to do the quests to unlock the raids, to get them in your roulette, wouldn't you?

Like, I had a White Mage at level 90 before I was even fully done Shadowbringers. You're telling me if I queued in Alliance Raid roulette under this system, I could have been thrown into Aglaia or Euphrosyne? In my level 80 gear? Not having even started Endwalker yet?

Why go to that much effort when all someone needs to do is not unlock the other Alliance raids?

No need to unlock Sky Pirates unless you want to do Tataru's Grand Adventure.

No need to unlock Ivalice unless you want to do the Resistance relics.

No need to unlock YoRHa.

No need to unlock Myths of the Realm.

I think anyone really upset with the change just won't do 24 man roulette similar to MSQ roulette
just don't expect orbone or puppets that often because itll still be CT 60% of the time

Compared to LotA or Sycrus which are ~15 minutes...

I hope this change, will also force people to have the alliance raid unlocked at their level, to queue for the alliance roullete, otherwise the ilvl cheesers will just not unlock any other raid, for the guaranteed ct, since they won't have anything else unlocked.

edit: of course they could always, keep queing with other jobs, that are lower level but with roullete xp, they will eventually be pushed over the boundary for every class anyway where they have to unlock the next one to be able to keep queing.

Up to 10/24 party members are cheesing their item level? People are straight up lying when they try to claim this doesn't affect how many CT parties are formed in the roulette and how often it pops.

I think the people complaining and cheesing have already unlocked other raids on their main character. Otherwise they wouldn't have felt the need to cheese in the first place. They can't go back in time and un-unlock the higher level raids.

To which I offer the same sarcastic remark that was given to us who are tired of running nothing but CT: just queue directly for the duty you want to do and don't do the roulette if you don't like it. :)

The problem with such alts is that they can be reported, whether they are standing at the entrance or disconnect. If the account gets banned the player has to make a new trial account and level a new alt.

Yeah this is one of the things that concerns me and I hope we get more details. My alt on Dynamis has level 90 classes but I just did Sirensong with her in MSQ when it came out for Duty Support. So those 90 classes are stuck in the gear I have available to me right now. It was kind of a short slide but I think if they factor in the ilevel of the highest raid you have unlocked that should assure that people on Road to X servers don't get locked out of AR if they aren't caught up to the raid tier where their adventuring level is at.

I didn't quite comprehend the severity of not playing the game at all was with the simps until now. This frankly explains a lot. The simps literally would do the MSQ 5 times and not touch alliance raids at all.

It still gives good poetic tomes and any daily that gives some gil is nothing to sniff at if you're a new character on a Dynamis server. Plus if the class is less than 90 it still gives XP. It's just very very easy to level on those Road to X servers.

Oh and gear for GC seals if you don't want it for glam or to actually use for a bit.

Infact I might even make a level 50 alt and offer my services in the party finder. Guaranteed quick CT for a small gil fee. You'd probably make bank.

Lol, l play enough cc that Half way through the week my tomestone already caps out. This change won't impact me. I will ever do the roulette again if l am making another hw relic

I also like to use the roulette to try and naturally fill in Wondrous Tails spaces throughout the week if I can get away with it. But also, I... just like doing Alliance Raids? If I can get a bonus for not being picky about which one, then why not?

And I'm probably queueing on a level 90 job because I like playing that job. That's why it's so overleveled. Plus, more variety in what can come up in roulette. Do people want me to queue on a low level job? Because that's how you get Crystal Tower.
