We have Zenos. He's equally cancerous to the plot.

right doing a rotation is too hard for healers and healers still getting complained about doing their rotation even now even though its one button so i guess any dps button is too hard...
i mean its not like the healer is falling asleep cause he is pressing 1 button and not any of his many many healing copypasted buttons cause people avoid mechanics and if they do get hit by mechanics they have a pletora of heals to use then to wait for the healer to cast a healing spell which they pop in content that barely deal enough damage to actually use said buttons unless u decide to be a plant and stay in aoe and get hit.
WoW finally became old enough that good parts of the game were just accepted as good as left as that. All the attention turned to the things that weren't as good as they could've been and thus all heated discussion around the game was just "X is bad, please fix". FFXIV already has it's stuff that they do well and we just accept it for that and thus we all turn attentions to the things that are wrong... which is all any official game forum every really becomes anyway.
square enix has $5.9 billion dollars, most that is undoubtedly being pulled in through ffxiv. stop endorsing bandaid fixes and accepting that money is being pumped into other projects rather than fixing patches upon patches of bugs.
I'm just a simple man. You do good, I say "good job." You do bad, I say "bad job". I don't have time to get into theatrics, unless I'm trying to make other people chuckle or laugh or trying to lighten up a heavy, moody situation. Right now, from where I stand, Yoshi and the dev team are not doing things well. It's just that simple. Very questionable decisions regarding combat gameplay, inability to interpret common requests made by the playerbase and just an apparent disconnect is not good look for them at all.
I do get wanting to have good intentions and good faith with your playerbase but unfortunately for YoshiP, actions speak louder than words. It's just one of those primordial truths of the world and right now, the actions he's taken with the game are just.not.good.
They do something good, and also do something bad.
Something about 6.1 still works. CC is fun (I speak as pvp hater, but still want those Garo thingies), and pvp skill changes are generally liked. Revamped ARR dungeons are nice and players-friendly. Adventure plate is still in beta, but already a blast. Some classes have great QoL, like WHM and DRK.
In the end, the game won't just die off cuz of housing bugs or NIN/SAM changes. Not everyone wants a house, and not everyone play NIN/SAM, or play NIN/SAM up to the level where the changes would bother them. The voice is loud on the forum, and perhaps some reddit posts, but it is not a super major thing that spells life-or-death for the game to warrant a change of FF14's leader. And who to change to anyway? You want Nomura as FF14's producer?
To be fair, Kizuya, competent healers like yourself and myself don't know what complaints they may have been getting when you say we were perfectly fine. Maybe there were problems we didn't know about. We can only speak from our experiences in game. I know unless the group goes like a machine, I don't spend most of my time spamming 1 button. But I PUG a lot. There is a lot more randomness in experience levels. And remember when they introduced lilies? They were completely useless, based on skills we didn't even use on a regular basis. And they fixed that. I am definitely giving them the side eye about some things right now, but maybe it's simply that they have a certain design in mind for healers and we're not adjusting to it. I do wish they would have a frank and open conversation with us and let us into their minds a bit on things.
Also, the fat shame thing. Did he? I tried looking for information but didn't find anything. If he did, super not cool. Definitely something to call him out on.
I wouldn't mind giving nomura a fair shake. The dude is in my opinion an idiot. But yoshi-p hasn't made housing not headbanging levels of frustration after 10 years of his tenure. Nomura probably won't fix it either, but what do people who are into housing have to lose?
And since yoshi-p only plays black mage and gives special attention to that job only, I wouldn't mind nomura taking over. Nomura seems like a melee player, if he can revert the ninja changes and introduce some cool new stuff to it like yoshi p has done with black mage I'm down.
And the the problem with healers getting distracted is?
This may surprise you but HEALERS AREN'T CUREBOTS in fact they are also players too and they also have the rights to have engaging gameplay like every dps and even to some extent tank has, they get distracted? so what? what kind of bullshit excuse that is? then lets remove all the utility from dps and reduce their rotation to Aoe button and Single target buton because they may get distracted and not dps that good, oh, and lets make all the tanks have a room wide aoe button as their whole rotation otherwise they may get distracted to put defensives and grab aggro, this is probably the most uninformed and stupid take I've read in a long time.
The reality is that the game has barely any heal check, none in normal mode in fact to the point tank are SOLO HEALING them, even in savage (which so far 2 floors have seen a no healer clear) and ultimate a healer spends most of their time doing damage because damage is predictable and the healing kits are overbloated and guess what they have to fill that healing downtime which constitues literally the majority of the time? O N E B U T T O N S P A M to the point where the nuke may be in the hundreds by the time the most used heal barely sees its 10th use.
If you can't see how that's a design that is so absurdly bad that almost any healer main with a little of thought could do better you do you, but we healers see it that way and the fact that is the least populated role at any level range (according to the latest census), its forums have been burning in complaints for years, there has been complaints in social media at any skill range from casual to hardcore and the devs haven't done ANYTHING to actually tackle the issue (being the whm missery change an outlier for what we needed to wait 4 months while nin's problems were solved in 6.05) says very little about the dev team and how they think and treat the players that play said role
For Criterion dungeons... We literally don't know what they are so saying they'll change the formula is very optimistic to say the least
It's not really my take, but the take of the developers who are concerned about healers being distracted and I can sort of see where they are coming from with how SCH was busier before the dot removal. Shadow Flare was particularly annoying with the long cast. Some people may be able to handle it but not everyone and they want to design the game for everyone.
Whether they are wrong is not the point. The point is that if people are only ever critical about WoW, then what reason do potential new players have to start playing it? If they are only ever negative, the developers will feel that they can never make people happy and will stop trying to. To prevent that happening to this game, it is important to also be positive about things that are liked and to acknowledge the challenges involved when making complaints, such as when there is a semiconductor shortage.
Ion H.: "Don't you people have phones?"
Yoshi-P: "Don't you people have houses?"
... checks out.
There's some stuff I'd love to change about the game, but I guess we should be more mad that other games aren't offering a better alternative. FF XIV has been using the same formula for almost 9 years. Rivals have had time to take notes on the things this game does well, and surpass it in the areas that are stale and outdated. They haven't learned enough.
Opinions about Yoshida's style aside, he's objectively performed great in growing the subscriber count and he's also a nice dude who interacts with the community more than he is required to, so he gets an A+. There's no pressure for him to do anything different because the game keeps doing good numbers. We're really lacking for alternative games that don't have even bigger flaws.
Yeah no, I have my complaints about things, especially the healing experience with each passing expansion, but Yoshi-P ain't Ion Hazzikostas until proven otherwise. Blizzard's workplace problems was more than some dropped balls in development. The comparison is, frankly, in poor taste.
Eight years later and still facing the same core issues. Six years after apartments launched and they were never expanded in functionality the way they should have been from the start. Eventually the excuses just become a stale, bland blur of gibberish. Island Sanctuaries are NOT going to fix housing or they would have announced it a YEAR+ ago.
Such devastation. I just LOL about it now.
This post is nothing but a straight troll post. No dev on any other game could be like Ion Hazzikostas. That guy makes WoW just so the players can stayed logged in for hours doing boring @ss stuff. He does not care for the game. Just the money in his pocket. You should just go back to WoW instead of bringing your troll post to the FFXIV forums. Plus anyways we have enough troll posters already applying for the position.
I don't go off that phrase of "As far as we know".
If everyone went off a stupid phrase like that then all men and women are pedofiles, but we don't know it.
How about we stick to the facts and truth, Blizzard is in the spot light of grabbing their employees and stealing Breast Milk.............NOT Yoshi-P
With japanese working over 60 hours per week I don't think they have the energy lol.
I think moderators should close forums for a few hours, I understand they are upset about Housing Ultimate (people thought the memes were only a joke!?).
Yea, they dropped the ball with lottery system, but taking it as a chance to complain about core expects of the game is just wasting effort.
If you start a thread and your Join Date is above 2019 I will just expect that you want a WoW but not WoW and move on.
Dumb thread, Ion has consistently greenlit power resets every expansion that people have complained about since the end of Legion, hell end of Pandaria with the cape, expansion ends, critical item becomes poop, overseeing "you think you want it but you don't", Shadowlands trashfire, BFA being half an expansion. . . Criticize the failures (this lottery issue is a big blunder, Healers still having the short end of the stick with RE playstyle), but comparing the two is irrational.
Not really. Does WoW have housing? nope.
At least with Yoshi I don't feel like I'm being talked to by a sleezy used-car salesman like I did with Ion.
I still think housing should never have happened.
Nice feature, but not realistic on technical level considering most of the complaints surrounding it.
No wonder most of your feedbacks (Western player base) are mostly getting ignored. Imagine reading this kind of thread and not getting stroke, you need to get paid more than Yoshi-p himself to do this job.
Saw some post few weeks ago about people want more dungeons like Totorak with branching paths and hidden treasure instead of linear path. Lmao let's fix Totorak instead, yeah they're not gonna listen to forum trolls.. hahahaha!
