I have to say this would be a welcome change for me. But if it doesn't change it's not a huge deal either. Irritating at times yes. But not a game breaker.

Horrible idea, imagine running through a field and getting hit by ranged monster and not able to mount back up. Nothing but annoyance to those traveling by land
Except for some unusual cases where quest NPCs have been placed too close to FATEs, talking to an NPC is not a dangerous activity, and if you autodismount because you talked to the wrong NPC, you can remount immediately and be on your way to find the correct NPC. If you autodismount because you unintentionally hit an attack button and engaged a mob you didn't want to engage, you cannot remount immediately. Requiring you to explicitly dismount before attacking is a safety feature to prevent this, and it also gives you that brief moment between when you press the draw/sheathe/dismount button and the time you activate your attack to realize that you don't actually want to attack and you can remount instead of engaging. NPC interaction does not need this protection in most cases.

It seems other people in the thread are doing the same. OP is asking for an attack FROM YOU to dismount you. So that you do not have to manually dismount, and then start attacking.

I'm genuinely uncertain why some users on this forum assume literally any feedback about something they liked from another game is just trolling, this is such a innoculous post about an option many people enjoy in another game and we're over here like "Stop making it like X" when it would do 0 to harm the game in the long run

The desire of convenience leads to quality of life improvement. Why do it in 2 butons when you can do with just one? You may not feel want it now, but if it is ever get implemented, you will also one of people who benefits from it.

just delete mount, problem solved, instead of mount, now our sprint is equal to mount speed and unlimited duration, no idea about flying though, just put swimming animation on it i guess.

No one misses it, no one wanted it, it is and was a way to extend playtime by having to fight every useless, worthless speedbump mob. Also you cant attack mounted.Quote:

I support the idea. Got used to it back in SWTOR, it looked nice to pretend to jump on the enemy from a mount and it saves unnecesary clicks. God knows we have to many of them already (looking at you, retainers).

Besides my want for a toggle run animation change for all races, this also would be much appreciated if made possible.
It's a simple QoL adjustment, and I'm 100% all for it.
As long as it's a toggle, I don't see the harm in having this. I personally would get annoyed if every time I'm going through a new zone without having flying unlocked, and get a little too close to something just to get smacked while I'm trying to get to point B and be forced to either run far enough away to be able to remount, or have to kill the thing to do so.
